Why not backwash the filter by reversing the flow?

Backwash by simply reversing the flow will not yield much result unless some intermittent pressure and release of pressure is not applied.
Reversed pressure was applied here in this case by the able demonstrator in front of us.
No doubt it saves lots of money and can be performed when micron size of seive don't matter much.
What l do that in my filter system, first sediment filter is of 5 micron followed by 0.5 micron - carbon activated - ultrafiltration membrane of 0.1 - 0.001 micron - copper filter - UV - Alkaline.
I regularly check for tds of water supply, as well as resultant tds, negative pH and negative ORP etc.
