❣❣❣Congratulations on the less70. Proud of you. You are an inspiration. I'm in the US and do not know Kylie (sp), but please don't count it against me and throw me out. I adore me some Ben and David! ❣❣❣
I’ve noticed the weight loss and thought “If he could lose 70 pounds while cruising then I have no excuse” so I’ve been inspired by you without you even saying anything!
That's freaking wonderful Benjamin. I'm proud of you. What a shock. I had no idea. You guys are so blessed to be able to see the world together. Makes me want to focus harder on losing 10 to 15 pounds which is all I really need to lose. I hate the gym too but got to get there which is not easy in the limo busy season. I already do intermittent fasting but need to extend the hours.
Glad you are making a video about it. I've noticed a couple times but felt weird about commenting about your weight seemingly out of pocket and said nothing. YOU LOOK GREAT.
@@shellytrout2396 yes I agree that mostly it is rude to comment but he’s made a video about it and is really proud, so I think congratulating him is fine. Losing weight is hard after all and it’s a big achievement 🎉
Can I just say? Ben, I am so very proud of you! You look healthier, more vibrant, and incredibly confident. How inspiring you are! And David? Way to be a supportive partner. Well done, gentlemen.
I really enjoyed your video, especially the part where you showed how significant weight loss can be achieved through mindful eating, even on a cruise ship. It's truly challenging to maintain healthy habits while surrounded by so many tempting options, but you've proven that with dedication and focus, it's absolutely possible. So inspiring to see your passion for cruising combined with such positive lifestyle changes. Keep up the great work!
I like it when you do a less 'ship' focus video. I think its obvious you will eventually run out of ship tours and hopefully there will be more 'destination' videos, I know you have done a few over the years but I think its something you can expand on. There are only so many cabin and buffet reviews you can do. You both look so healthy now.
A small tip on salad dressing: instead of getting it on the side and pouring it on, dip your fork in the dressing before picking up your salad. That way you get flavor in every bite without over indulging. I told you before Ben, but you are looking great!
I love how real and open you two are! Even for those of us who don’t struggle with weight, it is important to consider the health aspects when we have SO MUCH available at the ready for us to grab and consume. I feel that mindful eating is so important and it is good for everyone to practice. Happy sailing to you both and you both look GREAT! 😊
Wow. So inspiring. I’m trying to lose 30 lbs after being very naughty during the holiday season. I love you guys’ channel and how positive and fun your videos are. Congratulations on your weight loss journey!! 🎉🎉
Congrats Ben I know it can be rough over the last 10 years I have lost about 170lbs about 12 stone I think...lol and I love the fact you show that just some changes in what you eat and exercise can do it....not some new fangled diet, or hanging upside down and eating...you know what I mean....keep up the great work you got this....but definitely don't stop allowing yourself a treat every once in a while especially on high calorie burning days!!!!
Ben, thank you for making it clear there's NO magic pill for most of us, and sometimes it IS hard, but the payoff is huge, and you don't need to deprive yourself. ❤
After watching you guys for a few years now, it was such a treat to see you in my states capital. I had the biggest smile on my face seeing you both appreciate the little things about Melbourne that make it wonderful. You must spend more time in Melbourne. I once stayed for 7 weeks right in the heart of Melbourne and still didn't manage to see and do everything! I also loved listening and seeing your weight loss journey in action. All the tips and tricks were awesome and clever. This is now one of my favourite videos of the channel. ❤
Oh wow! I can’t believe that you are both here in Australia. And you presented my home town of Melbourne so beautifully! Ben, thank you for sharing your weight loss journey with us. It is so very hard to maintain weight loss and your words have inspired me. It has given me the inspiration to lose the few kilos that I want to lose. Enjoy the rest of you time down under won’t you. 🤗🤗
I know you’re a cruise channel but an ‘episode’ of how you eat and such when you’re not cruising would be nice to learn about. You’re doing great! Keep it up!
So happy you’re enjoying australia. We are so lucky to live somewhere so spectacular & special & it’s lovely when people enjoy their visit!! I’m down 20kg since September last year doing the same as you. 1200cal per day, walk at least 3x weekly, weight training 1x weekly, & yoga 1x weekly. I feel so much better.
