I’m a beginner, about to play my 2nd ever 9-hole round next week, so no handicap yet-my goal is building confidence and having fun!
Brett, keep pushing toward that 6 handicap while enjoying the game! Progress isn’t always linear, and I’m rooting for you every swing of the way. ⛳
Excited to see how this series unfolds-good luck! 😊
Really looking forward to forward to this, as someone whose handicap has gone from 26.8 in May to 19.4 really keen to see where the next improvements come from.
I’ve taken lessons consistently since playing again 3 years ago and have worked with the pro to tweak my clubs etc but as yet have not decided to replace existing irons (Wilson D7 forged) with a fitted set
Another brilliant idea for a series and Brett seems like a great bloke, as are Chris, Gary etc. You're killing it James - and you seem to pick your pals well
This series is gonna be great. I'll bet Brett makes it to a 6.
Lucky fella , what a brilliant idea for a series James ! I for one would love to have this opportunity to improve my game.
This is going to be one hell of a series
This will be the best series thus far. Can't wait to see the next episode.
I just started a couple of months ago so seeing what gives the most bang for my buck is interesting!
I’m looking forward to this series. Well done Brett. He always seems to fall apart when he’s playing you!! lol. At least we can see now that he is a decent golfer. I’m sure you’ll whip him into shape James!! Onwards and upwards!!
I use the 18 birdies free version and love it gives me a up to date handicap that with the range finder is perfect . I play much better golf since I started using it for sure
Rules nerd question:- on 18, should Brett have had a penalty shot for repairing the chunked divot before playing his next one? Rule 8.1a (3).
A player may not...Alter the surface of the ground, including by:
Replacing divots in a divot hole,
Removing or pressing down divots that have already been replaced or other cut turf that is already in place, or
Creating or eliminating holes, indentations or uneven surfaces.
I keep thinking after every shot he just walks off and leaves you behind, but no, he's just a friggin gentlemen and repairing his divot. Respect
Really looking forward to this series! Enjoyed the first video. Although, can I request you put something similar in the video title each time? Find it difficult to follow a lot of your series due to inconsistent names of video titles.
Bret is one lucky bloke, make sure you make the most of it, very envious, good luck Bret hope you get there.
Brett just needs someone to take his chip shots for him.
Looking forward to the rest of the series. Expecting great things!
You n chris..bang on..spoiling ya channel lad..with this...bobby n you..miles better..😢
One thing that helped me cut strokes early was avoid trouble: use a club on every tee that results in staying out of water, out of bounds, and bunkers and retire the hero shot. The goal was using a club I would hit 80% of the time well. Yes, often the driver resided in the bag. Also, once you are pretty consistent with your irons on full shots. learn what you do with all of your irons with a real half shot. Record and know your distances. Also, master the punch shot to exit trouble. You mentioned putting, green reading, slope, etc. That is a whole different portion of the game. That takes real work. If you can two putt regularly, you can score.
What an opportunity! Good luck, Bret!
You can do it Bret 👍.
I tried the stats route a couple of years back with a notebook ( technophobe) but got too fixated on it and, I think, it actually affected my game making me chase up & downs, GIR etc! However, I now have a Shotscope watch (family birthday gift) and that app thing looked quite user friendly so I might try again! Btw, that little “pep talk” James gave about achievable goals on back 9 reminded me of the New Year golfing resolution video which I also did and, amazingly for me, it worked!
What’s under the second head cover, twice in trouble off the tee on a par five and then chooses three iron!
Feet pointing right of green on second shots.
Coming up short on puts.
How come he’s not using the GT2 driver he got fitted for ?
Fancy helping an 18 handicap James 🤷🤷I played woolly not long ago in the heavy woollen league , actually played reallly good, lovely course ❤
Be a good series 👌 😊
18birdies is awesome for course previewing & strategizing!
What's happened to poor Foxy? He needs this treatment more!
can you link 18 birdies to your smart watch to to get distances too?
Be wary of too much planning and stats taking away the FUN in golf. The best laid plans of mice and men! 😊
Personally think, stick with the same clubs and practice a little more, new clubs will have little or no effect on your scoring .
Wow I wish I could hit a 3 iron
This could get interesting
That a free app too
No it is not!
@@boatbuilder781 thank you
I use the grint app right now too
What happened to your best man?
