I’m extremely grateful for this interview. It gave me such fantastic insight into one of the more fascinating characters in the music world, as well as one of the greatest to ever play the drums.
Beautiful, real, human times before the social media shit. Social media might kill the core of humanity, indeed. It already affected big time how people communicate, feel and make descisions. And that's pretty powerful already.
@The Drummers Corner nah Jon Theodore is way more than a rock drummer. The stuff he did on Deloused in the Comatorium, Amputechture, and Frances the Mute is pretty complex. When it comes to Yussef he may be the least complex but he creates pockets that are unique and groovy.
@The Drummers Corner Bro drop it lol. You took the whole fun out of this conversation lol. Also the last time I saw him he performed with Queens of the Stone Age and that was less than 20 years ago.
Me sitting at my work desk at home in -2 degrees Fahrenheit RBJ: Ain't no chestnuts roasting on an open fire in LA during Christmas. It's 85 degrees here.
@@jammcard Absolutely nobody was like Elvin, Tony, Billy or Gadd etc when they came along. You've got to bring something new to the table if you want to be in that crowd. Imo
Part of being the greatest is the type of person you are. A big part of THAT, is humility. Whether or not someone is better than u, appreciate what they do and where they are on their journey. Bruner is amazing, but I don't see / hear him throwing dirt on greats' names like you just did
Music isn’t sports so it’s hard to say he’s the greatest by some stats. I think in skill terms he’s absolutely one of the best to EVER do it yet I think so is Tony Royster, Eric Moore, Thomas Pridgen etc. if he’s the greatest to you than that’s legit and respectable! He’s not my fav but I’m not delusional lol he’s him no doubt and I’ve learned from him in the interview. ✨💯
I love him but there is NO greatest drummer alive. Art is about feeling, emotion. R Moe Tucker, Ringo Starr the worst drummers alive or is, or is it Jdilla the best non drummer to make drum beats or is Mick Fleeetwood a great drummer, or horrible? Jimi Hendrix the greatest guitarist or is bob Dylan who influenced him..There is only ONE BILLY COBHAM..
Greatest drummer alive? Even if we are take professionalism off the table, there are other drummers who can play. I can name 3 right now: Mike Mitchell, Xavier Ware, and Mason Guidry, and I'd out them all up against RBJ doin what he does. Yes he's super talented, but he's not the only one in the world, and the others will show up to the gig on time and do what they are being paid to do.
Biggest lesson from Ronald Bruner : Never being afraid of failure
💯💯💯💯
I'm 46 and still struggling with that one.
tell me why the last couple days i’ve been going back into a ronald bruner rabbit hole, THEN THIS DROPS.💀😭😭 that’s manifestation booiiiii

Someone needs to redo this interview, of how he LOST all his gigs 😂
Get d fuck outta go heal him if you’re so concerned

Awesome comment
The Jazz was Smooth and Creamy. haha! Thanks for the great Interview.
These boys got good genes. Him and Thundercat looks like they're in their 20s
the bruner family seems to be like the modern age wootens.
Great point!

Such an incredible drummer.
The best?
@@jammcard definitely in the conversation. Deantoni parks, Jon Theodore, and Yussef Dayes are high on my list.

@The Drummers Corner that's not true but to each his own.

Man! A great dude! Can't wait to hear'em live one time...

Great dude. Played with him. He will "F" with the time to mess up the band. Ya gotta count when playing with him.
I gotta start waking up like that
Everyday is a new chance!

this is so fucking sick
Last I checked Dennis Chambers is still alive…..
unconventional asf - love the energy tho , himself despite of . love to this man - NO ONE is like RBJ .. he knows it tho 🫡🤝🏽
No one indeed

Get jd beck on it pleaseeeeee
Noted!
nobody is on Ron’s level. All time he’s the greatest easily. Forget the legends he passed them up easily 🐐🐐🐐🐐

@@parist2732 whose names did i throw dirt on? he’s the greatest ever. i don’t care what nobody say
@@Joshstix95 🤣🤣 ok then stick to being deaf and arrogant lol
@@Joshstix95He's great as are a lot of other guys but there is a history and community in drumming.
Respect and humility is important.
I still think Ron is the goat. I don’t see nobody that can hang with Ronald (skill wise) but you have a point
Why is Orlando Brown on this cast? 😅
U for getting Chris Coleman and the goat Eric Moore
*wakes up* FHAWK
Cool
💙💙
Phew what a force of nature this dude is. I do not even have 0.000005% of the drive he has lol. I guess that's why I'm bootycheekz at the damn drums

They sell Bundaberg ginger beer in the U.S. it seems
Lookin like Orlando brown😂😂
I wonder if he’s related to Orlando Brown because they act and kind of look alike
Some of the best when he played with Allan Holdsworth.
Lately he been acting up a bit. It happens tho
Getting picked up by Jeff Porcaro is my wet dream.
so its all of em that are like that XD
