NAAD - Documentary/Music

The film celebrates Dhrupad gayaki through the eyes of it's various practitioners. The late great Ustad Hussain Sayeeduddin Dagar and his sons Nafeesuddin & Aneesuddin who represent the 20th generation of the legendary musical family. And also Pandit Uday Bhawalkar, among the foremost vocalists of the Dagar gharana.

Thank you for making this video. It has been ten years since I first came to know about dhrupad music and sat in the presence of Dagar Guruji 🙏🏻 in a week long workshop in Goa Kala Academy in 2010. Guruji taught us Raag Bhairav and the bandish in Sooltaal “आदि मद अन्त शिव” which I still remember and sing fondly. It was a very beautiful and humbling experience and a cherishing memory for life.
