  • No lathe bowls are cool to carve as they can be any shape you want, I use kutzall discs on a angle grinder to show you what they are able to do. This is a first impression review of the kutzall disc and dish shapes.

    Really excited youve made a video working with these kutzall products! I literally just had my very coarse concave disc shipped to me last week and arrived over the weekend. I've already busted it out and grinded on some claro walnut. I've made 6 little bowls already.
    Phenomenal discs, absolutely.

    That was an amazing video, and a really nice shaped bowl. I've started using Kutzall discs for carving various shapes but still struggling to sand the grooves left behind especially in the tight spots! What methods did you use to finish the bowl as it looks super smooth at the end.

    • @MattCarves
      @MattCarves  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah that is a tough one. I have been using the arbortech contour sander, but I haven't decided if it's good yet. I did use a small 20mm disk attached to the dremel as well. I will have to make some more next year to find a good method, it's a tricky one.

    Matt, thanks for this excellent video. I have a scrap piece of merbau (290 x 650 x 42) that I'd like to make into a cutting/serving tray for cheese, olives, etc. I'd like to gouge out deep wells to hold dips and/or nibbles and to make the piece lighter. How do these Kutzall cutters work on hardwood?

    • @MattCarves
      @MattCarves  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Can't really say how the kutzall discs will go in hard wood. Probably OK if your doing a shallow tray.
