  • The Sig P365 is a great compact handgun. In 9mm it packs a solid little punch. But in this video we take a look at a very recognizable relative to the P365...but this time it's a 4.5mm/.177 air pistol. Utilizing 12g CO2 cartridges, this offers the ability to get some backyard training. From basic mechanics, to trigger pull, sight picture, and target acquisition, the Sig Airguns come close-ish to a somewhat realistic training tool without needing to head out to the range.

    As a replica airgun shooter I hope you don't mind me saying this, when you get a jam in a real steel firearm you just rack the slide and go again knowing that the gun will eject the shell/cartridge, airguns are very different. If you keep racking the slide the gun will just load more and more BBs into the breach, once the breach is full then they just start getting forced into the internal mechanism, which normally results in a slide jam or trigger failure (lock up).
    The answer to this is to remove the magazine BEFORE racking the slide again, that way you don't get misfeeds into the gun, once you've cocked the gun put the magazine back into the gun and then try firing it again. There's no eject system on a BB gun so there's only one way they come out and that's at the business end of the barrel.
    Different weapon, different system so a different discipline is involved, once you're acquainted with the procedure you should be good to go buddy.

      Absolutely makes sense and glad to hear the advice. It is something to get used to and it's been fun to practice! Thanks for watching!

      @frigzy3748 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This particular gun loads the BB when you press the trigger. All what slide racking does is resetting the trigger. Also, there is no chamber - it shoots directly from the magazine.

    • @ShaunShearman
      @ShaunShearman ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@frigzy3748 Yep, you're right buddy. When you pull the trigger it releases the hammer that pushes the BB forward and opens the magazine's internal CO2 valve. The slide doesn't reset the trigger though as it actually cocks the internal hammer so that it's working in a true single action when you pull the trigger. But you're right about the BBs not stacking into the breech though on multiple rackings, unless the magazine's spring pressure is 'popping' them into there when the BB guard is being disengaged when you slam the mag into the gun, that could be whats causing misfeeding issues. With a real steel auto you do need to slam the magazines home whereas with a CO2 BB replica nothing more than a gentle 'slide & click' is all that is needed.
      Well spotted though mate, I'd missed that point, so I appreciate the heads up, nice one.

  • @frigzy3748
    @frigzy3748 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    There is a trick how to load a whole bunch of BBs at once: depress the spring loaded gate at the top of the magazine with your left thumb while holding the magazine in the left hand. Then just pour the BBs in with your right hand.

  • @ecstatic2576

    I’ve notice when I shoot my p365 I have to do everything in the same order each time I empty the mag. I always rack it back and insert the mag then press the slide release button and it’ll rack it self. And yes overloading it will cause the spring pressure to be to high and it’ll cause jamming

    Also i think your video proves these guns just arent the same functionally as a real firearm also racking the slide to make clear does nothing on this model ive had bbs jammed in the barrel still after shooting, always lock the slide remove mag and look down the barrel when done to ensure empty, without c02 it cannot fire so looking down the barrel is a safe measure with certain airguns

      Other than teenagers having fun these are perfect for holster drills I picked one up when I first got my real 365 2 years ago because I just got my carry permit never really operated a striker fire gun with one in the chamber on my purse and or had one like that and had a bad habit of handling Guns by putting my finger in the trigger Loop from Missing Years of not shooting actual firearms they're also good for doing scenarios like self-defense scenarios with your friends is it a good shoot bad shoot but as far as the blowback it's a waste unless you're drilling or training with the actual 1.1 version of the real firearm that you have and you're going to carry and use everyday

    How realistic is the slide release when you put in a new magazine? I'm wanting to practice, among other things, reaching slide lock and loading a new mag from storage. Obviously, it won't be the exact same as the real thing, but is it close enough to be worthwhile? Snap caps are great and all, but I'd like to actually send something downrange!

      Best to go for the M17 if would like to use Pellets. The P226 takes BB and Pellet, but the M17 feels better. Bit notchy on the trigger as plastic belt driven and although they say its a semi auto, it's not really. Those points aside, still pretty good for practicing with- although would benefit from adding a red dot sight as the built in ones are not adjustable and tends to fire low.

    After I learned to shoot my real version of this with extreme recoil control thumb right in the slides the BB gun blowback felt more like of what I was actually shooting plus I run a mini a threaded barrel only thing that is not realistic after you master The Recoil control because the slide does have ulcerations where your finger and thumb should go when you're firing this real firearm or at least I do only thing I'm missing is the loud ass sound and I can actually do drills in the yard instead of shooting straight at a piece of paper these are awesome for drill purposes but the blowbacks I would not buy for simply to shoot the nastiest most accurate air gun that I owned that's a pistol is the Beeman that looks like a desert eagle it's like 49 bucks it's a top self stroke I don't know how but there's zero recoil at all and it literally is the most accurate air gun I've ever shot and has one of the best triggers of any gun system I've ever used I tell anybody that has never used one or wants to shoot accurate or small pest accurately that is a one shot and pretty hard to Pump from the top takes a little bit of strength gets tired after a while but you can have super tight targets and competitions with your friends to see who gets the closest it is Dead on from up to over 50 ft shooting the heavy jsb
