  • Chant of Constantinople more commonly known as Byzantine Chant is the sacred chant of the Orthodox churches in the former lands of the eastern Roman Empire and many of their ecclesiastical offshoots beyond those areas. This tradition, encompassing the Greek-speaking world, developed in Byzantium. It is undeniably of composite origin, drawing on the artistic and technical productions of the classical age, on Jewish music, and inspired by the monophonic vocal music that evolved in the early Christian cities of Alexandria, Antioch, and Ephesus. In the Orthodox Church today, many churches use Byzantine Chant as their primary musical tradition, including the Churches of Constantinople, Alexandria, Antioch, Jerusalem, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, and Albania.
Traditional Music Channel is for everyone who has a passion for music.
Music is an expression of human creativity. UNESCO reports that among all the performing arts, music is the most universal and is found in every society, most often as an integral part of other performing art forms and other domains of intangible cultural heritage.
Traditional forms of music are considered carriers of cultural heritage because they represent expressions and traditions transferred through generations of a community.
With recordings from more than hundred nations our collection of traditional music offers a staggering diversity of our humanity.

@@DrStrange1000Aramaic (which was still spoken in a small number of villages in Iraq and Syria before everything went to Hell in a handbasket - not sure if they survived or, if they did, made it home) is, while not identical, still a rather close relative of Arabic and heavily influenced the Levantine and Mesopotamian dialects of the language. I have to imagine the chants that started evolving in the Roman persecution period sounded fairly similar.

In protestant seminary, I attended Synagogue classes for Hebrew; I so wish I had attended Greek Orthodox Church school where they taught Greek. "Koine" is better understood in the proper pronunciation and then easily transferred to Modern Greek useful when traveling to Mt Athos, and in general Greek cities. God keep you close to Him and bring you into His Holy Orthodox Church of our fathers in which the apostles' successors give us the understanding of the Holy Scriptures which reveal to us Christ our God!

Are you a regular Lutheran/protestant or an evangelical? Because evangelical in the english-speaking world is a word to describe a crazy people who happened to be christians. While lutherans are just regular christians.

    • @Cigydd
      @Cigydd 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@bernhardrosnau169 I am not a native English speaker so I can't tell the exact difference. I only know that there is the Lutheran and the Reformed tradition, and their charismatic/pentecostal versions, which you maybe refer to as crazy evangelicals. I have friends and relatives among the pentecostal Christians and I am far from calling them crazy even though I don't share every aspect of their faith and piety.
But our church grows from interesting roots. The Czech protestant movement grew up one hundred years before Luther! It was the Hussite movement. The Czech protestants were suppressed by the catholics until they were given the "freedom" to choose either the Lutheran or the Reformed/Calvinist faith, in 1781. So they became artificially divided. In 1918, as the catholic Austro-Hungarian empire was gone, the new Czechoslovak state was grounded, and also a new church that unified the Czech protestants, the Lutherans and the Reformed, under the common Hussite roots. And that's the church I belong to. It's the biggest protestant church here in Czechia. The Czech Brethern in our church's name refer to the same tradition as the world-spread Moravian Brethern church. It's a special offspring of the Hussite movement. Yes, if it isn't clear enough from my previous writing, our church is more traditional and yet "liberal" in the sense of a wide spectrum of views. Our church doesn't define itself as pentecostal or charismatic but there are still regions that are closer to this type of piety. Which isn't my case. 🙂
And wait... We are on Wikipedia!

    • @Cigydd
      @Cigydd 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@bernhardrosnau169 Yes, that’s the difference. The European meaning of “evangelical” gets a bit lost in the American context. It usually means Lutheran here but in the case of our church it means Lutheran + Calvinist + Hussite + Czech Brethern, which are all old, traditional, and regular confessions. 🙂 And yes, the original historical meaning was “Lutheran” even in our country.

Face it... the orthodox church, along with the rest of xtianity, is dying. There are a few pockets of growth, but the vast majority of this religion, is hemorrhaging adherents. The catholics can't find young men to be ordained as priests, in the orthodox churches I have been in recently, the pews have been filled with only the very old and the grandchildren... only on special occasions is the church filled with any amount of people. Protestant churches are closing down due to lack of adherents. Other religions, too, are having issues with a mass exodus of members...

I see Him now in your womb in a servants' complexion and I am shaken with surprise; Ave o Bride even without having been wed. The First of angels was sent from heaven to say ave to the mother of God. (3). and in his voice, when he saw You in the shape of a man, he was shaken and stood upright declaring to her so: Ave because with you joy shines. Ave because with you the curse goes away. Ave you who is Adam's readmition (to heaven). Ave you who is comfort for Eve's tears . " and it goes on and on for pages...

God’s children have to rise claim authority over the devil, and the sun will rise when we rise , because we believe
    and faith brings the bold
To pray that God smokes out the devil today
    And all the evil forces

the heretics ,all who attack persecute innocent
take pleasure at our measure , we stand
for the children of God are tall in faith

God , I pray that this joy of deliverance from the enemy
Be the power of Only your display
that no evil can stand the sight of God’s light , and God heard our cry
and Justice will be Among us , when God smokes the evil and all it’s host
will not be at the foot of one more sacrifice
A poor child taken as their roast ,
As they laugh and boast blasphemous on God as they kackel like a jackel
While another child ,is the choise to make God cry when each dies
    So we rise
we call to God to send the warrior angels to do the will of God’s heart , and shield the innocent , deliver the peace east to west for God is the best of the best and
    Smash that trash
only way only hope is Father God
And that sunshine of His Glory
Be sent , God is a miracle and the way to slay
    The beast
Free the east and west and deliver justice for us
God stands for all children hand in hand believing Jesus is the only way
and the children are not the toys of satins play, Justice for us and God is the only one to deliver us the freedom and put an end to this injustice the evil brought on to us the crisis
To destroy us and reset as was in the past , but this is not a time to let pass , we confess and ask God to rid this evil mess , east to west we all are God’s best and under God , we are one ☝️ And that devil will be done , when we call the HolySpirit , the world will rejoice
When God sees we made our choice , God is the one ☝️ and only , Holy and Devine
We ask Father God to help us into the days of victory and harmony and grace

Then it got adopted by Christianity in the east( check out the hagia Sofia chruch) and after that the art and music were adopted by Islam ( modern Turkish mosques) and the Islamic prayer singing. The Islamic prayer singing in the area that was east Roman and Greek Orthodox is similar to Greek Orthodox chants. But the Muslim prayer in north Africa (west Roman empire latin language and culture) does not have the singing style like in the east Roman Part ( Greek culture and language
