Hi Anita, thanks for you comments! We use self-hardening clay in this project and it does not require baking. You also can paint it with just about any kind of paint or you can watch my playlist of videos about some beautiful finishes I teach how to do. The link to that playlist is below. Self hardening clay? I'm in the UK so is it the same as air dry clay
