Pestily you have really overlooked the SP-5 round, it is a hidden gem. Its stupid cheap at 142r and its unlocked at Prapor 2 so almost everyone can buy it at the trader price in unlimited quantities. On top of that you get to use it from a great budget platform, VSS is around 40k including the suppressor. VSS + SP5 is the best poor mans kit by a mile imo. To put it in perspective a suppressed smg with AP6.3x120 will cost ~140k, a VSS with SP5x120 will cost ~60k. M80 doesn't one tap in the chest anymore since it's been nerfed. Bullets incur damage reduction as they penetrate armor. When making these type of videos, would you be able to put images of the gun that the caliber of the ammo it uses with it? It makes visualizing which ammo goes with with specific gun easier.

Im lvl 22 I dont have load sof spare cash in tarkov so blowing 100-200k per raid on ammo alone just isnt an option. I always tend to run AK 74 (can get the plum one from prapor for less than 10k worth of bog roll and toothpaste) with modest mods; rubber but, polymer handguard, lvl 2 skier muzzle device and a pk06 filled with PP ammo. Nobody ever seems to mention PP, but when I look at the tables the pen value and damage seem ok and it's very cheap. Just over 100R from prapor IIRC. Most of the time when I get killed its not in a straight one on one fight and I'm happy enough dumping full mags of pp into people as that's only 3-4kRub. Can any experienced players elaborate as to whether I'm doing something that makes sense or not.
@@MeatbagTTV Oh, you're right. Thanks for clarifying. Now I'm interested in the details on ricochet mechanics too... Guess I better stop being lazy and look it up.
When you buy a drum mag for the pistol of that caliber (the PM maybe ?) it's indicated in the dexcription that it's for PM and PPSH, so I think there is a good chance that it's added in the futur
How does the damage work in regards to penetrating armour? For example say i have 5.45x39mm BS ammunition going against a class 4 armour. Will it do the whole damage amount (40dmg) or reduced slightly from the armour? Also, the armor damage % in the table, does that mean that it will do 57% of the damage value to the armour?
@@dungang4100 ricochet is the round hitting and deflecting. AFAIK this does not damage you. Fragmentation chance is only when the bullet has already penetrated and is supposed to simulate the chance for the bullet to fragment into smaller parts or tumble on it's axis, both cause increased flesh damage.
I’ve had really good experiences with the Flucette or fucking whatever. In 3 raids about 1.3 million doubles worth of stuff just from factory. Never went in with armor or anything.
Tarkov made me look at guns like swords when it comes to ammo. The gun is your swords hilt and handle but the thing your doing damage with is the swords blade or rather your guns bullets. You wouldnt want to take on monster with a dull blade right?
I agree ammo is the key. Once I've played as a scav and had some sniper rifle - I tried to kill another scav player shooting at him from distance using scope like 7-8 times and ques what? - nothing!!! Then he killed me when he finally realized where I am...
Wish they woulda made m995 atleast 800 a round not 1000 so it’s balanced where people who want to use it can’t feel that bad and those who like 500 and under ammo won’t use it
@@rusduderus it sure is I mix most my magazines now since ammo is so scarce and expensive For 60 rounder mags you could do 10 of each round e.g. (10 m855a1 and then 10 995 , 10x855a1, 10xm995, etc.) Just remember that ammo you put in last will be the first to feed in the gun
I load 9x19 RIP in my mp5 and i f'ing wrecks everything that comes in my way even though it has almost zero pen... and i also noticed it became more expensive every time i buy a stack of it...
im confused, the chart shows SNB having better pen against higher level armor than 7N1, so why is 7N1 still considered meta for a bolt action sniper, but SNB for semi auto. So shouldn't the higher pen be more optimized for any scenario of this caliber? Especially if trying to get through decent levell armor and face shields, if someone is able to explain why 7N1 is more meta I'd appreciate it a lot. Just trying to figure out what ammo to be running, while getting the most bang for my buck.
