It's really refreshing to see a brother with a micro loc channel. The starter loc struggle has been too real for me (I have twist micro locs) 😭 I'm subbing as some of your videos I found this week from a year ago have been so helpful. Sending love from London, UK 🇬🇧✌🏾
I’ve had locs for 1.5 years, but I was living in a country with a tropical humid weather until recently, so I never experienced having locs in fall/winter until now and I didn’t have to worry about dryness. Finished my retie yesterday and with the cold my scalp is super dry and itchy and feels like it’s on fire, so I had no idea how to care for it until watching this video 🥹
I’m glad you said this- I searched this video because I could t understand why my scalp is suddenly so itchy after a retie when it never used to be, but that’s why- I started locs and moved to Puerto Vallarta two weeks later. Now I’m back in the US, not in a tropical environment, not close to the ocean. Makes so much sense!
man thank you so so much… im currzntly in france and im microlocksed for like two months ago. everything was great until i got my first retie a week ago… since then i truly cant live anymore, my head is itching so so much (rn its 3.am and it awakens me lol im so fed up ???) my locktician isnt really used to that kind of issues so first of all thank u so much for the recognition i thought i went nuts 😂 i didnt want to get a shampoo cuz my locks are not mature yet but i ended up doing one anyway… it kinda relieved a little bit but its still itching, i put jojoba oil directly on my scalp (which i read was bad to do and that hurts me bc i wanted to be perfect about my new microlocks but i have no other choices…. and even that stopped relieving me LOL) sorry about that very long text but im so grateful for this video, im going to buy your scalp élixir and i hope youll have and excellent day bro ❤️ (if you have more pieces of advice im all ears !)
No need to apologize. I love all of the comments and I’m truly grateful that you took the time to watch and comment. I’m so happy that you could relate to my video! Hang in there and know that as your locs mature, you can try more things and worry less about messing your locs up! 🙌🏾✨
@@DavidJaysWay your kindness truly make my day (or my night lol) but thk u so so much ❤️❤️ im just kinda nervous cause i got 2months baby locks and was scared to ruin everything (the shampoo, the scratching and putting oil directly on my scalp were things i feel like im not supposed to so…)
I am 12 years with sisterlocks and still have itching no flaking after a retie and sometimes have to take styles down due to the itching so I am going to try this n thanks!
When my scalp itch I uses my spray bottle with water peppermint, black castor oil etc.. and yes for me it’s the warm affect of soothing my scalp that make my scalp calm the heck down 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yesss Right… as long as in OUR OWN MIND IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE… baby be.. bring it on. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 David.. people do not know or understand until they get into the itchy scalp.. I bet they will try this try that.. then they will say ‘what did David do to help his itchy scalp?” And they gonna look try do and post on your page Thank you David. Cause like me… it’s YOUR PAGE that is my go to for how to care for my micro braid locs. Yep I trust your journey I see your process progress and I take your advice.
I use the royal oils line and they work wonders for me! Royal Oils Head and Shoulder Scalp Treatment: amzn.to/3Lr8XxG Royal Oils Scalp Elixir : amzn.to/3O1DDqT
Okay, so it's getting hard for me to sleep on my locs. They're giving me a headache. I've had a bonnet the whole year and a half. Is it time to move to a sock? Will that stop them from bunching?
We can’t have you losing out on sleep. Those hair headaches are no joke. Have you ever tried doing the pineapple 🍍 or Cynthia doll look with satin scrunchies? That way you can angle your locs up while you sleep and aren’t sleeping directly on all of them.
@@DavidJaysWay I haven't because my hair grows evenly all around so my ponytails are weird. I'll give it a shot with a scarf. I gotta go buy some scuncis. I hope this works. Thank you!

I’m sorry that you had your experience that drastic difference because it’s no joke. But I’m glad my video was helpful 🙌🏾✨

It’s crazy how much the weather and our environment affects our hair and scalp!
Me too! I'm on my second set of locs. I am definitely experiencing excessive itching. Could I be allergic to the rosewater?
It’s definitely a possibility. Try not using it for a week and see if the dryness clears up.

Please let me know if it does. It’s a long shot but the only thing I can think of to get your locs out of the way some!
