Getting back into chess and I gotta say all of your videos are just the best for the Caro in my opinion, your humor is one of a kind and your easy on the ears. Just a comment to leave my respect for such a dude.
Alex you made my day!! was really waiting for that, I'm a 1200 casual player who just started to play a year ago, dont have time to study everything but love your content, so I studied a bit on the jovaba, and learned the caro from you, but I dont have a weapon for d4 as black, being messing around with the slav cause its the most similar to this 2...tnx a lot!!
Concerning 2:07, since when is it ok to play Bf5 before taking on c4? White can take on d5 and play Qb3 next, after which he will probably be a pawn up, or he will induce something like Bc8. It will not win a game by itself, but it is not ideal.
Hi Alex, I just was in a blitz tournament last night, 5 Swiss rounds, one game as White and one game as Black. Almost all my opponents as White were playing a London or Jobava London! This opening seems to be in fashion now. Good to see this video on how to play against it as Black! "We don't take the bishop to highlight the disaster of this game." 😂🤣😂
Hey Alex just wanted to let you know that I've been following you for a bit of time now and really learning from your content. Been using your new Caro Kaan course so far and its very simple to grasp and enjoying the positions I'm getting because of it. I am entering my 3rd over the board tournament this year and so far have struggled with black against 1.d4 so this video in specific has been helpful. Would you consider maybe updating this Reversed London System/Slav as well to include lines against the Jobava London since you are doing content on that now?
Ha! I only study Vienna and Caro-Kann lines, but... I have a 100% win rate when white plays 1. d4, and a 100% win rate against the Scandinavian defense. I guess I should play more by intuition and basic principles... Thanks for another guide!
IM alex thanks a lot for this. I’ve been maining this opening against d4 c4 and it has been going great for me so this video will help me deepen my understanding of the opening. I earlier requested a video regarding the theory of the panov attack. Is it possible to make one please? I appreciate you lots and thanks again for the awesome vids
Game 1: After 1.d4, d5 2.c4, c6 3.Nc3, Nf6 4.Nf3 the move 4...Bf5 is wrong. After 5.cxd5, cxd5 6.Qb3! black must play b6 with a bad position, because 6...Qb6 loses a pawn after 7.Nxd5!, for example 7.Qxb3 8. Nxf6+, exf6. 9.axb3. For beginners with black it is important that you know when you can play Bf5 and when not. Here you can play Bf5: 1 d4 d5 2 c4 c6 3 Nf3 Nf6 4 e3 Bf5.
I’ve been playing CS keep it simple suggestions against 1d4 like the QGD and his response versus the London (the latter which I really like) but I wonder if your Slav just makes more sense in terms of pairing with the caro kann. Interested in seeing more
how can this be recommended when cxd5/Qb3, just like scandi gambit joke opening - even after 6..Nc6 7. Qxb7 Bd7 8. Bf4 this scores is 65% for white on lichess - is already +1 aka no compensation. if this is what you recommend your viewers then be my guest

Slav defense, reverse London, Caro Kann -- the similarities are elegant.
One year later and this video, like your others, is both entertaining and very useful for improving one's chess skill. Thanks Thanks Thanks!!!
¡Gracias!

Love that you continue with the London in your videos - that and Caro-Kann - that's what I watch. Love your commentary and of course your teaching.

Always nice to see new Alex video in feed, plz give us more vienna rating climb soon!
Yes, more Vienna would be very much appreciated!
youre my new favorite chess teacher. Thanks for all of the insight.
Thankk you very mych, Alex, It was very fun and illustrative!
Great lessons, Alex. Greetings from Cluj-N.

Oh let's go I needed this Love your videos
Good stuff Alex. Struggling to come up with a repertoire vs d4/c4.
Hey Alex. We need a 1.d4 opening course. I have your london and caro courses, but this would fill the gap. Thanks for the great content.regardless.
@alexbanzea I get Qb3 more often than you'd think below 1500, but I still like using this reverse London system against 1.d4
Can you make a video on what to do as black when white decides not to play E4 or D4? Highly appreciated thanks!
Reverse london!
This is the only thing missing here. Thank you for this.!!

