I imagine y/n is feeling a weird version of survivors guilt. They're alive and sun/moon's past partner has been "decommissioned". They won't ever know how to comfort sun/moon about the partner who passed because they survived long enough to be, in y/m's words, second choice. I know survivors guilt is being in a situation where you wonder why you're the one that survived and not other parties that were involved in the same issue, but i feel like this kind of ties back to it. Maybe I'm wrong, but it's how I interpret it.

edit: i rewatched it and y/n can touch their face, this means that y/n either has no nerve endings or that it actually IS blood, eclipses is a sentient being who can feel emotions after all, and why would they add a heating system to their face that can literally melt their face? idek anymore :/
