Note they didn't leave their Company Happyface Entertainment. The company just later renamed to Dreamcatcher Company. The This Is series is well worth watching. They are broken into yearly seasons, 2020 (8 eps), 2021 (7 eps), 2022 (7 eps), 2023 (7 eps) and they don't replace each other so each season is worth watching so you could start at the beginning. Each video is only 7 minutes long, so people usually combine a few if not a full season at a time for making a longer video. Just a suggestion since they're a popular set of videos that could pull in the views. They don't generally have much in the way of music spoilers and are move member highlights / fun / humorous videos. Your mouth will hurt from smiling.

Now that there are 4 videos for each member it has become a big ask, but usually it's desired that if you react to This is... that you do the whole series. The newer ones aren't updated versions of the old ones, more like they each have different clips based on different aspects of their personalities (loud, clumsy, etc.). They all have their own charm. It's totally up to you if you want to do them all, but I recommend starting from the first ones (2020).

Thanks for checking out a guide for Dreamcatcher! As you can tell they are indeed Chaotic, lol. I'll try to answer a few questions you had. Jiu is more of the Dad of the group in the sense that she is more laid back and loves telling corny/dad dad jokes. SuA, is just pure energy. While being very chaotic she's also like a co-leader for the group with her and Jiu sharing a lot of those responsibilities. She's more of the mom to Jius dad role. Siyeon's representative animal is a wolf. I believe it was attributed to her due to her fierce stage presence and her ability to stare into your soul. Her solo song Paradise is one of the best examples of this, it usually elicits a physical reaction from people when they watch it. Her voice is something else. She's capable of these really powerful rock belts and also able to do really delicate airy tones. Handong was a contestant on youth with you. She said she went there because she was lacking in confidence and wanted to try and get better. She was also getting very few lines around this time due to her confidence and the fact that she was still working on learning the language. Ironically, Handong's lines tend to be some of the most iconic in songs because her parts are usually in transitional points due to her light and delicate voice. She got stuck in China as she left the show due to Covid starting at the same time. You are right, Yoohyeon is the start of the Maknae line. Her respective animal is dog and it's because she's such a big hearted loving person. She's truly like a big puppy. Dami was the Maknae is minx and spent a lot of time being the 'cute' member during that era. I feel that the laid back, cool persona she has now is much more her real personality. She's definitely still chaotic, but a more laid back version, in comparison to the rest of the members. Gahyeon always acts like she doesn't want to be called cute, but then she constantly puts out cute content and acts cute. "Is that a Maypole", nope, that's their light stick. It has extensions that can be added. The base lightstick is like a magic wand but comes with two extensions to turn it into a staff. However, if you have more extensions you can just keep adding them. I believe they're in Guinness for the tallest lightstick. They really are very close. Their 7th anniversary was the 13th, but they went ahead and resigned their contracts over a year ago. They also went and signed all together because they wanted to do it as the group. When Minx failed the CEO decided to put it all on the line to try and make it work a second time. He sold the majority control of HappyFace Entertainment to have the funds available to debut them as Dreamcatcher. He knew that they had what it took and viewed Minx's failure as a management failure, which it mostly was. I believe Jiu said in an interview that the CEO said he would open a cabbage stall in order to fund them if he had to. Thankfully, they're doing really well now and all of the trials and set backs they've faced have only served to make them stronger. There is another video I'd recommend called Dodging Disbandment and other extreme sports by Mera. It's not a typical guide and all of the info in it is centered around the groups hardships and how they've managed to stay in the game. It's more of an Industry essay targeted at Minx/Dreamcatcher. The "wolf" for Siyeon is basically her presence on stage. Also, they didn't leave the company, the company renamed themselves and redebuted them as Dreamcatcher. Btw, if you wanna just have a fun time while getting to know their personality, the best way is by watching the "This is" series by Insomnicsy (I know a lot of insomnias want to see that too). And lastly, if you wanna hear Dami sing more you gotta listen to Jazz Bar ( maybe the live version) or Deja Vu (a masterpiece btw)

