  • Hi Team,
    For those new to the channel - I try to upload a couple of times a week, but keep in mind some days I just can't get out detecting or maybe no targets on the day. But almost every episode I release as a premiere video - which is played for the very first time on TH-cam. We get many people joining the live viewing and interacting in chat while the premiere is playing. So make sure to subscribe and hit the bell to be notified on the premieres.
    I would also like to thank all of my wonderful subscribers in showing interest and taking time out of your lives to watch my adventures. For those not subbed please consider hitting that button for many future adventures.
    In the video’s its just about capturing the events that unfold on our journey through our gold detecting, and the best part about that is we just never know what the day will bring. Certainly we get excitement just from being out there. But the joys of finding gold no matter what the size is something we just never get back and need to share these moment.

      Hi Rehman, yeah all good showing some swing time hey.
      Will surely get some more on the cards. I use to do it a lot in early videos.
      I guess sometimes swinging for half hour with no target would be very very boring to many people though. Enjoy your week M.G

    M.G. have you tried trenching into some of the smaller mullock heaps. I used to do a couple of trenches in that ?????? (secret) spot every time I went their and guess what. That's where the old timers hadn't actually dug because they were on patches NEXT to it. 👍.

      Hi buddy, nah thats fine, the handle is a Solid Swinger, if you go through my Video list about 9 months ago I done the Review Video and fitting of the handle. Cost is $80 direct from Manufacturer or places like Coiltek or Gold Supply shops have them, pretty sure Geelong Detector store also has them as well.
      If not watch that Video and has all contact details for the Manufacturer
      I didnt buy mine the Manufacturer came out on a training day with me and gave me a handle, so I reviewed it for him. Also been mates with him for a fair while now.
      Very very nice fella ;)

    Really enjoyed this episode!
    I would like to see a training video, arriving at a location and running through setting up the Gpx.
    It’s interesting to see that you run in enhance for small gold, I did think the hotter settings would be better for small bits! You just keep teaching!

    • @MinelabGold
      @MinelabGold  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ship - yeah thats right super quiet on most grounds a higher sensitivity setting would increase the response but also increase ground noise.
      Unfortunately I wouldnt do a training video here on TH-cam only because I hold training in fields as my profession, and I also have a subscription site with a tonne of tutorial videos - which has exactly what you requested.
      Anyway all good - have a great week ahead.

    Gday MG
    I don't mind THIS kind of video...as a half-newbie thats recently gotten a gpx4500 (the newer one) its good to see.
    Im in NE Victoria and have been out every few days getting familiar with the 4500 and its setup and my adjustment to this unit having upgraded from a Garrett.....
    I think im doing ok though ive not found gold as yet however where I live the Gold is tiny, reasonably deep and in a high trash area.....ive played around with settings and am getting lots of lead even small bits...running an 11" Mono Coil - I guess I just haven't walked over the Gold yet..
    Learning to 'read the ground' too but this will come with experience I suppose.
    The only other issue im having is working 'hot-ground' where the detector is noisy...
    In this situation ill usually drop the rx gain a bit and stablilise it out.....
    Usually go General or Deep and on Normal with Fixed tracking but if the ground is noisy then id probably have Tracking on and drop down the Rx a bit.....
    Anyways im still learning and its good to see that its not ALL TARGETS and THATS GOLD lol....
    I love all your videos - this one shows the reality of detecting....
    A process of research and persistence to increase the probability of finding that Gold..
    anyways thx and have a Good Xmas 2019

      All settings will find gold, well maybe I wouldnt recommend Cancel Mode or we like to say Dumbed Down Sunbaker Mode.
      And walking around in one setting all day is nothing wrong. As long as operators enjoy their days out, there is definitely not a holy grail number hey buddy ;)

    Do you have any idea how much depth is lost with the 14" x 9" elliptical? I just bought one last week. Thanks for your videos. I may have to invest in one of those handles.

    • @MinelabGold
      @MinelabGold  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Ed, the 14x9 Will be great for depth when compared to smaller coils, very sensitive on small targets compared to 14 Inch Round, also more versatile than 11" Round being you can push in tight vegetation. As for depth against 14" Round - havent done exact tests with multiple settings but sometimes even with one setting and one target we get the idea on the depth. I tested with 3 gram gold and it was about 30% reduction in response.
      Hope that helps, I dont mind on reduction in depth as long as we utilize the coils for their strengths ;) Enjoy M.G

    • @edkubinski
      @edkubinski 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmmm. I just sold the 14" round to get the elliptical to make it easier to pinpoint. Still pretty much a rookie at this. Oh well. I do have a 25" mono. I guess I'll have to start putting it to more use. Just kind of awkward. Keep up the good work 💪

    • @MinelabGold
      @MinelabGold  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All good Ed - yeah 25" good stuff at least ya got Large and Mid Range though. Plus the benefit of extra sensitivity with the Elliptical ;) Good luck

    • @edkubinski
      @edkubinski 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I got out to use it yesterday for the first time. VERY sensitive! Found a tiny piece of trash more than a foot deep. About the size and thickness of your pinky fingernail. And, unfortunately, several other pieces of trash. But I do like the maneuverability of it. And for me the pinpointing is easier than with a round coil. Going to head back out again!
