    Thank you for this. You might save someone’s life. The printed instructions are not just confusing but I am convinced are not correct. Lone wolf has a video on their website of the president of the company putting it on per the instructions (straps from behind up through legs first) and it is clearly not snug and secure when he is finished.

    Thanks a million. I have had a couple of theses cheapo harnesses for years and could not figure them out. Its too simple ! Now I have one and my adult Son has one and we will use them. As a bonus, I will be up on the roof to inspect some stuff. I am going to tie off a safety line. Hey ! its what I have to work with and is one step closer to safety. THANKS!!! Rocky

    Thank you very much for this video. I am new to tree hunting, and bought 2 harnesses that were not rigged. Now I am set. :)

    Dude this changed my whole outlook. I have sticks and a stand and I was going to try to start hanging them with nothing on. And I went and picked up the harness lone wolf gave me and I seen it had a linesman belt, and watching your video because the instructions suck might have saved me from falling lol

    so on first harness you go around front of leg......second harness go behind....which is correct?

    • @GeorgiaAssassin
      @GeorgiaAssassin  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends on how the harness is made and where the loops are. Either way will work.

    thank you so much for this video! but one thing i still don't get... the part that goes on the tree... sure it will cinch down and would be fine if the part that you tugged on was what your harness attached to, but you attach your harness to the loop coming off of metal, right? and when you pull on that it totally loosens... makes no sense to me.

    • @GeorgiaAssassin
      @GeorgiaAssassin  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to go through the metal ( buckle) and then go back through the front of the buckle. Opposite of the direction you started. Under, over, back over and under to the front. Hope this helps, if not, I'll make another video about this tomorrow.

      Matt Hedglen, I'm glad that it helped you out! They aren't the most comfortable harness, but they do work. I use my (free) Lone Wolf, or Guide Gear harness often. Thanks for watching!

    One question. How do you use the SRD strap? I can find nothing on how to use one?

    • @GeorgiaAssassin
      @GeorgiaAssassin  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I personally never use it.... But, it is for you to step into with one foot in the event you were to fall and had to wait on help. You would use it to stand up so your blood could circulate until help arrives. It needs to be attached directly to the portion of the harness that is supported by the tree ( not sure what length yours is). So, when you stand up the pressure is released from the harness. I've always figured if I fell I would wrap my hands and legs around the tree, take ( or cut ) the harness off, and slide down. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

      What are you supposed to do with the extra strap while wearing the harness tho, in having issues

  • @JTomaske92
    @JTomaske92 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey man. So i have the exact Lone wolf fall arrest harness you show how to put on. But it came with 2 straps that say they are the "linemens belt" and i cant figure out how these can be used as a linemens belt. Any chance you know what im talking about and how it works?

    • @GeorgiaAssassin

  • @scottrockett6382
    @scottrockett6382 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Appreciate this! Feel like these straps are going to cut off circulation if you were ever hanging in there for over 2 min. I’ll pass…

    • @GeorgiaAssassin
      @GeorgiaAssassin  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They're best just to have as a backup. They do come with a foot strap that you would use if you did fall. It attaches to the tree strap. If you fall, you put one boot through it and it will allow you to stand up so you don't lose circulation.

  • @holdenthompson1235
    @holdenthompson1235 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wrong. You don't wrap them. They go behind and through your legs to the front. Js. Great video though

  • @mulespur4806
    @mulespur4806 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Let me start off by saying if you tie you loads down with any type of ratchet strap then you know the load capacity what everyone is calling this cheap is if fact the same damn meteral used it the high dallor ones use and it will save your life so don't be so quick to dis regard this harness!!! Not everyone has a 70 thousand dallor a year job or a wife that lets them spend rent money's!!

    • @GeorgiaAssassin
      @GeorgiaAssassin  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Mule spur, Have you ever heard the saying " if you don't talk, no one will ever know" Look, even ratchet straps have different quality levels. The straps may be the same, but the actual ratchets get higher in quality with each additional $ spent. I'm sure you know that... 🤔The same concept applies to Safety Harnesses. Cheap/ Free harness = terrible instructions, lower weight capacity, lacks wearable comfort and doesn't fasten to the tree as easily, but they will work. This video was not about bashing the free or cheap harnesses. You completely misconstrued the purpose of this video. It is about helping people to know and learn how to use it, so they dont have to go out and buy an expensive harness unless they want to. It has nothing to do with salary or spending rent money, which is a ridiculous comment and assertion. Never the less, I appreciate you watching and for commenting. I had a good laugh reading it 😂.

    • @mulespur4806
      @mulespur4806 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GeorgiaAssassin I understand your video but when you're intro says cheap and not cheaper then you yourself says people throw them in the trash. you mean comfort not cheap so when your intro says cheap harness then your insinuating that the harness is not any good and cheap as in use at your own risk, what you really mean is it's not comfortable and if you want a comfortable one you'll spend more money!

    • @GeorgiaAssassin
      @GeorgiaAssassin  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@mulespur4806 I literally called it cheap because most of these style harnesses are FREE when you buy a hang on or climber. What is less expensive ( or cheaper) than free? A lot of people do throw these free aka cheap harnesses away. I have kept a couple of these as spares in case I forget the seat belt style harness that I have had since I was 12 that I still wear today. Good luck hunting!
