After I saw this movie 2 things happened. 1. I was crying like a baby. 2. It brought back so many memories. I'm a veteran of Operation "Desert Storm" and "Desert Shield ". I saw death with my own eyes. Great movie and my respect to all my fellow veterans.
I am a retired Navy Master Chief Petty Officer. As soon as I saw the collar rank insignia on the African-American Chief Petty Officer, I knew that the military advisors for this movie were not very good at their jobs. The insignias are not oriented properly, something that would be immediately obvious to anyone who who has spent any time in the enlisted ranks of the U.S, Navy. A bunch of Navy Chiefs sitting in the CPO Mess aboard ship, would burst out laughing at that Chief's uniform shirt. This movie is about Navy SEALs, and, other than aviators and submariners, the SEALs are probably the most detail-oriented outfit in the Navy today. Pay attention to the details...details matter. Navy SEALs...The very Best!
Eye am a disabled veteran that was aboard in the navy aboard the U.S.S. Ponce LPD 15. Machinist Mate 87-91 and the officers did not wear their uniforms like they were wearing.

Each country has their own special forces, you can only join the Military if your son is a naturalised US citizen…. SEALs are elite, but you have to remember it is an honour to serve in SF in any country..They have their own traditions, and honour….And are all proud members of a unit….

they got all the uniforms wrong for the time period, the weapons aren’t recoiling like real weapons, and the acting is horrible. its a great idea for a movie, but they have to redo it and get it right because that is an insult for those men that are in those roles. But for these men who gave all ,some died and some keep on going, we as civilians will never know what they really did go through and they have to hold those memories in their own hearts till their last days. I dated one of these dudes for 4 years. He was the most solid person I have ever known. We split because we had different dreams. I still love and respect him. Solid person in a world of fluff. Still love you John.
You can just tell by the comments most are all civilians who do not have a real understanding of what true military life is. Keep in my mind, though these actors did not do a horrible job representing, it’s still Hollywood and cheesy in so many ways. To all the young men out there who want some form of combat Infantry life, just keep in mind it takes a special person to continue the fight while their friends around them are dying. Hollywood glorifies and remember this is what a 2 hour movie? So much hard work and dedication. At 41 still not married and no children. You shall dedicate your whole life to the Teams etc. So many want to become Navy SEALs now that even new recruits who have SEAL contracts are losing them and getting thrown in with the fleet, which you don’t want. You have to really be something special these days. Regular Army or Marine Corps infantry will see more combat than any special tier unit anyway and those are facts, trust me. I would recommend one of those Branches. You want an advanced form of the infantry life, become a Ranger, or go into Marine Recon. No silence anymore with the Teams unfortunately. Everyone knows what a SEAL is now and everyone and their brothers thinks they are a SEAL after playing Call of Duty and Airsoft. I have seen SEALs fold under fire in combat. It’s very rare, but it happens. You can have all the training in the world, but once rounds start flying past your head by someone you know who wants you dead is the real test. Blessings to all who join and serve our beautiful country. 🙏🇺🇸

The USS Midway was my ship. I served on her from 1970-1972 just after they put a longer flight deck on her to handle the bigger jets. Diesel powered carrier, she served in Vietnam after I left the Navy. She is now a tourist ship in San Diego. Go and see what it was like to be in the Navy at that time.

But for these men who gave all ,some died and some keep on going, we as civilians will never know what they really did go through and they have to hold those memories in their own hearts till their last days. You can just tell by the comments most are all civilians who do not have a real understanding of what true military life is. Keep in my mind, though these actors did not do a horrible job representing, it’s still Hollywood and cheesy in so many ways. To all the young men out there who want some form of combat Infantry life, just keep in mind it takes a special person to continue the fight while their friends around them are dying. Hollywood glorifies and remember this is what a 2 hour movie? So much hard work and dedication. At 41 still not married and no children. You shall dedicate your whole life to the Teams etc. So many want to become Navy SEALs now that even new recruits who have SEAL contracts are losing them and getting thrown in with the fleet, which you don’t want. You have to really be something special these days. Regular Army or Marine Corps infantry will see more combat than any special tier unit anyway and those are facts, trust me. I would recommend one of those Branches. You want an advanced form of the infantry life, become a Ranger, or go into Marine Recon. No silence anymore with the Teams unfortunately. Everyone knows what a SEAL is now and everyone and their brothers thinks they are a SEAL after playing Call of Duty and Airsoft. I have seen SEALs fold under fire in combat. It’s very rare, but it happens. You can have all the training in the world, but once rounds start flying past your head by someone you know who wants you dead is the real test. It's made for TV you wouldn't have a navy seal team fighting amongst themselves in the middle of an op They're hyperfocused on their mission and they might get into it whenever they get back behind the wire but not while they're out beyond the wire

The USS Midway was my ship. I served on her from 1970-1972 just after they put a longer flight deck on her to handle the bigger jets. Diesel powered carrier, she served in Vietnam after I left the Navy. She is now a tourist ship in San Diego. Go and see what it was like to be in the Navy at that time.