So happy for both of you for prioritizing your health and most importantly for feeling better! I think most people understand this isn't official advice but just in case I think it's important for people to know restrictive diets have a rebound effect and most people gain back the weight because constant restriction is too difficult to maintain. Also skipping breakfast is correlated with weight gain for most people, not weight loss. Also no one should be comparing themself to the BMI and calling themself overweight or obese. I know doctors do this but this is because insurance companies pressure them to. The BMI was based off a mostly male population from Belgium over 150 years ago. It cannot accurately be used for modern UK and US populations. Lastly, the healthy diet and exercise is what makes people feel better, not so much the weight loss. If any of this seems odd or even better tickles your interest, please look up the HAES (Health at Every Size) movement. I worry that we conflate extra weight with being unhealthy and that is just not the case. That is fatphobia, eugenics, and perfectionism in disguise. To sum it up simply: a little fat never hurt anyone but an unhealthy body does. I see so many "overweight" people beat themselves up when they are doing all the right things in terms of diet and exercise. I want those people to know they are healthy whether they reach an "ideal" weight set by the BMI, or not.
Kylie is Queen! I’ve always enjoyed the two of you - you are my favorite travel couple on YT! I have been on a health journey for the past few years and have sailed as well. It’s easy to be active on the ships and with all the food variety, easy to find healthier options. And I still get the baked Alaska. I refuse to skip it!
Great job!!!! Losing 70 lbs is awesome. Congratulations. You are a great example of what can be done if you have discipline and stick to what you need to do.
Ben, you're doing, and have done a fantastic job. No matter your weight, you are a good looking man! I've struggled with my weight most of my life, so I know how hard it is. Don't be hard on yourself when you have the odd bad day. We are human. It has to be a lifestyle change, and not a diet. Congrats on feeling so much better! Looking great! - Coreen
I'm impressed that you haven't talked about it over the last few videos. Could see it so clearly but no mention. Actually made me a bit worried! Congratulations!
Well Done! I lost 35 lbs this year - also using “My Fitness Pal” . My biggest help was having an encouraging boyfriend who explained “macros” to me, and how to use them along with a caloric deficit diet. Not only did I lose the weight, but got my blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol under control without really trying. Cheers from the Queers in Las Vegas!
My husband and I loved this video.Sights of Melbourne and the nice presentation of how Ben accomplished his weight loss. There are lots of sites that tell you how to do it but it is refreshing to hear a personal story explaining the ups & downs and daily challenges. Great job, boys.
This is an amazing explanation, I’ve realized I’ve been putting on too much from all the travel trying to build the channel and I need to dial it back. Inspirational stuff, thanks for making it!
Congratulations 💕, that’s really an impressive amount of weight to loose unaided - you look great for it! Kcal deficits alone can be brutal, your willpower is 10/10!
You guys are looking amazing. My husband and I love going into town and just walking around and enjoying the scenery and exploring. This our favorite excursion off of a ship.
Congratulations to your weight loss. I wrote already a month ago how amazing you look. Didn’t hear back, just like I didn’t get an explanation back, the about 10 times, I asked you for your favourite luxury cruise ship and explained I needed the advice for my honeymoon, but yeah for one reason… 😕 either way great weight loss and thanks for the videos.
Slowing down how quickly you eat is a good tip, also putting your knife and fork down between mouthfuls, and taking a sip of water between mouthfuls as well. You are doing great 👍 stay strong ❤
Oh so heartbroken I missed you💔I’ve been watching you for many years, but missed some for awhile now & didn’t know you were coming to my home town😞. I would have absolutely loved to meet you both & take you somewhere. Hope you had a fantastic time, congratulations on the weight loss👌🏼 and hopefully I might get to see you in the future. Love Denise, Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺
Thank you for explaining & being transparent & honest about how healthy, sustainable weight loss is achieved. May you both have happy, healthy & long cruising lives.
Greatly appreciated this segment and your discussion on realistic ways to approach cruise dining for a healthy experience. Best wishes with your efforts.
People in North America definitely know who Kylie Minogue is… I think it might be an age thing though… If you’re in your 40s or 50s you definitely know who Kylie Minogue is. We used to dance to her tunes in the bar all the time! Cheers from Canada!👍🏼👍🏼
What an inspiration! I didn't use the elevator when I went on my cruise (Celebrity Edge!) -- I wanted the challenge. Some stretches were pretty hard -- like onboarding after an excursion on deck 2 and going up to deck 14 to eat, I had to pull over and take a 30 second break, but felt great at the end of the week when challenge was complete. Also it was so easy to walk laps around the ship and admire the artwork, even on the cabin floors, I really enjoyed the artwork on that ship.
This video arrived at the right time! I weighed myself and re-downloaded my app for calorie counting, I haven’t dieted since May 2023 when I found out I was pregnant, but my daughters almost 1 now - and I’ve ran out of excuses! My goal is 70lbs in 1 year, so this really is the motivation I need!!
You wouldn't believe it. My husband said that I should ask you how you've been losing weight while cruising. Thank you for your inspiration and tips before our next season of cruising!
