@@JeremySiers have you dabbled with butters that have beeswax? Curious on your preference compared to the whipped style with Fresh Beards? Thanks for the response!
I’ve tried just about every type of beard product on the market over the last 8-9 years I’ve been growing a beard, 😉. Although I will say it’s getting harder these days because there are just soooo many new products and companies popping up everyday. Don’t have a huge preference and to be honest a lot of them run together. And a lot of time I make my own. The ones I mentioned in this video are kinda some standouts for me right now though. I like the companies, all of them make my beard feel pretty great. To answer you question about butters though 🤔..... for just straight softening and conditioning I’d prob prefer something with no wax. But on those days my beard is a little grumpy and has a mind of its own, something with a little wax can help tame the beast 😂. Fresh beards does have some amazing scents. Favorite scent to date though if still temple smoke from BeardBrand. Just love the way that stuff smells.
Also a good tip is to not mix too many competing fragrances together either shampoo/conditioner, body wash, beard oils, balms, deodorant, colognes/body sprays, plus clothing detergents/fabric softeners keeping everything neutral until the last layer. I have a fragrance free beard oil then a nice smelling balm also if you purchase items from the same company you can usually get the same fragrance across the product line.
Very good observation! I was thinking about it today. I have a cologne that is strong and my beard oil is also kind of strong. So I feel it competes and may be overwhelming. So I started to avoid the cologn when the oil is strong.
To All: Why do I have one? I toyed with one on and off, but now I keep one as a memory of my son who passed away. It is a memento, not some hipster thing. Never prejudge why a person sports a beard. Live and let live. If you have a question, ask. Thanks, Jeremy, for the wonderful reviews and advice.
I found when I first started growing my beard and started using beard oil that it actually soothe the skin and made that itchy almost painful skin but it was only temporary I would have to put it on about three or four times a day to ease it all day.
I think you nailed it. Oil is easier to put in and it's good for the skin and restoring oils to the hair. Butter is a creamier version of oil. I prefer butters if possible. Balms are thicker thanks to the wax and are gonna give more of a styling hold. Just kinda depends on what the user is looking to do and what medium they prefer
Oh yeah finally we got the Viking mustache... Dude your mustache look great more then before you just decided to let it go , am so happy for this change ... thanks for your time to made this video .
Jeremy...fantastic video. I found your channel the other day and have been loving watching videos from your library. The first one I watched was the big ice cubes video...loved it. Your style, aesthetic and delivery is outstanding. I can't wait to see more. You can tell how much of a professional you are for sure. I feel more manly and inspired after each one!!! Keep up the great work.
Dude thanks for this very helpful video. I'm new to the beard growing scean and was confused by all the beard products. You laid it out so now I know what's up! Oh and man that's a nice beard you got there my man.
I've had my beard now for 3 years and I can pretty confidently say normal products work well enough, shampoos and conditions for beards are not needed and beards in general can be as complicated as you wish. It can be high maintenance if you want or it can be low, I wash my beard once a week (with shampoo) and rinse it daily (mostly in the morning while washing every other day with normal conditioner only. I don't actually own any authentic beard oils, I've just stopped buying them and substituted with argon oil (pretty cheap if you buy a large bottle like $6 enough to last for a year) and leave in conditioner (I prefer the palmer brand) coconut which also reminds me I do use coconut oil on occasion. I get some people like to keep it high maintenance and nothing wrong with that but in the long run I think if it's something you want to keep you will eventually need to calm down and make the routine more simple. Only real beard related item I would recommend (while I guess not meant for beards) is a Kent comb they may seem excessively expensive to some for a comb but they are like magic lol they work extremely well and can pretty much de-tangle any beard and work really well as a quick touch up if you have a long beard (wind can really make a nice beard look neglected). I personally like afro picks tho as mines pretty thick and about 8-9 inches long (traditional full beard) and combing can... I don't know how to put it... just compact your beard and make it look odd afro picks work well for spacing it out and giving it a normal love. I have a lot of respect for these channels I used them as well when I first started but not everything MUST BE designed for beards only you can get by really well with just your normal every day products (and as he said) some form of a oil in between.
