I read somewhere that the next Lego movie would be a reimagining/reinvention of the series, but I was not expecting this. However, I think it's a missed opportunity for Animat to say "...or am I going to be tearing this movie apart piece by piece?".
I’m not gonna lie, as somebody who’s getting fatigued with these biopic films based on famous musicians trend that kicked off since 2018 with Bohemian Rhapsody, I do admire this biopic on Pharrell taking a unique approach in using The Lego Movie’s animation style as well as how Universal’s been able to resurrect feature length Lego films since The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part wasn’t as critically and commercially successful as the first film and take it in a new direction to differentiate itself from The Lego Movie franchise. I think it’s for the best for future Lego films to shift away from the tone of The Lego Movie franchise considering how it was one of the contributing factors to how the last 2 Lego Movies didn’t do so well due to audience finding the meta and self-aware parody aspect not as humorous as the first film and The Lego Batman Movie and because of how the first film’s directors’ reputation has been tarnished since Phil Lord’s treatment of the animators during the production of the first Lego film, The Mitchells vs the Machines and both Spider-verse films was exposed last year. So in the future, less like The Lego Movie and more like Piece by Piece.
I may not have a huge rush to see it, where the reviews are just decent but nothing amazing. However, it's been a long while since we got an okay animated documentary in forever.
Hard to believe it's been 10 years since The Lego Movie, and only 5 since Universal made the deal with Lego to let them make movies, and the result is a phenomenal documentary about Pharrell Williams

❤️💖 Wow! 👌🏻 I cannot believed that it's been almost five years since we got an animated movie based on Legos since 2019's the Lego Movie Part 2. It is sad that Warner Brothers let go of the Lego Movie rights but we still have Universal Pictures distributed them in the 2020 decade. 😃😀😄😁😊😉 👍🏻 💖❤️
❤️💖 Wow! This also marks the directorial comeback of Morgan Neville, you may know him as the director 👏🏻 of Won't You Be My Neighbor?, a documentary about Fred Rogers. It is great to see him comeback directing another documentary type film but this time in animation. We definitely deserved more animated biopic films 🎥 like this and have more live action directors enter animation like Wes Anderson and Guillermo Del Toro. 😃😀😄😁😊😉 👍🏻 💖❤️

