Great review! TYT is finally coming into its own with S2, now that they're no longer held back by MYM. This special in particular felt almost like one of the better FiM episodes. I can't wait to see what else they have in store for us!
I really enjoyed this special! I’ve been wanting an episode like this for Izzy for so long man. I agree that the powers are very annoying with how unexplained they are. But aside from that, this was the first time in so long that I really enjoyed G5. It just feels so good to say that. Also, Izzy’s rainbow mane is so adorable!
I liked this rainbow power in this better then the design of g4 it less weird and less busy. Now I have to wonder what are this shards of the nova different colors etc. could it mean more... scared to theorize. But maybe it will be fun going on. I enjoyed Destiny and hope we will visit the jade sea more often.
My favorite episode from season 2 was the lone Alicorn episode I also love that sunny has a drive to find more Alicorn’s. It would be great if tell your tale was its own universe, and I really hope it is. I’m so glad I kept watch G5. I don’t really like the random magic doing anything too. But I agree that it does feel more like G1 in that part. G1 always filled me with awe with how mysterious its world was.
I'm glad you liked it too bad your friend addy hate it because she hate how magic fixed everything oh please it's was amazing and better than half of make your mark specials (1 and winter wishday) 😡😡
I mean i cant blame sunny for being in alicorn form when making breakfast. Alicorn form makes things easier. We would all use for things like that if we had it. Its realistic because dangerous life threatening things wont happen all the time. I think they should just make sunny full alicorn
Sunny might be getting used to the "alicorn" status. As if this were now part of her entire life. Personally, I would like them to give her the option of whether or not she wants to be a "full alicorn." And if She accepts "immortality", at some point, I hope that's her decision.
(Just imagine): That you could create (& more importantly, "poof" out) many "ghost squid tentacles" that are longer, faster, better gripping than your flesh arms & fingers. ->This is how it feels for Sunny [she was born & grew in a non_magical, all_earth_pony community... just like you, muggle human!]. The flying thing is "fine" for her, but it does not really impacted in her day_to_day life [only because she was a master roller skater].
Im pretty sure these sea ponies are also hippogriffs, the comic coming out shows the g5 characters as sea ponies and theyre different from how Destiny was designed, just like the g4 sea ponies
The I.D.W. comics are not canon (they only get a "heads up" from HASBRO about the future toy line, they will NEVER "talk" with the writers at Atomic Cartoons). . Hippogriffs did not had cutiemarks. -> Destiny is likely a unicorn (a pony in "sea form", probably born that way). This is why she recognized one (stories about her ancestors). . The ability to swap forms between "land" & "sea" was originally in a single powerful artifact (the "Pearl of Transformation"); but it was splitted into 108 "shards" (the royal & noble families of hippogriffs have 1 for each member); it was only a matter of time before a few dozens will be inherited/given/sold/stolen; ending in the hooves (now fins) of ponies (seaponies). -> Unless there is a nearby island/atoll, the Jade Sea is probably a "sea form only" comunity. It could be the case that in the past, the few "Shards of Transformation" they had available were taken out (either on purpose, or by some renegade/traitor ex-seaponies), leaving the rest behind "stuck" in the bottom of the ocean.
Make Your Mark should have ended with Opaline's defeat in my opinion. They introduced a new villain and are not gonna show her in the same show? Dumb dumb. And Comet not having any role so far in Season 2? Super dumb dumb.

What "...dude" is likely referencing is some of the best storylines (or rather, the most famous released in the last 10 years; reviewed everywhere on TH-cam). -> You could check out the World of Warcraft videos in Lily Orchard´s "A Glass of Water" youtube channel (she is also a horsefamous transwoman like you!).
I think it was TYT writers who had the Blockywockys. Hmm, our Alicorn, who united all the the pony tribes together again spends her time at a smoothie stand. What can we do to show some character growth. I know, we'll give her a slightly bigger smoothie stand! So creative! Man I sure do love TYT's writing!
I made a whole video about Sunny's character recently, and I explained why the smoothie thing is good for her character. It's not like she doesn't have other things going on. In TYT S2, it looks like one of the big directions for her character is her loneliness as the only alicorn, and probably the eventual discovery of Skyros. This wasn't an episode about Sunny. I don't understand what you're complaining about.

The unnecessary comparisons made with her and Misty while trying to make her look like a bad character compared to Misty. Her character is not the main focus with this episode why is this person even upset? I don’t want to disrespect anyone so sorry if I sound rude.

Yeah, the last several episodes have been good! They really should tone down the magic stuff, though.
Instead of rainbow streaks, Izzy's transformation should have her being tailored in angelic armor.

I like part-time alicorn. It’s a key point that the protagonist of G5 is an earth pony after how badly they got shafted in G4.
