BTW, Clown (the guy hitting the Keg outside) is the percussionist of the band, and the Keg and the Bat he's using through out the video are actually part of his instruments. That's the exact sound you are hearing in the song, and uses it in several other songs too.
And Clown is also the person that directed this video. So MVP would be an accurate way to describe him truthfully.

The drummer is the son of Max Wienburg who was a drummer for Bruce Springstein. The one with the keg was Clown. One of the things about Slipknot's sound is they have such a heavy percussion section. They have the main drummer with the kit and then also have 2 other percussionists with huge base drums and kegs and yes they use actual kegs in their music. This song is mostly a metaphor for for the music industry. That's who the "she" in the song is. Corey Taylor said it was basically a song about the music industry and how "she" treats herself and how he treats "her." I said before your daughter should MOST DEFINITELY come to a Slipknot show, along with the whole family!! They are amazing Live!!

The current drummer for Slipknot was a huge fan of theirs when they first started playing about 20 years ago. He saw them live many times when he was in high school. Fast forward a few decades and he's now part of the lineup. Talk about landing your dream job lol
Jay Weinburg's (the drummer) favorite band as a kid was Slipknot and because of his dad, got to meet them back in the day. Could you imagine growing up loving a band, then one day becoming their drummer??must have been an insane feeling!!
Metal concerts are actually very nice, my advice would be avoid the mosh pit, then you will have a great time. People there are usually extremely friendly, Corey has actually stopped singing at some concerts if he saw something he didn't like happening in the crowd (one was calling out inappropriate touching of a girl crowd surfing, the other was a guy trying to flirt with his sister). But you should definitely give it a go (Corey doesn't like people being on their phone at a live show so maybe don't record it).
But really avoid the mosh pit and you will have a great time :)
If your daughter goes to a show, she will be well looked after. Metal fans are the kindest people you will meet and accepting of everyone. We take care of each other, even in the pit.

The first concert I took my daughter too was Slipknot. They headlined a Coliseum tour to get the vibe of the "old days" instead of Amphitheaters. It was a great show. They are always an amazing band live. She loved it!

Def take her. Metal heads are amazingly accepting especially to people experiencing it for the first time. We may definitely look odd... goes double for the concerts but if u cool we cool. A slipknot headline concert such as rock fest is a whole different energy. Their fan base has been building and growing for 20 plus years. Good people and good times... guarenteed

My cousins band Gizmachi, usee to open for them for a few years He still tours with them,til their next albums finished ..travels the world They are the sweetest guys ever ... they treat our family like family. My cousins appendix burst touring in Australia and they paid every bill and when he was well enuff they flew him to Vienna to finish the tour). Awesome Dudes!!

You all should go to one of their shows. I've seen them 4 or 5 times now and the crowd gets crazy and I nearly get mashed to death each time, but it's so worth it. They have a great stage show every time and even though the crowd gets crazy, they're not mean. We had them play at the Iowa State Fair last year (I'm from their home, Des Moines, Iowa) and that was an absolutely insane show that may have broken the record for attendance...a few days later the head of security for the fair said there were fewer problems than at whatever lame-ass country show that was the next night. Absolutely go to one of their shows. You'll be really happy that you did!
I think Nobody by Skindred and Sonne by Rammstein would both absolutely bang in the car.
I'd also recommend At the Drive-in. Start with their biggest banger, One Armed Scissor.

I went to see Slipknot for the first time last year with Gojira and Volbeat (couple other great bands you should check out if you ever get through your suggestions list). I personally hate moshing and we ended up near a pit. We decided to move away from it and everything was great for the rest of the show. People show it in different ways, but everyone just wants to rock out and the band revs it up to max when they're live.
Volbeat was much better live then i thought they would be

Also the current drummer is Jay Weinberg. Son of Max, the son of Bruce Springsteen’s drummer. The last and original one was Joey Jordison who left due to him having a disease that affects his legs and could barely walk once he finished a show and the rest of the band took all of it as him being on drugs so they kicked him out but they’ve since dropped the whole thing and they wish each other the best and Joey even said one day he might be back but I don’t know about that it’s been since my sophomore year since he left I don’t think it’s happening especially since Jay has been killing it and Joey already has his own bands that he’s happy with and the 9 is happy with Jay replacing Joey, V-man attempting to take the place of Paulie which would never happen because Paul Gray is the Goat on bass, and Tortilla Man (AkA Mr Michael Pfaff of Clowns old band Dirty Little Rabbits) is ok but he is growing as a precussionist and vocalist for sure and sounds a lot better than he did when the tour cycle started. I’ll get into who tortilla man replaced but that’s a whole extra story that I’ve had too much to drink to explain for right now but yeah I at least got a majority of the history and good songs out at this point
You should consider going back in time and check out Nirvana (in bloom) or maybe some Alice in chains (man in the box) DISTURBED my child, Mine or Even some 90's more of a mellow flow like some Incubus Drive, pardon me. Much love to your channel and fam✊✊✊😎
