I was going to comment on this. I've always used a steel pipe to hammer-fit guard material down into the shoulders, I like that bolt-powered jack process much more
I really impressed with the jigs you created to achieve perfection and precision. Even more impressed with your tool and machining skills. Not a fan of eyeballing a project. Well done Sir 👏
The metal was already hardened and tempered I guess ? I thought that when you snapped the extra handle material off now I'm wondering what you used to fume the brass in the handle Nice looking and usable blade 👍
Hey my guy, im really glad you are wearing a respirator, and i can tell by the sound of your breathing, a little advice from a person that has wear them for half a lifetime, take longer breaths and try to stay calm even if you are moving, try to focus on deep breaths instead of shorter ones, it helps to keep a lot more oxygen in ur body than co2, when ur breaths are short you inhale the co2 that you exhale, and well less oxygen= to less focus and potential hazards. Other than that amazing blade
This is a great video and good craftsmanship :) One thing tho, your breathing can be heard pretty heavily at some points. you should probably work on your micropfone setup a bit.
Awesome !! How do you set the proper angle right from the beginning on the grinding jig ? You do one full side, then the other so you dont lose time switching sides right ? No pre-bevels ? Thanks for your answer :D
First time I've seen someone work with M390...looks pretty tough to work with hardened!! Russel talks about it as the new top of the line material. Always love the simplicity of your designs and the bolster was magnificent. Interesting how the Ammonia also effected the micarta. Are you going to make a video on the sheath? Thank Always Koss, for your generous sharing and unique builds! Hat Tip ~PJ
m390 definitely isn't new, and has been used in quality knives for over a decade. 2010 is when it really became popular for production knives, though people had used it and variations of it as early as 2000. There's a great knifesteelnerds article on it if you'd like to read it. If you're interested in what the newest "best knife steel" is currently, I personally think it's CPM-MagnaCut.
@@brendanroos7102 Thanks that was a fun rabbit hole. You may be right and if Kershaw is using it now, it's definitely on track. I'm also partial to cts-bd1n as my Yaxell dragon fire chef/slicer (thin and 16°) is very impressive for 2 years now with only 2 minor touch ups and stropping. My point was that Koss is the first time "I've" seen anyone work with M390.
The jig that you used to fit the bronze guard was one of the most clever things i've ever seen in knife making videos
I was going to comment on this. I've always used a steel pipe to hammer-fit guard material down into the shoulders, I like that bolt-powered jack process much more
Ha! I love the jig for seating the bolster!

You must have stock in 3M with all of the sandpaper you go through
I watched much for myself. Thank you! You really showed some new technologies, I've never seen before. Thanks again.
BEAUTIFUL PUUKKO

As usual, stunning work.
I haven't watched it yet, but I already love it! 👍
The metal was already hardened and tempered I guess ? I thought that when you snapped the extra handle material off now I'm wondering what you used to fume the brass in the handle
Nice looking and usable blade 👍
06:32 - 07:17 Never seen this technique before and its brilliant
fantastic job
Nice work fitting the bolster. I think it's best to solder the joint to seal it.
Amazing job my friend congratulations 👏
Another masterpiece nicely done. Look forward to the next video Koss. Thank you for sharing your skills my friend.
Good job 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Very nice!
Need to make some mini knives with those off cuts from this or other projects. Great job as @lways
Mantap gak ada lawan 👍👍

What was the tool you used to scribe the lines on the edge? And would you use the same grinding jig if you were grinding a double edged knife?
superrrr brother
Lovley looking knife. My finish blood do aprove this :)
❤🤍💙 all your videos mate👍
Eline sağlık.
It is a beautiful and sleek weapon. I do prefer a guard on my knives but that would certainly remove some elegance from this piece.
How is everything u make so beautiful
Belo vídeo parabéns
Loved the video, very nice work. I absolutely love your bevel jig. Where can I get one?
Nice one❤
You're master among masters, genius work with smoth and gently handworking. Inspairt me all the time.❤️👌
Wow.
Dope AF knife, Koss! Now you've gotta stitch up a nice sheath for it! (If you haven't done so already!)
Nice job! New JIG? Very convenient ! Whitch one is?
Bro I wanna see your whole knife collection... unless you sell all of em
Sieht gut aus. Trotzdem wäre es heschmiedet besser gewesen.
This is a great video and good craftsmanship :) One thing tho, your breathing can be heard pretty heavily at some points. you should probably work on your micropfone setup a bit.
Are you okay ? Your health is she good ? I hear you're breathing hard. All is good for you ? 😢
God bless you 🙏 ❤
Frikkin sweet 👍🏻 👍🏻
Keren pisau nya

Wow😎👍
nice man. just a question , why the test is allways on paper and not on real food.? knifes are for paper cut?
Can you add descriptions for all what you do?
Why notch the edge before the hilt? Puukko has it all the way up to the hilt for various tasks that require the leverage and control.
@mankihonda983 Probably for resharpening the blade without grinding the hilt with a sharpening stone
Simple, classy, cool! That being said, what is that canister at the end, and what does it do?
I heat the ammonia solution in it. Ammonia fumes puts a patina on brass.
@Koss-channel Thank you for the reply. I love your channel. Your work is incredibly beautiful.
What was the purpose of the ammonia vapor bath? what effect is achieved on the brass and fiberglass?
Hyvä homma!
♥️👍
Did you make the device which you use to hold the knife for making the angle yourself?
Nice knife . What kind of material is that handle made of.
very large for a puukko knife but otherwise very good work
61hrc? Very hard
Very nice knife
No hardening it tempering?
You used zero fire?
How can I get one of those knives?
Awesome work Man

having all that m390 seems like a waste to make a stick tang knife
Great video, but do you think you could not breathe so heavily into the mic in future?
Did you harden the blade?
how much does this knife cost?
👍
torille
The facts that he didn't sell that knife, made us feel bad😢
Ok
I want to buy that knife send information
Love it, but it sounds made by Darth Vader!
why didnt you harden the blade ... i dont get it