They really needed to make more Lego sets for this movie. I want Lego Gwen Stefani and Lego Kendrick Lamar in real life! And in that scene going through all the musicians he produced for, which I won’t spoil due to its many amazing cameos, I just so wished I could have them all as real figures.
@@danielgudinojuarez6729 Yeah, I do see your point. LEGO Movie 2 did have a rough production similar to LEGO Ninjago Movie and Across the Spider-Verse.
What’s interesting between this and “The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part” is the aftermath after 5 years since Universal’s time to play with the toys: In 2019, two toy-based animated films, including “Uglydolls” and “Playmobil: The Movie”, killed off the trend of capitalizing on the original Lego installment. Between 2020 and 2023, Warner Animation Group turned their intellectual properties into successful kids’ films, such as “Scoob!”, the 2021 “Tom & Jerry” hybrid, the long-awaited “Space Jam” followup, and “DC League of Super-Pets”, with various critical results, along with cancelling “Scoob! Holiday Haunt” and “Coyote vs. Acme”. By 2023, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller faced major controversy for their toxic work ethic on “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse”, along with “The Mitchells vs. the Machines”, which resulted in one of its key player, Jeff Rowe, to leave the duo to work with Seth Rogen on “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem” for his healthy work environment.
I’m glad Jeff Rowe and Seth Rogen learned from their respective experiences of the dangers of working in a toxic workplace under abusive leaders and avoided the same unethical work practices to make a more healthier and agreeable work environment during the production of TMNT: Mutant Mayhem.
❤️💖 Honestly I am completely shocked 😲 and suprised that he didn't joined Illumination Entertainment to develop an animated biopic film based on his personal life. Considering the fact he did collaborate with Illumination to compose music 🎶 and songs 🎵 of their animated films especially the most repetitive song "Happy." Don't get me wrong, I do loved and enjoyed the song 🎵🎶🎼, it is happy, fun and gay catchy but still Illumination overused this song in their animated movies. But overall, I am glad 😊 and happy that he choose this idea 💡 to be an animated Lego Movie. 😃😀😄😁😊😉 👍🏻 💖❤️
❤️💖 Personally I still wished we could've gotten a third Lego Movie 🎬. I still wished that we could have gotten a world 🌎 peace between the Legos and the Duplo aliens, we could have a wedding between Emmett and Lucy and what if Emmett's human owners grown up by playing Legos? I feel like the second film ended so many questions than answers. I still missed Warner Brother's Lego Movies and they were kinda like the Toy Story of the 2010 decade. 😃😀😄😁😊😉 👍🏻 💖❤️
Hey all you hardcore P&F fans out there, you guys should make a fan-made Phineas & Ferb 2D animated revival series that’s not just for the longtime diehards, future newcomers and even those who haven’t seen the official original Phineas & Ferb series back in 2007 will have both a unquestionably absolute blast and impressively phenomenal 10/10s across the board because it’s seriously THAT fun to watch for good reasons without any signs of pretty meh to downright dumpster fire bad episodes to speak of whatsoever, it’s undoubtably a can’t-miss good funforggetably impressive masterpiece in it’s own right entirely for countless generations to come, official or otherwise, but most importantly, it’s a flat-out must-watch Phineas & Ferb masterpiece experience we’ve ever seen yet in recent memory that can arguably be on par, if not, seriously rival the official upcoming revival Disney Television Animation show itself like you wouldn’t believe call: Phineas & Ferb: New Summer, Same Old, Same Old Impressively Well-Crafted & Spectacularly Awesome Fun Summer Brothers Of ’07 We Still Know And We STILL Absolutely Love’em To Death Today! and the quality of it, especially with the musical numbers, needs to be a downright absolute incredible to Walt Disney Animation Studios-tier levels of outstandingly impressive phenomenal modern day 2D animation sight to behold for all the right reasons why and some, especially compared to today’s official Hollywood animation standards, than your typically average low-budgeted fan projects these days, it’ll genuinely make you believe you’re actually watching a official Phineas & Ferb 2D animated revival series, period. You guys can also watch this Phineas & Ferb series itself either on modern day 4 to 8K Ultraviolet HD DVD and Blu-ray/Blu-ray 3D and/or on the old school retro Walt Disney Home Video videocassette and Laserdisc to make you believe you’re actually right back in the good old 1990’s era itself once again like no time has passed at all to you (not even for the slightest nanosecond), no questions asked!
NGL this is kinda of the closets to having a documentary style of Surf's Up and I could've been happier And the fact that Piece by Piece Transformers One and the Wild Robot are beating Joker 2 at the box office is saying something.
I’ll say this is one of my most anticipated movies of this year. While it ain’t from Warner Bros, I always thought the LEGO films were the best franchise there is. With the topic of Pharrell, while I’ll admit I’m not into “pop music” but when it comes to Pharrell’s works I would say he has some great taste in music, I always found enjoyment ever since the Despicable Me films and this does seem like it carries it as well as if it’s a collection of music videos! And with LEGOs being involved is like the best of both worlds!
When it comes to future biopics, I can't help but wonder what "Better Man" will be like since Robbie Williams is a freakin' CGI chimpanzee in that. And yes, I am serious.
In my honesty, I don’t want a Beatles cinematic universe. It’s one thing to make a Bohemian Rhapsody-style biopic on the group, but a whole frigging cinematic universe?! I think that’s gonna result in audiences feeling fatigue with these biographical films based on a famous musician.
Half of me wants to see this movie due to the fact it's a documentary done in a Lego style, which is oretty refereshing. But the other half doesn't because I don't care about Pharrell William's music, personally. I've only heard two of his songs and both were too bubblegum pop for my tastes. I might check out Piece by Piece when it's released on streaming.
I didn't expect a Will Pharrell documentary told in the lego style to work so well, but it absolutely does.

The first Lego movie we've gotten in 5 years and it's a Pharrell Williams documentary. Somehow this fits perfectly.