I like yall because of honesty, Jokes, love food reviews. Ben my husband old school dont do internet much but know I be watching Yall so one day he went pass me and said WOW that guy lost weight/looks great. Well Im overweight and for the first time I went and joined a Gym I figure if he can do I can too. Keep up the good work on the Channel.
Yes, Ben and David, I have heard of Kylie Minogue. She had non-singing roles in an episode of "The Vicar of Dibley" (opening the Dibley fair) and an episode of "Dr. WHO" (9th Doctor). I know she is mainly a singer, but not from my generation.
I was 21 stone but now just over 8 so can wear what I want & feel so much better. Only down fall is loose skin but I won’t have it removed because I’ll be 66 this yr. absolutely well done Ben 💕💕
Congratulations on the weight loss Ben! I took the 9 month around the world cruise on Royal Caribbean. So, to manage possible weight gain I ate small breakfast, light lunch, and ate half of whatever I ordered for dinner. Plus, no alcohol and no bread! On sea days, walked 2 miles on the outside deck. I don't like the gym stuff, bur stay super active. My indulgence?--a doughnut with the fruit and coffee at breakfast! I'm 73, so metabolism has slowed, but my weight is totally maintained at a healthy level recommenede by my doctor! Love you guys!
Ben congratulations!. That is the secret, which is not a secret at all...take in less calories, but also eat lean protein so you don't loose muscle mass. I did it too ...1500 calories a day (which included 60 grams of lean protein). I lost 50lbs in 5 months. (& no elevators ever on a cruise)✌❤🚢
😮 Little does he know, hes losing muscle, still has fat on him, his A1C probably still shows hes diabetic. He needs to cut all carbs, fruits veggies, seed oils, and processed foods. Eat BEEF, BACON, BUTTER and EGGS. 🥩🥓🧈🥚👍🏼
Dear Ben, I have been worried about you for a long time and I am no longer worried! I love the vlog that you and David do - you have the best one! I love that you have lost the weight! And you look so fabulous!
Ben, you look terrific!! Great job! As we age we need lots of walking, and we can get loads on a cruise 😊. Our truck was eating protein first before eating anything sweet or carbish as it cuts the sugar spike up to 75% per a biochemist. Keep up the good work, love watching you guys from across the pond in Missouri USA
Your doing great, Ben. The start of your weight loss journey is the hardest, you’re going against years of jut eating everything. Good work! Kylie is also my favourite musical artist. First saw her live on the Showgirl tour 20 years ago, just before her cancer diagnosis. She’s now the artist I’ve seen perform live most. Happy cruising!
Ben this is the best video. You discovered the number one way to lose weight and keep it off. Calories in calories out. Small portions and exercise and asking for things on the side. If you want dessert walk more to have the calorie deficit and enjoy. You look fantastic! Congratulations you have discovered the key to success. I hope a lot of people watch this video because you cover exactly the correct way to losing weight and keeping it off.
Well done, Ben! You can still eat well without getting overweight, which is what you have shown in this video. Welcome to Melbs by the way! My hometown!
I only ask i am doing the calorie deficiency like you but I’m also taking the injections. I’m 36 and not stupidly overweight but like you some recent pictures made me rethink my weight.
I just love you guys!! I had to evacuate from the horrific fires her in California, and being able to watch you guys. Gives me a break from thinking about how terrible things have been. You entertain me to bits and put a smile on my face. Thanks for being real and all the great content!
Please don’t take this negatively or let it deter you, but I really want to caution you. I’ve done calorie counting and actually did similarly to you 1200-1800 calories a day. I also used my fitness pal. I’m pretty sure if you only enter 1200 calories a day it won’t actually let you place an entry for the day because it’s too few calories to be considered healthy. At least it used to do that, but that was also subtracting any calories burnt while working out. Anyway, I would really caution you to be careful. When you’re in it, it seems very easy and doable. But if you ever stop counting calories and don’t stick to this, you will 100% gain the weight back, plus more. I lost about 23 pounds from my starting weight. But I gained all that back plus about 30 pounds. And ever since doing that it has been almost impossible for me to lose weight. And I truly believe it is because I wasn’t giving my body enough fuel which caused irreparable harm to my metabolism. I know everyone’s bodies are different. But just be really careful. If you feel like you’re depriving yourself of something, it’s not going to be sustainable for the long haul.
I agree with this comment 100%. I lost 30 pounds on WW and once I stopped “tracking” I gained it all back and a little bit more even while being extremely careful not to overindulge. I still measure my portions too. I believe the calorie restriction does mess up your metabolism. I was always hungry on WW. Yes I looked great but it was unsustainable. I hope your experience is not like ours and it works for you but I would advise proceeding cautiously. You want to be very careful that you get all the nutrients your body needs to function optimally, As we age it’s normal that our metabolism slows down. We’re not meant to look 20 our whole life (sadly). Love your content!