Maybe should wash more than once a week. If it’s 3 years long, than I would recommend 3X a week. That’s only my opinion. Myself I have to wash 4-5 times a week I just feel it’s dirty, grimy with the beard oil I use.
Finally able to sport a reasonable beard in my early 30s, after years of wispy nonsense floating around a goatee, information like this is hugely beneficial - that beard-care aisle can be pretty damn confusing. Thanks for the vid, and you've got yourself a new subscriber.
an awesome review/explaination video, atm im using a beard butter that has grotein in (its sposed to be really good for growth and health of the beard?!!) it has a fairly neutral smell to it, not quite unscented, but near as! then after a few hours i will use a balm, i tend to switch scents on this depending on mood and occasion, my go to beard balm though is from the beard care club, and is their '50scent' scent (see what they did there!!) it has a vanilla tobacco smell, or i will use a uk branded balm, scented with lemon, raspberry, bergamot, and a few woody scents too... i will tend to use oils at night before i go to bed to give them the moisture they need over night

Subscribed. You had me a bourbon and good info. On the beard products! I’m getting quite a collection of beard products along with whiskies. I do have to say, by far, my favorite product to date is Scotch Porter’s cowash. I haven’t found the perfect oil or balm for my beard yet but am narrowing it down.
One of the most controversial things I hear is how the public considers Beardbrand's utility balm consistency is. What I did to try and make my Gold line last longer and feel more 'balmy' than 'buttery' is I filled my bathroom sink with the hottest setting water and placing the closed jar in the water. What happens is the oils and butters to melt to a liquid form without overheating the oils. Once it's in a complete liquid form, I stir the contents real well and quickly place it in my freezer. The end result provided me with a thicker consistency balm than what it was before (no shea butter beads). Not sure if anyone would think of doing this, but I thought what I did was groundbreaking and it really has provided me with the preferred consistency that I was looking for in ANY balm or butter. I highly recommend doing this with the Blank Slate balm and adding your own essential oils for scent and seeing what results you get.
Yo jeremy just ran into your channel & honestly I'm in love with it already. You killed it on this video & were pretty spot on with the beard product's. Keep prospering!

Usually beard-channels over do it with the macho typa shit, but this seems more like some humour to spice the content up for someone who is genuinly just making content about beards, which is what they happen to enjoy. The entertaining twist makes the helpful parts even more enjoyable. Just commenting 'cause I know it gives videos traction and being my first time in this cannel, this seems like valuable content. Skrrt!
Jeremy, Great video/content. I started growing my beard about a month ago. I really appreciate guys with nice, well groomed beards like yours. I never realized how much care guys put into their beards. Now I appreciate a great looking beard all the more. How long did it take you to get the length that you have?
I am only four month in my beard growth, starting to play with some beard products. So far, I am not a big fan of oils, to be honest. Eventually they cause pimples under the beard, so I want to wash them off every morning, which is not good either. I find the best combination is a daily use of conditioner with some beard balm applied on top surface, not skin. I also found that 100% natural conditioners actually stiffen my beard, while those that contain some fatty alcohols make it softer (my beard hair naturally is very stiff). I tried to stay away from alcohols in the products that I buy initially, but did my research and found that not alcohols are the same. Fatty alcohols act more like oils, so now I am actually looking for product that contain oils and alcohols, but not much of other staff.
Hello Jeremy, I'm fairly new to your channel. I really enjoy your man shit Monday videos. Also I enjoy the music you add to it. I've been trying to find these types of rugged country instrumental tunes for backpacking trips. Anyways, I digress. Great video thanks.
I get stopped alot by people asking me about my beard (long like yours) , you probly do too, and they always want to know how I did it. First tip I give people is about the beard oil, it really makes a big difference. The other question I get is how to trim it, I prefer to see someone to do it but haven't had great luck since I came to Florida finding someone.
I came here to get beard tips (been growing it out for the last 3 months, but had a short beard for years). That intro made me sub (Brodie Lee / Jon Huber reference)
Another great video, love the channel. I really want to grow it out like yours. But, I get frustrated at about the 3/4 inch point and cut it short again. I suppose I just need to give it 6 months and leave it alone!