Youth With You 2 was a bog-standard survival show that formed a short-lived group THE9. Handong was a contestant, and said in what was likely a producer-prompted interview for the show that she was not satisfied being a sub-vocalist in Dreamcatcher. Blackpink's Lisa was a choreography mentor for the show, but got luckier than Dongie in that she had headed back to Korea during the shoot before any travel restrictions hit, and conducted her choreography critiques remotely for the later episodes. Dongie came in 56th out of the 107 contestants, but that can largely be attributed to her getting virtually no screen-time - you saw seriously like 50% of her screen-time in the clips in this guide. (I watched the show because Jenny Zeng was on it, and only realized 5 or 6 episodes in that, oh, this was the show Dongie did.) The shoot was only supposed to be for a couple of months, but she got stuck their for the better part of a year. However, her Chinese agency did produce an album with her while she was there. The rest of Dreamcatcher ... really missed her, and I think she realized just how important she is in Dreamcatcher. She, like all the rest, renewed her contract well before the seven year mark.
Fun Faxt. Seeing that JiU and SuA are the 2 oldest members of Dreamcatcher They are considered the parents of the group. JiU, being the mother figure and SuA being the father figure.

In my opinion, their discography is basically a no skip. Odd Eye ( the return of Handong and Ice Blonde Siyeon) was my comeback as I found them during their Boca era. Piri is my favorite title track. Dami and Siyeon are my bias (main vocal and main rapper.. unsurprising since Moonbyul is my Mamamoo bias and Solar is my Mamamoo wrecker), JiU and SuA are my bias wreckers. Handong is my wrecker of wreckers because she loves to come in a wreck Dami, Siyeon, JiU and SuA. All 7 members can dance, sing and rap- all arounders Jiu being the leader and the bunny and the fake Makane energy are definitely in line with Solar’s Yeba energy despite being the leader. Jiu and Solar are two of my favorite leaders.. I don’t think any one but JiU and Solar could have lead their respective groups and the chaos that is brought. Jiu is a ray of sunshine.. the members tease her but also respect her. Siyeon- one of the best main vocalist in KPop. Can also rap.. She made herself co-bias in Piri (which was 5 songs in for me as I went- Boca, scream, Deja Vu, You and I and Piri). I love my weird wolf. She killed me with the latest look rocked for the 7th year anniversary concert.. short red hair and a suit.. problem for a Siyeon bias.. Handong- I love her tone. She is so funny. Dami- had me from the get go. Fierce and charismatic on stage, silent and chill.. mostly off stage. Deep voice, killer rapping and amazing vocals make me compare Dami to my Mamamoo Bias of Moonbyul. Make sure you watch Insomnicy’s “this is” series- 20,21,22 and 23, some clips are the same because of how iconic they are, but they each have unique clips. It gives a really great read on their personalities. The duality and chemistry series are also great as it shows each member duality and how the members interact with each other. There is balance in the chaos. Insomnicy has a lot of great content, Kit works hard. DreamCatcher mind is their variety series that we all want a second season of.. it really shows their personalities too. Jiu- “dad” and sometimes fake makane “kid” and a food lover. Bunny Sua- “mom” and sometimes kid, crow tit.. queen= Leo Siyeon- weird alien wolf.. if you know you know.. her representative animal is wolf, but she is also charismatic and fierce and powerful on stage from energy to “wolf gaze” in her eyes, expressions. For she is very very silly and very much a flirt off stage. Handong- funny and sassy, cat. The only one who does not get SuA’s violence. She missed Scream and Boca albums/combacks for youth with you/covid pandemic as she is from Wuhan and had still been in china when it started thus she was stuck till restrictions were lifted and she could go back to South Korea. She was missed dearly by Insomina and her members during that time. She went on the show to gain confidence in her vocals and stage presence. Her former shyness was because of her lack of confidence in Korean along with her own abilities. The show did its job because the Handong that left after Deja Vu and a European leg of a tour is completely different from the Handong that returned late Boca era and for Odd Eye. As a huge longtime girl group stan for years, Dreamcatcher has got to be one of the most loud, chaotic, unhinged, unfiltered groups out there (and it’s the best). If you enjoy a group with personality, they have it in spades. I remember a GOT7 member telling his members “omg they are the female version of us” and being shocked by it lol. They seem to mildly stun but win over anyone who interviews them, they’re really known for their high energy on and off stage. All the members have also said to be their fan, you need to be open-minded (which I think is true musically, but also personally as they are unapologetically themselves and as they can get a bit wild/fruity on and offstage). DC also gets a lot of love from fellow idols and producers due to their talent, fierce stage presence and longevity in the Kpop industry. They are also absolutely so close to one another. They often refer to each other as sisters, soulmates, friends brought together by fate. They all re-signed their contracts together and said they would only do it with all 7 members, and they often say they want to stay together as a group as long as possible. Jiu recently orchestrated them all getting Chanel friendship rings lol. Given how many hardships they’ve faced together as a group, it’s not a surprise that they are genuinely bonded.