Ben, you've always been adorable. The thing I have noticed most is how much younger you look! You look so good- way to go!!!

A small tip on salad dressing: instead of getting it on the side and pouring it on, dip your fork in the dressing before picking up your salad. That way you get flavor in every bite without over indulging. I told you before Ben, but you are looking great!
Well done Ben, wish I'd met you guys whilst in Sydney 🎵👀
That salad dressing advice was a weight watchers trick from the 70's .
Thanks for that tip! I truly appreciate it.
This is an old Weight Watchers tip! I still use it ❤.
Such a good idea
You two are just so delightful. Your weight loss is amazing and you shine with good health. Fantastic xx

Hello from Hewitt 🇨🇦. I hope that you are feeling proud of yourself. You look wonderful

Yes!! And if you stick to it for even as little as 5 days, if you eat fast food or something bad you feel awful. Which is great reinforcement

Congratulations my boy !

“Caloriffic” in lieu of “caloric” is my new favorite Ben malapropism.
'Calorific' is the correct word 'caloric' is not!
Actually, both terms are correct. 😁

Congrats on the weight loss! 🎉 losing it ain't easy the older we get. I've lost 51 pounds in 7 months myself
Ben, thanks for sharing your weight loss journey with us xx

Kylie appears opposite the 10th Doctor (David Tennant) and not the 9th Doctor (Christopher Eccleston) in the 2007 story “Voyage of the Damned.”
😅@DoctorWhoBookClub yes, thank you. I can picture them together now on the "Titanic" spacecraft.
I’m so proud of you! Thank you for sharing your story! 😊
Well done! You look fabulous!😊

Happy you’ve found something that works for you Ben. And David! Was that you or the next James Bond going for dinner in that white shirt…….
Congratulations Ben!!! I’m so proud of you!!! 👏
Aw wow I remember that beach in 1994 when St Kilda was artsy and not popular yet.
You both look so great! Way to go on your health journey and thank you so much for sharing with us all.❤
In the US and LOVE Kylie Minogue!!

That is why Melbourne is the coffee capital of Australia.
Weight loss is not about calories. Check out the books by Dr Jason Fung.
@@TracyKMainwaringyes all the hard evidence is wrong 🙄
Great video guys, hats off to you Ben, you're doing amazing with your food, good for you. Looking forward to more videos x
@29:21 glad you ate some bread. Don't deprive yourself of everything, it can lead to binging later.
OF COURSE WE KNOW WHO KYLIE MINOGUE IS-EVEN IN CANADA!❤️
Absolutely!
Here in the US we know who she is! Late 80s early 90s for me.
My surname is related to hers, just a spelling variation, but pronounced the same.
You've done amazing Ben 🎉❤
Ben this is the best video. You discovered the number one way to lose weight and keep it off. Calories in calories out. Small portions and exercise and asking for things on the side. If you want dessert walk more to have the calorie deficit and enjoy. You look fantastic! Congratulations you have discovered the key to success. I hope a lot of people watch this video because you cover exactly the correct way to losing weight and keeping it off.
Well done, Ben! You can still eat well without getting overweight, which is what you have shown in this video.
Welcome to Melbs by the way! My hometown!
Did you use injections to help the weight loss? Wegovy etc
Super proud of you Ben! Also so happy to see you loved our country. I always say it's like the US and UK had a baby.
Congrats on weight loss/maintenance. Thanks for making the video. You make great points
