You should do an episode that's basically watches for beginners. So tell people what things are and how things work. I'm sure there's lots of people like me that like watches and are interested in them but don't know much about the craft
Been a member of Watchuseek for years, and have learned a lot about the innovation and artistry of watches... originally I signed up just to learn about my grandparent's and great grandparent's watches that I had restored, for my mother and I... but stayed to look for watches I loved as a kid - it's a great community and I highly recommend any watch enthusiast to check that out.
Came via Joe Rogan's channel. You got new subscriber! that guy knows his stuff! next time i am getting a watch, i will stop by Weiss hopefully by then Weiss will have a metal band
Great first show and can't wait for more. Have gotten a few watches From C&C and sold a few and have to say they are one of the best. Keep up the good work.
I wish crown and caliber wasn't so expensive. I looked into them and they offered a discount right away that was the budget for each of my previous watches haha. But only recently out of college so maybe someday I can actually shop for that kind of watch
Really enjoyed this podcast. My father specializes in restoration of antique clocks and watches, which has definitely influenced my fascination for watches. Not to tell you what to do, but consider dropping Watchfinder &Co a line on what setup they use to film their watches in their videos. They have the most stunning camera shots of watches I have seen on the internet to really show off the intricate detail that you get in these high end pieces. Not sure if the method they use is attainable in a podcast though, a lot of setup might be required.
Found this from a jre episode. I am looking for a watch right now for my job. And I got to thinking about Matt talking about his watch podcast and thought I would check it out. It's pretty cool... I'm not a watch freak. But it's interesting. I like the looks and mechanical-ness of watches. Also I'm blown away by the crazy movements and designs..
Off to a great start. I remember I think back in 2015ish I ran into Matt at Fontana during a car show, and made a comment about your Kermit.. and you looked at me like wtf you're talking about. I could tell you weren't a watch guy then. Glad to see you going down the rabbit hole.
Awesome. I'm not sure if the watch cam is out of focus or if it just isn't lit as well as it should be, but it looks a bit blurry. Especially if we get to check out some of the small parts inside watches, it would be awesome for this view to be super crisp and defined. Stoked so far. My wife is going to hate this.
As a car and watch enthusiast I'm glad I found this. I have noticed Matt's Rolex's in the one take videos and I assumed he was a fellow watch enthusiast. If I ever met him in person, I would ask him about his watches before I would even start talking cars.
I was planning on asking for your opinions on sub brands of well regarded brands. My aunt and uncle gave me a Lorus for a high school graduation present 13 years ago, and upon looking for a new watch to get back in the habit for daily use(that old one is a little blingy for daily use). Looked up Lorus, and turns out they're a sub brand of Seiko. Then the first watch that gets pulled out on this episode is a Lorus.
This first episode was awesome. So many awesome watches. Also I'm glad I'm not the only one with a Mickey mouse watch. Going to binge watch the rest of the episodes.
very interesting stuff guys! As others have suggested, lighting/focus on that watch cam is the only gripe, but otherwise i'm looking forward to this podcast
Wow, Ralph Laurlen with a JLC movement!!! What has the world come to :) . .....I mean it looks good, has a super great movement, and supposedly built well....but I keep on wondering if you get at T shirt with it as well :)
Great show! I have another favorite channel where the host diassembles, cleans, and reassembles movements. All of the different types of greases that are applied to different parts depending on their function. Absolutely mesmerizing. But that goes hand in hand with my love of working on cars.
Awesome stuff guys. Really enjoyed it! Maybe zoom out the microscope just the slightest bit to show the entire dial and case in the shot? Other than that, this was really entertaining
Returning to the first one after watching all you podcasts. Great work! Matt presented his own RL worldtimer in the video. That is quite a large watch with about 45mm diameter. Do you know the lug-to-lug measurement of the RL worldtimer? I'm interested in it but it might bee too long for me:(
Just started watching here at #1. Very enjoyable. Best watch I have ever owned is an Ironman. Looking forward to future episodes as I start to window shop for my first mechanical watch (sub $100).