honestly i would recommend watching the 2020 version of the "this is" series and then watching the rest if you want or have the time! but really just start from the 2020 version, shows a lot about their bigger personality traits, the newer ones don't include that as much imo bc they've already showed that in the older versions a lot

DC is literally the best girl group, not sure why people still sleeping on them...They should be the #1 gg worldwide famous... Each 7 members can mesmerize you equally good with their vocals, rap, personality or visual. I'm yet to find a group that can do that always... they have incredible live vocals from all 7 members. Unbeatable visual from all 7 members. Energetic dancing & choreography from all 7 members. Unique sound & concepts. Sweet, amazing & funny personalities from all 7 members. Meaningful lyrics, No bad songs and even b-sides are mostly title track quality. And they can do most genres great... The biggest mystery of Kpop that they aren't the most famous girl group...

10:28 I think you kind of misunderstood that line. Dc is not a black ship particularly because of the competition (albeit challenging) but more because they stand out so much from the local music. They do strong women, dark concept, hard hitting style which is obviously not the cup of tea of the kaudience in comparaison to girl group like newjeans, twice, lesserafirm etc...
I think it's best for you to explore their music first and explore their videos later. Their personality comes out in their music too. You will know which is who by the time you finish the music journey. I'm warning you, there are 83 songs to explore. Not including covers ( and they are cover queens). So take your time, get to know them really. They are worth the time and more.
Personally I think this guide was slightly 'off' about a particular thing. JiU is not actually the 'mom' of the group, she's the 'dad' of the group, Dad Jokes and all. She's really free-floating and laid back. She's closer to being a Hippie than being a Politician. SuA is actually the 'mom' of the group. Compared to JiU, SuA is the strict disciplinarian. She insists on the younger ladies being very proper with their language and showing deference to the older members. And not to be the sexist jerk here but SuA coincidentally is the Cook among all these ladies. She does most of the shopping and keeping track of what is needed at the dorm, and all the domestic home upkeep stuff. She takes charge, cracks the whip and makes the others do their chores. I really don't mean that she is the Mom for the domestic stuff, but that she is the Mom because she means business. I am actually a little bit surprised that SuA is not the team leader because she trained for the longest time and she can get the ladies to actually work. JiU is much more free-wheeling about things, not a disciplinarian at all. She's intelligent enough for the role as leader, she apparently has some administrative talents, but it really seems like the only reason she is leader above SuA is by virtue of age. On the other hand, having Miss Sunshine as leader seems much more attractive than having the Whip-Cracking unholy terror of a ball of energy for the leader.
I guess sua wasn’t the leader bc she joined the last to the company even if she had the most training, it wasn’t in Happyface Entertainment. Jiu was the one that first joined the company and trained there the most + the older and most confident/outgoing during that time. We are talking about 2013/2014, Jiu was definitely was the right choice. And I think you underestimate Jiu’s leadership a bit tho, Jiu can be very disciplined when is off-screen related stuff.
@@Mm29051 I'm not under-estimating her leadership abilities. She leads by setting a good example which is VERY CLEAR to me by the attitude the entire group takes. She's the Sunshine personality so 'Charismatic Rabbit' really fits her. The group is nice to everybody because the Leader is nice to everybody. The group puts off massive positive vibes because JiU is the Leader. She has influenced the others in the best ways. But she also knows that nobody is perfect including herself. I think the group also needed somebody who is more of a stickler for rules than what JiU is. I have NEVER heard about JiU dressing anybody down about anything (in a recent video, an interviewer had asked at least one member what happens if JiU sees somebody making a mistake in the practice room. Somebody answered that she would just smile and continue on. JiU continued with that answer, that she is not perfect either so there's no reason to get mad or get mean about it. If the members know they messed up, they know they need to fix it before they get to the stage. No big deal). SuA does not hesitate to dress anybody down for something really dumb (including JiU), on camera no less! We have seen and heard that.