Hi Jeremy, I just recently started following your channel. Enjoyed the video on making "clear ice". Shits awesome! I started growing a beard about a month ago and my question to you is, when should I start using all of the oils, balms and butters and as it gets longer and thicker is there one product I should be using more the another? Thanks for your time and looking forward to future videos!
You can start using oil pretty early on. Like I mentioned in the vid, it’ll keep it from itching you to death in the early stages. Beard oil is pretty much a go to no matter what your beard length is. I still use it everyday. Balms and butters you can just start experimenting with after you have a couple months of growth depending on how fast your beard grows. See which you like better for your hair type. Some balms can be helpful at keeping things tidy during some of the unruly stages of growing it out. Some guys never use anything but oil. Just kinda depends on what you hair is like and what look you are going for. Hope this helps. 👍🏻
Hi Jeremy, so I have a question for you and it might sound a little stupid but I’ve just been having a really difficult time trying to get a straight answer on this. 1.) I know then washing your beard once or twice is where from what I understand we should be doing. And I use my beard or every day but I want to know when I start using a beard balm and I know it also depends on the wax consistency of it how often should I use it on my beard a daily or every other day? Or should I look more for a beard butter for that? 2.) no I have short to medium length beard my hairs are really fly out too much but I like to keep it some of the little hairs more under control so would a beard butter like when you were showing be sending more more to my use rather than something that has more wax?
Clear as mud yep, but the mud is a lot less thick now. :) Thanks Jeremy, great video. Is there a way to tell a quality product line from a not so great product line before spending money?
I dig it. You should check out Wildrose/Wildman oils and butters. I always order the Raven scent. It's like a woody rainforest smell. The ladies like it. Thanks for the great video, as always!
I'm growing my beard out more to keep up with my grandchildren's image of me being grandfather time. I've had a short white beard multiple times and kept it that way because of how it starts to curl after a couple of weeks. What's a good straightener that doesn't include a heating iron or heating brush for the task. Is beeswax the only one? Yes, I drive a Miata but am no way close to being a hairstylist. I'm shooting for the long STRAIGHT flat look because I'm tired of looking like Santa on a bad beard day.
New to this channel and have a question.are any of the recommendations paid ads other than the affiliate Amazon links? Ads aren't a problem for me but these days I need to know clearly what is paid support and what is not. Didn't notice anything in the video
Hey so hopefully you’re still monitoring this feed I just came across your channel I love it. What beard products would u recommend for people who struggle with acne prone skin. Cause if I do the recommended “not wash beard daily” I start to get acne flare ups. I know ur not a dermatologist but any thing you can recommend would be great.
That’s a tough one. When I was younger I had acne and it can be difficult to deal with. If you have to wash it, I would recommend just going with the most gentle beard wash you can. Something real mild that won’t dry it out too much. All the companies I mentioned in this vid make beard wash. I would try a few of those out and see which ones work best for you. And make sure your using beard oils to keep it hydrated. Good luck brother. Hope this helps. 👍🏻

This channel is like Peter McKinnon's but for beards and beard care instead of photography. I love it.
This was the best education vid on TH-cam!
This is a fantastic video; great presentation and easy to follow! Thank you.
Soft spoken and warm
Usually beard-channels over do it with the macho typa shit, but this seems more like some humour to spice the content up for someone who is genuinly just making content about beards, which is what they happen to enjoy. The entertaining twist makes the helpful parts even more enjoyable. Just commenting 'cause I know it gives videos traction and being my first time in this cannel, this seems like valuable content. Skrrt!
This video was to me very thorough. I appreciate that. Thanks for another great video.
Old Money is my go to oil or balm. Love that stuff. I have to give Temple Smoke a try.
I use Hawkins & Brimble stuff from UK. I love the smell of it;)
Thanks! Great beard video. Sometimes we buy to many stupid products trying to get it cheaper with hi quality. Balm and butter... thinking about it.
Great video & info! Let it grow! Thank you, good sir.