Good afternoon sir. Can you please tell us when the London system course will be on sale again?
Will there perhaps be a discount boundle if you buy both the caro and London course? I’m talking specifically about the video version.
The opponents rook sacrifice had me laughing for 5 minutes straight 21:10
Beautiful instructional video.
So funny and brilliant. We need a chessable course for the reverse London / Slav
IM alex thanks a lot for this. I’ve been maining this opening against d4 c4 and it has been going great for me so this video will help me deepen my understanding of the opening. I see London system video in your channel (even reverse 😅). I first hit the like button and then watch the video. Super video again
You are a masterful teacher! Even got my wife learning chess now. Thank you my guy!
Excellent instruction
Any update on the Caro Kann chessable release date?
43:19 you premoved Rxg2.. and if Rh2 defending the pawn? You lose a rook due to the premove
@Alex please play an aggressive opening in a 15 minutes game, I want to know how much aggressive or trap play is effective in longer duration
Here you can play Bf5:
1 d4 d5 2 c4 c6 3 Nf3 Nf6 4 e3 Bf5.
You can either play 6…Bc8 or 6…Nc6 to gambit the pawn (for anyone that’s getting confused)
Hi alex are there any more videos on the same topic?
when is the caro course coming out?
I’ve been playing CS keep it simple suggestions against 1d4 like the QGD and his response versus the London (the latter which I really like) but I wonder if your Slav just makes more sense in terms of pairing with the caro kann. Interested in seeing more
"Like a dog took a shit in the middle of the room" LOL as!
Excellent.
Lol I was screaming Bb4 to the screen before you called me a bozo 🤣
Alex, are you at the superbet chess classic? have you been down? Caro kann time alex,i keep checking my chessable hoping it will drop...
.7 seconds! That had to hurt!
instead of bishop to F3 my plan would be pawn to b7 and then pawn to C6.
Is that any good?
In game one why wait for pawn takes on c6 to start the attack on the king?
I was not waiting, it was just the first time it was possible after the rook f6 move
Can you make a video on good weapon against scandanavian defense and also against queen's gambit
Alex can you explain the nuanced differenced between this and Caro on a future video? I am not seeing the difference. Thanks
how can this be recommended when cxd5/Qb3, just like scandi gambit joke opening - even after 6..Nc6 7. Qxb7 Bd7 8. Bf4 this scores is 65% for white on lichess - is already +1 aka no compensation. if this is what you recommend your viewers then be my guest
To be fair 1 d4 d5, 2. c4 Bf5 is not terrible, becouse after 3. cxd5 you can play ...Bxb1 with Qxd5 next.
I been running into difficulty when pawn plays e4 to prevent my bishop going to f5
Is it me or, during this video, was the time between “move onto the” and “following game” conspicuously longer than usual?
I hate to have to correct you Alex, but I'm rated 950 and I'm pretty sure knights do NOT move backwards. Keep up the good content, though.
I have trouble thinking backwards like that. I tried doing it and lost the game. Maybe I should use a mirror. ;)
Qb3 is so annoying I switched to Semi-Slav 😂 The Qb6 line leads to annoying endgame with doubled pawns.
Tell me moves and let’s fix it!
@@AlexBanzea Sorry, TH-cam didn't alert me of the comment. You showed the "refutation" line and your response to it.
"...of course not, BOZO!" Love it (Ha ha)! So true. How about look for counters?
bruh these impersonations crazy
QUESTION: Please tell me how I can become a student.
Next video how I crush beginner with dutch defense
My rating is 500 and I've been playing this system without even knowing 😂😂 thanks Alex great video
The famous Wooden Spoon hahahah
Jobava?....i will wait hehehe
MORE CARO
Try not to make a premature attackulation 😂
😆
Bruv am stuck at 1200
Premature attackulation had me on the floor😂
First comment I am the best of all time
This is just a caro kann...
You could just start with Baltic to get those positions.