Specially in the early days, I remember when Sua scuffed herself in a fansign and Jiu was trying to calm her down and scolding her lmao actually one of those few times she have been seen pissed off I think she is now more relaxed bc the members are already experienced idols, so she trust that if they make a mistake, they will corrected themselves, but when they were rookies Jiu was the one monitoring the members to make sure everyone is synchronized and telling them how yo do the choreography properly. When Jiu had been Yoohyeon’s roommate she had scold her for not being clean… in a old Dreamcatcher’s Note Jiu thought Yoohyeon was showing her phone number on the screen and Jiu dress her down very seriously for that… idk I think Jiu just show a particular happy image on screen and Sua “scolding” so often the members is bc she knows fans like that kind of part of her. But yeah, sua is definitely the mom, both are basically the same age so both share some kind of parental role in the group, really noticeable as both are the only ones referring the members as the “kids”. But still not 100% agreed that Sua didn’t take the leader role bc of the age, I think Jiu have other qualities that definitely make her a good leader and Sua being there as the second in charge really work good for them. I don’t think having the mom role (aka the strict one, etc etc) is equal to a good leadership necessary, both roles can work separately.
@@Mm29051 Oh, WOW! Okay, thank you for this. I am not doubting you, just to be clear. I'm not doubting that it happens because she is Human after all; it's just that I have simply never seen videos where she was actually angry. Obviously JiU had to establish dominance at some point or she would not be leader at all. As it is, sometimes 'the kids' still push boundaries with her but she is very secure in herself now. She does not panic or lash out, she seems really chill. BEST model for how to lead that I have seen. I have not seen many of the really old videos from when they first started out (I bet some of them are not even on the internet anymore). I have seen some stuff from the Minx era when they did some really short Lives but I never saw JiU get mad. It does not surprise me though because in any new group, the members need time to get used to each other's personalities and habits. Even having seen those Minx videos, a 20-year-old JiU having to act as a Parent to three teenagers is a little difficult to imagine (SuA had just turned 20 when Minx hit the stage at Oak Valley). The most 'adult' thing I saw her do back then was surprise Siyeon with a cake for her birthday and that was still a 'fun' thing. :)
No actually. Jiu is the leader because she works the best under stress and is better at promoting the group while also keeping the girls under control. Sua is very strict but she is also someone who can go overboard and does not know when to stop working. She has a tendency to over work herself into exhaustion, has even lost her voice due to pushing herself too far and can set somewhat unrealistic aims for the other girls (demian choreo was going to be extremely difficult and risky). Leadership isn't just dressing down and being the carer for the group. The girls listen to Sua because she is strict and there are consequences to not listening to her (aka her getting irritated) while they listen to Jiu because they (including Sua) defer to her understanding of their situations. Jiu is level headed, street smart, knows her own and other people's limit, isn't a PR nightmare like Sua can be, is less likely to crumble under stress than Sua is, was the star trainee of HFE. She is also the only oldest sibling in the group and knows better than the rest how to handle people. Sua is a very sensitive person and that has been seen over and over again, she takes criticism and hate from antis really hard while Jiu doesn't. And they share the responsibility. At the end of the day Jiu is the leader and Sua is her right hand woman in the team dynamic.

The This Is series is well worth watching. They are broken into yearly seasons, 2020 (8 eps), 2021 (7 eps), 2022 (7 eps), 2023 (7 eps) and they don't replace each other so each season is worth watching so you could start at the beginning. There's a playlist for each on the insomnicsy_인썸닉씨 channel.