I run SNB no matter what especially late game. Even if I dont 1 tap with SNB my targets armor is trashed and they are not feeling like returning fire because they took serious damage. 7N1 shooting an armored target may not pen enough and your target is more likely to stand and fight back sooner. So, if anything SNB in bolt guns and 7N1 in SVD.
how does flechette 28 pen have more armour effectiveness then the ap20? am i missing something? or is it like each round that it fires do that amount like x7
For me best 12 gauge is Magnum buckshot. Its shreds armor to peaces. One tap scavs in cheest or long headshot. Ap-20 was disaster for. It doesnt one tap scav. May be its going through hands first.... I dont know.
was in a fight with a guy with a SVD thermals, and eventually he pushed me and we traded shots face to face and he hit me in my altyn around 3 times and i dropped him, turns out he had 7n37.....70 pen and didnt manage to pen
Now you would have to ask NoFAM about this but there would be a chance to ricochet each shot off your helmet / face shield. I don't know if ammos have an internal equation to increase the chance of this, that is something you would have to ask NoFAM but i guess if there is a % of 3x ricochet then he got extremely unlucky

Id argue that SX ammo has value on the MP7 if your hellbent on shredding scavs and undergeared players, due to the fact that it has a 50% frag chance.
One thing that i would have liked to hear in the beginning of this video was why you made a new ammo video. Did they change stuff in .2 or did you just want to make a new vid for ammo since you havent done that in a while?
The previous video was made in 11.7 so there were new ammunition added and changes to multiple rounds
good ammo values about to shoot up
Yup lol
id say theres an obvious difference between sp6 and spp. spp has quite a bit more flesh dmg which makes a difference. ofc sp6 is still a good round and cheaper but it really isnt THAT much cheaper. bp isnt worth it though
Thanks for all your hard work pest. Enjoy Europe!
When making these type of videos, would you be able to put images of the gun that the caliber of the ammo it uses with it? It makes visualizing which ammo goes with with specific gun easier.
Yep I'll add to my to do list to get a screen shot of every gun in the game saved for this in the future (i'm starting to build a database for this reason)
Just got my first kappa container today :)
Ukko congrats
IRL PKM uses 7.62x54R (Rimmed) and RPK uses 7.62x39mm (rimless).
3:02 tracers, so which color of suicide do you want?
the fully auto 7.62x25 gun should be PPSH-41,as I remember.
The peepeeshaw
@@ryanvandoren1519 HAHA,should be a very effective SMG for the leg meta
I wish one of these spreadsheets also included the dealers that sell them and at what level (i.e. Mechanic 1)
Most people are buying off the flea market until they level traders. Even when they are you can get bullets cheaper on the market sometimes as well.
@@connors5543 I have seen that, but in most cases I still like to check with the dealer prices and compare since the market can fluctuate with the players not knowing they are charging more than dealers. Always good to do a quick check.
@@kwazzi9911 You do know that the traders show on the market right?
@@connors5543 I definitely forgot about that. Only played a few times. Once a week at the most.
Next time explain projectile fragmentation mechanics, pretty please. Absurdly well done presentation all around! Keep at it.
He was saying that its busted rn he misspeaks and calls it ricochet chance tho
@@MeatbagTTV What would you say the proper term to be used in this case would be, if "fragmentation chance" is not?
@@Dedicated0 no fragmentation chance is right but in the video he calls it ricochet chance. Ricochet chance is a value for helmets not ammo :P
@@MeatbagTTV Oh, you're right. Thanks for clarifying.
Now I'm interested in the details on ricochet mechanics too... Guess I better stop being lazy and look it up.
Spent 30 mins sorting out my ammo
Got shot in raid 15 seconds after spawn
7:45 My mind immediately went to the ppsh-41, it uses 7.63x25, its fully automatic and if there's a mosin and an sks, why not add a ppsh-41
PPS 43 is also using 7.62x 25mm
Probably because if they added the PPSH, it would melt the servers and some clients due to the insane fire rate.
There is already a drum mag that fits a makarov and a ppsh, were only missing the ppsh :p
When you buy a drum mag for the pistol of that caliber (the PM maybe ?) it's indicated in the dexcription that it's for PM and PPSH, so I think there is a good chance that it's added in the futur
At last podcast, Nikita said that ppsh is coming
great vids my dude
How does the damage work in regards to penetrating armour? For example say i have 5.45x39mm BS ammunition going against a class 4 armour. Will it do the whole damage amount (40dmg) or reduced slightly from the armour? Also, the armor damage % in the table, does that mean that it will do 57% of the damage value to the armour?
I like loading my mags with some cheap "bad" ammo at the bottom such as ps, then bp, then at the top throw in some bs for the first few shots
I'm pretty sure by ricochet chance he meant fragmentation chance.
wildcamaro they are different things and fragment only gives bonus 50% compared to ricochet
M80 is recently nerfed so it doesn’t reliably one shot lvl4 in the thorax anymore :(
huh
I’ve had really good experiences with the Flucette or fucking whatever. In 3 raids about 1.3 million doubles worth of stuff just from factory. Never went in with armor or anything.
