I think there's a few approaches to freestyles, theres off the top and theres off the top with occasional written aspects that you've memorised that you put into sections so you can keep thinking of new lyrics. I don't think listening to a beat over and over and writing lyrics for it is a freestyle, if its prepared in advance before performing then I don't think it's a freestyle unless they recorded the initial freestyle they did, wrote the lyrics from that and rapped it. I.e. a lot of rappers that go on Radio for fire in the booth or similar. Emphasis on that's what 'I think', people can have their own interpretations, I just think that there is a difference between written and freestyle, its just not always obvious which is which unless its done off the top live. (without a phone or paper infront of you)