Each video is only 7 minutes long, so people usually combine a few if not a full season at a time for making a longer video. Just a suggestion since they're a popular set of videos that could pull in the views. They don't generally have much in the way of music spoilers and are move member highlights / fun / humorous videos. Your mouth will hurt from smiling.
Here's the thing: when it comes to bias picking in Dreamcatcher...whoever is on screen at the moment is your bias.

Now that there are 4 videos for each member it has become a big ask, but usually it's desired that if you react to This is... that you do the whole series. The newer ones aren't updated versions of the old ones, more like they each have different clips based on different aspects of their personalities (loud, clumsy, etc.). They all have their own charm. It's totally up to you if you want to do them all, but I recommend starting from the first ones (2020).
an album reaction to their first and only full album would give u a great starting point of their signature sounds and sample a lot of different vibes that they do!! dreamcatcher mind is always welcome it is genuinely such a fun time with the girls ❤

As you can tell they are indeed Chaotic, lol. I'll try to answer a few questions you had.
Jiu is more of the Dad of the group in the sense that she is more laid back and loves telling corny/dad dad jokes.
SuA, is just pure energy. While being very chaotic she's also like a co-leader for the group with her and Jiu sharing a lot of those responsibilities. She's more of the mom to Jius dad role.
Siyeon's representative animal is a wolf. I believe it was attributed to her due to her fierce stage presence and her ability to stare into your soul. Her solo song Paradise is one of the best examples of this, it usually elicits a physical reaction from people when they watch it. Her voice is something else. She's capable of these really powerful rock belts and also able to do really delicate airy tones.
Handong was a contestant on youth with you. She said she went there because she was lacking in confidence and wanted to try and get better. She was also getting very few lines around this time due to her confidence and the fact that she was still working on learning the language. Ironically, Handong's lines tend to be some of the most iconic in songs because her parts are usually in transitional points due to her light and delicate voice. She got stuck in China as she left the show due to Covid starting at the same time.
You are right, Yoohyeon is the start of the Maknae line. Her respective animal is dog and it's because she's such a big hearted loving person. She's truly like a big puppy.
Dami was the Maknae is minx and spent a lot of time being the 'cute' member during that era. I feel that the laid back, cool persona she has now is much more her real personality. She's definitely still chaotic, but a more laid back version, in comparison to the rest of the members.
Gahyeon always acts like she doesn't want to be called cute, but then she constantly puts out cute content and acts cute.
"Is that a Maypole", nope, that's their light stick. It has extensions that can be added. The base lightstick is like a magic wand but comes with two extensions to turn it into a staff. However, if you have more extensions you can just keep adding them. I believe they're in Guinness for the tallest lightstick.
They really are very close. Their 7th anniversary was the 13th, but they went ahead and resigned their contracts over a year ago. They also went and signed all together because they wanted to do it as the group.
When Minx failed the CEO decided to put it all on the line to try and make it work a second time. He sold the majority control of HappyFace Entertainment to have the funds available to debut them as Dreamcatcher. He knew that they had what it took and viewed Minx's failure as a management failure, which it mostly was. I believe Jiu said in an interview that the CEO said he would open a cabbage stall in order to fund them if he had to. Thankfully, they're doing really well now and all of the trials and set backs they've faced have only served to make them stronger.
There is another video I'd recommend called Dodging Disbandment and other extreme sports by Mera. It's not a typical guide and all of the info in it is centered around the groups hardships and how they've managed to stay in the game. It's more of an Industry essay targeted at Minx/Dreamcatcher.

And lastly, if you wanna hear Dami sing more you gotta listen to Jazz Bar ( maybe the live version) or Deja Vu (a masterpiece btw)

4 other members also participated in kpop reality show "Mixnine" by YG alongside 94 contestants. (Jiu, Siyeon, Yoohyeon and Dami)
Youth With You 2 was a bog-standard survival show that formed a short-lived group THE9. Handong was a contestant, and said in what was likely a producer-prompted interview for the show that she was not satisfied being a sub-vocalist in Dreamcatcher. Blackpink's Lisa was a choreography mentor for the show, but got luckier than Dongie in that she had headed back to Korea during the shoot before any travel restrictions hit, and conducted her choreography critiques remotely for the later episodes. Dongie came in 56th out of the 107 contestants, but that can largely be attributed to her getting virtually no screen-time - you saw seriously like 50% of her screen-time in the clips in this guide. (I watched the show because Jenny Zeng was on it, and only realized 5 or 6 episodes in that, oh, this was the show Dongie did.) The shoot was only supposed to be for a couple of months, but she got stuck their for the better part of a year. However, her Chinese agency did produce an album with her while she was there. The rest of Dreamcatcher ... really missed her, and I think she realized just how important she is in Dreamcatcher. She, like all the rest, renewed her contract well before the seven year mark.