Jeremy... You're goals bruh. Beard, style, creativity and all. Keep it up my guy. Maybe one day I'll be as cool as you lol
Thanks brother 👍🏻
Jeremy, Great video/content. I started growing my beard about a month ago. I really appreciate guys with nice, well groomed beards like yours. I never realized how much care guys put into their beards. Now I appreciate a great looking beard all the more. How long did it take you to get the length that you have?
Great info! When I first starting growing my beard I had no idea what all the differences were. also Love these Man Shit Mondays!! keep em coming!!
Another excellent beard-centric video! Thank you!
Gotta look out for my bearded brothers! 🤜🏻🤛🏻
This dude speaks perfect sense. Good one!👍
Hello Jeremy, I'm fairly new to your channel. I really enjoy your man shit Monday videos. Also I enjoy the music you add to it. I've been trying to find these types of rugged country instrumental tunes for backpacking trips. Anyways, I digress. Great video thanks.
Have you found some of his songs ? can you write em down for other country lovers please?
I get stopped alot by people asking me about my beard (long like yours) , you probly do too, and they always want to know how I did it. First tip I give people is about the beard oil, it really makes a big difference. The other question I get is how to trim it, I prefer to see someone to do it but haven't had great luck since I came to Florida finding someone.
That Thatswhatshesaid subliminal tho 😂🙌🏻
Haha
I came here to get beard tips (been growing it out for the last 3 months, but had a short beard for years). That intro made me sub (Brodie Lee / Jon Huber reference)
Awesome video bro. I feel like you tackled that well! Just stumbled onto your channel stoked I did.
Thanks brother 🤜🏻🤛🏻
Very informative for new beards!
I use Beard Of God and Black Label. Both balm and oil.
Great! Thanks for the tips.
Zachary Thoeny Congrats on the decision to grow a beard!! Check us out Zach!!
Awsome man definitely a instant SUBSCRIBE
Man...really love your videos... you are a fuckinn inspiration for us to be who we are...our own choices...thank you Sir Jeremy!!
Clear as mud yep, but the mud is a lot less thick now. :) Thanks Jeremy, great video. Is there a way to tell a quality product line from a not so great product line before spending money?
A fount of knowledge! Thanks :)
I love the badass beard companies products. The coffee scented oils and balms are amazing!
Great video Mr, very informative 🙏🙏🙏
Dang, that was pretty damn informative!
Thank you so much went through a 100 videos came across yours and bam thank you soo much
For my UK peeps, i definitely recommend Mo Bros, good quality products and very affordable
I dig it. You should check out Wildrose/Wildman oils and butters. I always order the Raven scent. It's like a woody rainforest smell. The ladies like it.
Thanks for the great video, as always!
Always good when the ladies dig it. 👍🏻😉
Great way to get the significant other to buy into the beard... get them to like the scents! Great point
Great unbiased video
Wow this was great. Going to buy some beard butter from fresh beards
I used to use oil everyday and balm when going out or something but I recently tried out butter and I prefer it to the oil.
Very informative, thanks brother. That bourbon knowledge to 🤯 haha
Hemp oil bud! A new strong addition to the oil family.
It is, I use it in the beard oils I make myself 👍🏻
New to this channel and have a question.are any of the recommendations paid ads other than the affiliate Amazon links? Ads aren't a problem for me but these days I need to know clearly what is paid support and what is not. Didn't notice anything in the video
Facts, I been fighting that itchy phase for years. Thanks to beard oil I'm growing it out again after 20+ years
Good explainer. Are beard oils good for mustache too or are dedicated products better?
Loving the content Jeremy
Thanks my brother! Glad you’re liking it. 👍🏻
@@JeremySiers welcome brother and keep doing you
Great video 👍,,,I only use Mad Viking and Wild Willies oils, balms and butter,,never really needed a balm til my beard got some length to it.
Awesome video. What’s a good kit with everything in it (all in one)? Can you direct me in the right direction? 🙏🏽
Great explanation. Subscribed
Jamaican Black Castor Oil. Legendary
This video is truly the best video about beard products I’ve found on TH-cam,very informative,I’m a subscriber, greetings man

Hey Jeremy where can I buy the wooden double sided comb? I like the style and the convince of the 2 in 1, not a fan of plastics
