A button was fitted on some models to open-circuit the ringer coils and short out the secondary winding of the inductor.

I am attempting to make up an intercom between rear seat passenger and driver. Using these handset for the rear and a horn speaker for the driver. Any hints or tips on doing this would be appreciated. Thanks.