Seeing that JiU and SuA are the 2 oldest members of Dreamcatcher They are considered the parents of the group. JiU, being the mother figure and SuA being the father figure.

In my opinion, their discography is basically a no skip. Odd Eye ( the return of Handong and Ice Blonde Siyeon) was my comeback as I found them during their Boca era.
Piri is my favorite title track. Dami and Siyeon are my bias (main vocal and main rapper.. unsurprising since Moonbyul is my Mamamoo bias and Solar is my Mamamoo wrecker), JiU and SuA are my bias wreckers. Handong is my wrecker of wreckers because she loves to come in a wreck Dami, Siyeon, JiU and SuA. All 7 members can dance, sing and rap- all arounders
Jiu being the leader and the bunny and the fake Makane energy are definitely in line with Solar’s Yeba energy despite being the leader. Jiu and Solar are two of my favorite leaders.. I don’t think any one but JiU and Solar could have lead their respective groups and the chaos that is brought. Jiu is a ray of sunshine.. the members tease her but also respect her.
Siyeon- one of the best main vocalist in KPop. Can also rap.. She made herself co-bias in Piri (which was 5 songs in for me as I went- Boca, scream, Deja Vu, You and I and Piri). I love my weird wolf. She killed me with the latest look rocked for the 7th year anniversary concert.. short red hair and a suit.. problem for a Siyeon bias..
Handong- I love her tone. She is so funny.
Dami- had me from the get go. Fierce and charismatic on stage, silent and chill.. mostly off stage. Deep voice, killer rapping and amazing vocals make me compare Dami to my Mamamoo Bias of Moonbyul.
Make sure you watch Insomnicy’s “this is” series- 20,21,22 and 23, some clips are the same because of how iconic they are, but they each have unique clips. It gives a really great read on their personalities. The duality and chemistry series are also great as it shows each member duality and how the members interact with each other. There is balance in the chaos. Insomnicy has a lot of great content, Kit works hard. DreamCatcher mind is their variety series that we all want a second season of.. it really shows their personalities too.
Jiu- “dad” and sometimes fake makane “kid” and a food lover. Bunny
Sua- “mom” and sometimes kid, crow tit.. queen= Leo
Siyeon- weird alien wolf.. if you know you know.. her representative animal is wolf, but she is also charismatic and fierce and powerful on stage from energy to “wolf gaze” in her eyes, expressions. For she is very very silly and very much a flirt off stage.
Handong- funny and sassy, cat. The only one who does not get SuA’s violence. She missed Scream and Boca albums/combacks for youth with you/covid pandemic as she is from Wuhan and had still been in china when it started thus she was stuck till restrictions were lifted and she could go back to South Korea. She was missed dearly by Insomina and her members during that time. She went on the show to gain confidence in her vocals and stage presence. Her former shyness was because of her lack of confidence in Korean along with her own abilities. The show did its job because the Handong that left after Deja Vu and a European leg of a tour is completely different from the Handong that returned late Boca era and for Odd Eye.

I normally can easily find a bias immediately from any group, but I can't with Dreamcatcher. The only group that have done that to me.
As a huge longtime girl group stan for years, Dreamcatcher has got to be one of the most loud, chaotic, unhinged, unfiltered groups out there (and it’s the best). If you enjoy a group with personality, they have it in spades. I remember a GOT7 member telling his members “omg they are the female version of us” and being shocked by it lol. They seem to mildly stun but win over anyone who interviews them, they’re really known for their high energy on and off stage. All the members have also said to be their fan, you need to be open-minded (which I think is true musically, but also personally as they are unapologetically themselves and as they can get a bit wild/fruity on and offstage). DC also gets a lot of love from fellow idols and producers due to their talent, fierce stage presence and longevity in the Kpop industry.
They are also absolutely so close to one another. They often refer to each other as sisters, soulmates, friends brought together by fate. They all re-signed their contracts together and said they would only do it with all 7 members, and they often say they want to stay together as a group as long as possible. Jiu recently orchestrated them all getting Chanel friendship rings lol. Given how many hardships they’ve faced together as a group, it’s not a surprise that they are genuinely bonded.
OMG them being the female version of GOT7 in terms of personality is so real lol. I love how close they are and how much its clear they love what they do