Snb rounds for 7.62x54r are easy to farm in reserve
Tarkov made me look at guns like swords when it comes to ammo. The gun is your swords hilt and handle but the thing your doing damage with is the swords blade or rather your guns bullets. You wouldnt want to take on monster with a dull blade right?
that depends. blunt bullets have more stopping power. but less penetration.
LETS CRACK STRAIGHT INTO IT
Ye boi
Where did the timestamps commment go?
Does it make sense to stack pen flesh pen flesh pen flesh in a mag?
Wash your hands and be mindful of what your touching and avoid crowded areas!
Thank you for the PSA in these trying times. Zombie apocalypse incoming...
Mosin for life!
very very helpful
What I don't understand is why PBM, whic is supposed to be armor-piercing, has lower penetration than PMM
Subsonic ammo is paired with a suppressor minimal sound. Sneeky cheeki brikee
Doesn't make any difference in Tarkov. I've tested this
I agree ammo is the key. Once I've played as a scav and had some sniper rifle - I tried to kill another scav player shooting at him from distance using scope like 7-8 times and ques what? - nothing!!! Then he killed me when he finally realized where I am...
NoFoodAfterMidnights Ammo chart isnt working for me for some reason, its in a infinite loop of loading. Then it says its not available sometimes
Yeah. For me and my bud as well. Quite sometime ago it worked though
i want to thankyou for your service
sb193 drops like a fucking rock though. only good for short distances, and even then aim a bit higher than normal
honestly m995 is mega overated considering the fire rate of the m4a1 m856a1 is honestly a little bit more than enough
Wish they woulda made m995 atleast 800 a round not 1000 so it’s balanced where people who want to use it can’t feel that bad and those who like 500 and under ammo won’t use it
no link to the tarkov wiki ballistics page?
Your videos are helpful for a lvl 11 player with only 500k like me lol

it is called Flechett because the e is silent.
Is it true that according to NoFoodAfterMidnight's ammo/armor table the Igolnik ammo destroys Zhuk-6 armor to 0% in 3 bullets?
Can't be sure but i think if we tested it that it would
It's plausible, zhuk6 is pretty fragile anyways, it's ceramic, only used to stop bullets with less than 60 pen
ok thanks, then its a good idea to top up the first 10 bullets of your mag with best ammo if you cant afford to buy a lot of it?
@@rusduderus it sure is
I mix most my magazines now since ammo is so scarce and expensive
For 60 rounder mags you could do 10 of each round e.g. (10 m855a1 and then 10 995 , 10x855a1, 10xm995, etc.)
Just remember that ammo you put in last will be the first to feed in the gun
@pestily, do you know how the leg kills system works? Or limbs in general? Is if you need enough damage to black both legs to kill?
sean metzger after you destroy one or both legs, any further damage will spread across the rest of the body, eventually killing the target.
sean metzger holy shit you don’t have to send the same comment 4 times for me to notice it xD
Well... yes, you need to do 435 points of damage
Fuck me dean Sean. Calm down
Danilablond idk y there’s 4 comments. TH-cam mobile blows
I've been watching your hardcore play through and really miss your epic mustache.
how does flechette 28 pen have more armour effectiveness then the ap20? am i missing something? or is it like each round that it fires do that amount like x7
For me best 12 gauge is Magnum buckshot. Its shreds armor to peaces. One tap scavs in cheest or long headshot. Ap-20 was disaster for. It doesnt one tap scav. May be its going through hands first.... I dont know.
Ty mr pestily can we get a barter trade one after?
hey the nofam ammo chart got taken down because it "violates googles TOS"
for the Sunmachine cheat sheet, it shows the TOZ under shotguns with 12g ammo, is that a joke?
was in a fight with a guy with a SVD thermals, and eventually he pushed me and we traded shots face to face and he hit me in my altyn around 3 times and i dropped him, turns out he had 7n37.....70 pen and didnt manage to pen
James Jinger u wot
Now you would have to ask NoFAM about this but there would be a chance to ricochet each shot off your helmet / face shield. I don't know if ammos have an internal equation to increase the chance of this, that is something you would have to ask NoFAM but i guess if there is a % of 3x ricochet then he got extremely unlucky
@@Pestily helmet was on 95/95, checked after and it was believe around 70~/95
