I’ve been looking for a video like this for months. Of course a woman made it..gonna try this and report back 🤞🏽 Coming back to report that it WORKED🙌🏽
I have a Whirlpool electric stove and was looking for a SIMPLE tutorial how to move, so I can clean behind it. Whirlpool videos kept showing COMPLICATED & DETAILED installation videos. Ugggh! Totally NOT what I'm seeking! Thanks for this demo. The first 2 minutes were perfect for me. I should have clicked on the women DIY videos from the get go!!!
Don’t be afraid. They are usualt installed by master plumbers and given enough flex to pull out and clean. Also the gas valve can be turned off do not worry about it. Just make sure to turn it back on. The odds of anything being loose enough to be disturbed by any sort of cleaning are astronomical.
Oh my goodness, this was so helpful! I'm always trying to help my parents around the house and for the longest time, I was to afraid to move the stove and possibly ruin something. Thx to you I was able to clean the abyss that are the sides of my stove♥ God bless!
Did you have any issues with the floors, or potentially scraping them when pulling the stove out? Just curious. That's the part I'm kind of worried about!
I didn't have any issues. My stove is new and the bottom has padding. I also have indestructible flooring. It really depends on what you have going on there. You could possibly roll it out onto a thin mat if you're worried about scratching the floor.
Your video came up on my feed as I was searching earlier on how to pull out my stove. Thanks for showing how to remove your stove. Mine is electric. I have never pulled it out since we moved into our home 9 years ago. Yeah, I know its an older stove and I guess I didn’t want to see behind it. We had 3 mice that came out from under the stove so now I need to see how they are getting in. I would recommend the fill the holes I saw in your wall with mesh wire I use a copper mesh wire I purchased on Amazon to prevent pests from getting inside your house. The mice issue has given me anxiety. We live in an older home and last year we had a mouse problem. I have a vegetable and tropical fruit garden which I didn't know when I started my garden that I would end up with mice and other critters I never had before the garden. I love my garden and I'm 3 years into it now for me to give it up. I wish other gardeners and homesteaders would talk about their pest problems more to warn beginner gardeners of what happens when you put in a vegetable garden. Thanks for making this look so easy. 😊
Thank you so much for sharing your story and for the tip about using copper mesh wire! That’s such a great idea-I’m definitely going to look into that. I can totally understand the anxiety mice can cause, especially when you’re trying to keep your home clean and safe. It’s tough, especially with an older home and a garden that attracts critters. It’s amazing that you’ve kept up with your garden for three years, despite the challenges, and I agree-it would be so helpful if more gardeners talked about pest issues openly. I’m glad the video helped, and I hope you’re able to figure out how they’re getting in. Thanks again for watching! 😊
I came across this video because I'm having the same problem. Idk if it's a rat or mouse but I heard it behind the stove and there's a hole with a pipe coming out, easy access inside the house.
@@tenminutetasks thanks ! I was running on a cement public walkway and sneaker got stuck in crack and went flying in the air and landed on my head and hands :(
Thnx sweetness I'm a grown ass man and have a fear of ovens because of a story I heard. A woman's stove blew up and her son was injured when they were moving it, he suffered permanent lung damage from the chemicals in the stove and had burns all over his body. Glad to know it was easy moving this thing how foolish my fears.
Thanks for this! I had a mouse in the house today and now I'm dreading having to search for its droppings. 😭 I figured behind the stove is the first place I ought to look because that's where I saw it hide earlier today before I trapped it. I'm so scared of what I'll find back there 😪
@tenminutetasks Fortunately it wasn't too bad at all! Mostly just a few years of dust build up. The mouse must have not been in for too long, maybe snuck in through the dog door. Thank goodness for that - I was preparing for the worst!!!
It really depends on what kind of surface your stove is moving back on. Is there something blocking it? It might require 2 people to lift it forward to tilt it a little, then move it back towards the wall, then push again towards the wall. I wish I were there to physically help you move it! Good luck!
Thank you very much. The flooring is carpet and that's why it was difficult. I ended up leaning it forward then used my hips to lifted. I'm proud of myself even though I was able to push it back a few centimeters 🤣🤣
my dad has clearly not cleaned under the stove when replacing it, he can be weird about that but a goo has clearly built up, I am really hoping I can clean it when he isn't home so he doesn't freak out. I'm so weirdly excited about it and I had to look up how to move it.
It can be tricky getting the stove back into place after pulling it out. One thing you could check is if the gas line or any wires are getting in the way. Sometimes they can get caught or bunched up, preventing the stove from sliding back all the way. Also, make sure that the legs or wheels on the stove are aligned properly with the floor. If that doesn’t work, you may want to gently move it side to side while pushing to help it slide back in. Hope this helps, and good luck!
I know the feeling! I was totally scared and tried watching videos and reading things to figure it out and I finally took the leap of faith. Now I can pull it out with confidence after doing it every year. As long as you move it slowly and carefully, you should be fine. Just take your time, and if you can, check to make sure the gas line has enough slack and isn’t being pulled too tightly. If you’re really concerned, it might be worth turning off the gas supply just to be safe while you clean. You've got this! 😊
@@tenminutetasks I ended up using a dolly to lift it up, there was years of grease and guck down the sides that had it stuck in place, so I cleaned it the sides real good.
With grease, soap works! Leave it on for a bit to break down the fat and scrub with baking soda, which is an abrasive cleaner and that should be all you need to wipe it away with a warm cloth.
"when you're SCARED" - I feel so seen. Thank you!!!
I see you. ❤️
@@tenminutetasksOh my goodness you are so brave! Can you clean behind my gas oven please ?! I'm still scared! LOL
This video was a god send! I had all the same fears doing this and you eased them all. Thank you sooo much!

Thank you. I couldn't figure out how to take my oven out with the anti-tip bracket.
Glad I could help!

Yay! That's awesome.
I was able to pull out the oven so easy. But pushing it back towards the wall is freaking heavy and won't move at all. What to do?

Carpet? Oh no! That makes it much harder to move. Good for you for doing that all by yourself!
Nice job.
Thanks!
Thank you for the how to! Im doing my grandmother's oven and ooof was it worse than yours! Lol
Oh no! So, how did it go? 😳
Stovetops open too and it makes cleaning that seam a breeze.
It does for the electrical ones. Thanks for sharing that great cleaning tip!

Holy crap. I'm so impressed you did this. It looks terrifying.
It was scary, but I know it's less scary the more often I do this. I'd say doing this once a year is ideal.
Great. Thnx!!

The top of the oven will open up too if you want to clean in between those cracks.
Great tip, thank you for sharing!
I pulled mines out. Now I can seem to get it to go all the way back in

That hole that you see in your wall right there is a mouse hole you might wanna close that.