honestly i would recommend watching the 2020 version of the "this is" series and then watching the rest if you want or have the time! but really just start from the 2020 version, shows a lot about their bigger personality traits, the newer ones don't include that as much imo bc they've already showed that in the older versions a lot

It doesn't have as much of a view because some InSomnia's are still stuck on the 2021/2022 guide by Dreamworld which is equally good and is a fan favorite. The 2021/2022 guide is a fan favorite because of its excellent editing compared to the 2023 guide which is more simplistic in editing. The ultimate easy guide to Dreamcatcher 2023 by deuxae is also good if you prefer a more compact guide.
DC is literally the best girl group, not sure why people still sleeping on them...They should be the #1 gg worldwide famous... Each 7 members can mesmerize you equally good with their vocals, rap, personality or visual. I'm yet to find a group that can do that always... they have incredible live vocals from all 7 members. Unbeatable visual from all 7 members. Energetic dancing & choreography from all 7 members. Unique sound & concepts. Sweet, amazing & funny personalities from all 7 members. Meaningful lyrics, No bad songs and even b-sides are mostly title track quality. And they can do most genres great... The biggest mystery of Kpop that they aren't the most famous girl group...

When the first season of the series was out (2020 ver), I remembered asking kit (of insomnicsy) for season 2 as Dreamcatcher members themselves react to the series, the 1st season. Also the anniversaries vid, I think she has three vids for 5,6, and newest 7th, and JiU watched the 5th or 6th, or the "Road to fame" vid, where she mentioned it in one of the vlive.

I think you kind of misunderstood that line. Dc is not a black ship particularly because of the competition (albeit challenging) but more because they stand out so much from the local music. They do strong women, dark concept, hard hitting style which is obviously not the cup of tea of the kaudience in comparaison to girl group like newjeans, twice, lesserafirm etc...
I think it's best for you to explore their music first and explore their videos later. Their personality comes out in their music too. You will know which is who by the time you finish the music journey. I'm warning you, there are 83 songs to explore. Not including covers ( and they are cover queens). So take your time, get to know them really. They are worth the time and more.

Personally I think this guide was slightly 'off' about a particular thing. JiU is not actually the 'mom' of the group, she's the 'dad' of the group, Dad Jokes and all. She's really free-floating and laid back. She's closer to being a Hippie than being a Politician.
SuA is actually the 'mom' of the group. Compared to JiU, SuA is the strict disciplinarian. She insists on the younger ladies being very proper with their language and showing deference to the older members.
And not to be the sexist jerk here but SuA coincidentally is the Cook among all these ladies. She does most of the shopping and keeping track of what is needed at the dorm, and all the domestic home upkeep stuff. She takes charge, cracks the whip and makes the others do their chores.
I really don't mean that she is the Mom for the domestic stuff, but that she is the Mom because she means business. I am actually a little bit surprised that SuA is not the team leader because she trained for the longest time and she can get the ladies to actually work.
JiU is much more free-wheeling about things, not a disciplinarian at all. She's intelligent enough for the role as leader, she apparently has some administrative talents, but it really seems like the only reason she is leader above SuA is by virtue of age. On the other hand, having Miss Sunshine as leader seems much more attractive than having the Whip-Cracking unholy terror of a ball of energy for the leader.
I guess sua wasn’t the leader bc she joined the last to the company even if she had the most training, it wasn’t in Happyface Entertainment. Jiu was the one that first joined the company and trained there the most + the older and most confident/outgoing during that time. We are talking about 2013/2014, Jiu was definitely was the right choice.
And I think you underestimate Jiu’s leadership a bit tho, Jiu can be very disciplined when is off-screen related stuff.
@@Mm29051 I'm not under-estimating her leadership abilities. She leads by setting a good example which is VERY CLEAR to me by the attitude the entire group takes. She's the Sunshine personality so 'Charismatic Rabbit' really fits her. The group is nice to everybody because the Leader is nice to everybody. The group puts off massive positive vibes because JiU is the Leader. She has influenced the others in the best ways.
But she also knows that nobody is perfect including herself. I think the group also needed somebody who is more of a stickler for rules than what JiU is. I have NEVER heard about JiU dressing anybody down about anything (in a recent video, an interviewer had asked at least one member what happens if JiU sees somebody making a mistake in the practice room. Somebody answered that she would just smile and continue on. JiU continued with that answer, that she is not perfect either so there's no reason to get mad or get mean about it. If the members know they messed up, they know they need to fix it before they get to the stage. No big deal).
SuA does not hesitate to dress anybody down for something really dumb (including JiU), on camera no less! We have seen and heard that.

I think she is now more relaxed bc the members are already experienced idols, so she trust that if they make a mistake, they will corrected themselves, but when they were rookies Jiu was the one monitoring the members to make sure everyone is synchronized and telling them how yo do the choreography properly. When Jiu had been Yoohyeon’s roommate she had scold her for not being clean… in a old Dreamcatcher’s Note Jiu thought Yoohyeon was showing her phone number on the screen and Jiu dress her down very seriously for that… idk I think Jiu just show a particular happy image on screen and Sua “scolding” so often the members is bc she knows fans like that kind of part of her.
But yeah, sua is definitely the mom, both are basically the same age so both share some kind of parental role in the group, really noticeable as both are the only ones referring the members as the “kids”. But still not 100% agreed that Sua didn’t take the leader role bc of the age, I think Jiu have other qualities that definitely make her a good leader and Sua being there as the second in charge really work good for them. I don’t think having the mom role (aka the strict one, etc etc) is equal to a good leadership necessary, both roles can work separately.

I am not doubting you, just to be clear. I'm not doubting that it happens because she is Human after all; it's just that I have simply never seen videos where she was actually angry.
Obviously JiU had to establish dominance at some point or she would not be leader at all. As it is, sometimes 'the kids' still push boundaries with her but she is very secure in herself now. She does not panic or lash out, she seems really chill. BEST model for how to lead that I have seen.
I have not seen many of the really old videos from when they first started out (I bet some of them are not even on the internet anymore). I have seen some stuff from the Minx era when they did some really short Lives but I never saw JiU get mad. It does not surprise me though because in any new group, the members need time to get used to each other's personalities and habits.
Even having seen those Minx videos, a 20-year-old JiU having to act as a Parent to three teenagers is a little difficult to imagine (SuA had just turned 20 when Minx hit the stage at Oak Valley). The most 'adult' thing I saw her do back then was surprise Siyeon with a cake for her birthday and that was still a 'fun' thing. :)
No actually. Jiu is the leader because she works the best under stress and is better at promoting the group while also keeping the girls under control. Sua is very strict but she is also someone who can go overboard and does not know when to stop working. She has a tendency to over work herself into exhaustion, has even lost her voice due to pushing herself too far and can set somewhat unrealistic aims for the other girls (demian choreo was going to be extremely difficult and risky). Leadership isn't just dressing down and being the carer for the group. The girls listen to Sua because she is strict and there are consequences to not listening to her (aka her getting irritated) while they listen to Jiu because they (including Sua) defer to her understanding of their situations. Jiu is level headed, street smart, knows her own and other people's limit, isn't a PR nightmare like Sua can be, is less likely to crumble under stress than Sua is, was the star trainee of HFE. She is also the only oldest sibling in the group and knows better than the rest how to handle people. Sua is a very sensitive person and that has been seen over and over again, she takes criticism and hate from antis really hard while Jiu doesn't. And they share the responsibility. At the end of the day Jiu is the leader and Sua is her right hand woman in the team dynamic.
In my opinion, the elimination show which Handong joined is not worth to watch😢. That’s a pay for win game in China. Just my opinion…