Good start guys. If you have time maybe make an episode about big watch making countries? Make a china episode a russia episode a japan episode etc. Just an idea.
But...... you said in a piece with C&C that you don't want to wear someone else's story, you buy new watches and create your own story. So here in this episode, you say you have made purchases from C&C..... Which is it? Do you ONLY buy new or do you buy used as well? Just curious.
Holy shit! Matt's dad was the president and COO of Ralph Lauren for 20 years! I had no idea matt's family was so rich(though I knew he was jewish, so I guess those go hand in hand).
Matt you are dope as fuck I hope to build a TH-cam brand and collaborate one day!! I love that you are getting into watches I have been interested in watches for a bit I hope this helps me learn and waist money on awesome stuff!! One love brother!!
Use a dslr w a macro lense and hdmi out w an elgato capture card instead of that shitty webcam you’re using for the close ups right now (just a suggestion)
FYI Let's keep it real here guys when talking vintage watches (especially Rolex) refinished dials are worthless & render the watch the same. PS please please please stop butchering Jaeger-LeCoultre name (go online there are plenty of sound bites how to properly pronounce it)
Let’s be real guys, if asian manufacturers didn’t exist Weiss brand wouldn’t have existed either. All parts coming from China, movement from Japan, assembled in a Studio and claiming it’s American Made?!?? Let me put in another way, if it’s American as claimed why does it have to be a 100% cloning of IWC where in China are expert in doing so, with the only difference in Arabic Numbers fonts on the dial. Have it compared with an 80$ watch called Parnis that you can find on Alibaba and tell me if this whole false claim deserves this huge difference of price!
WOW !!!!!! the fucking references here are insane......and to think i was gonna buy a Weiss today . I literally came on youtube to this channel because I saw your Joe Rogan podcast. Then I find out about Weiss and stumble upon this show. Then we go off the rails with "Black Mickey" Criminal Mickey, and "My dad crackin backs" WOW !!!!! talk about insensitive.....yeesh!!!! I'm definitely unsubscribing and NEVER buying a weiss. PEACE !!!!
Cameron where can I get a box like that. I actually use something similar for security reasons. What was its original purpose? I like the fact that the watches are sandwiched sideways.
A Swiss company makes them, not sure where to buy them. At Audemars and Vacheron we had boxes like these to move watches inconspicuously from one location to another.
You should do an episode that's basically watches for beginners. So tell people what things are and how things work. I'm sure there's lots of people like me that like watches and are interested in them but don't know much about the craft
I did spend quite a bit of time on Crown&Caliber. Thanks to them for stepping up and sponsoring.
Cars and watches living the life Matt!!
Thanks Matt. Cars weren't an expensive enough hobby, thanks to you i"ve convinced myself that i need a $3000 Breitling.
Ya but they’re a better investment in most cases lol but I’m probably just justifying myself
the ad at 2:00 says TST podcast lol.
Haha yeah old habits die hard
Love the concept of a watch show which logically builds knowledge for folks who are interested and want o gain true knowledge. Bravo
Came via Joe Rogan's channel. You got new subscriber! that guy knows his stuff! next time i am getting a watch, i will stop by Weiss hopefully by then Weiss will have a metal band
I think adding some brighter lighting for the watch camera would go a long way in improving the image quality.
Travis Maulden the watch cam is in a steady state of improvement over the first 5 eps please stick with us!
Wow who would've know Mr. Farah senior was a boss. Legendary collection!
Tourbillon as Tommy Lee's drum set is my new favorite analogy. Thanks, guys!
First episode and already the best watch podcast out there
Can already tell I'm going to love this podcast. Great work.
Wow who would've know Mr. Farrah senior was a boss. Legendary collection!
Great first show and can't wait for more. Have gotten a few watches From C&C and sold a few and have to say they are one of the best. Keep up the good work.
I love the podcast! I don't know much about watches, but I'm looking forward to this taking me deep down the rabbithole.
Really enjoyable to watch. Excited to see where this goes.
I wish crown and caliber wasn't so expensive. I looked into them and they offered a discount right away that was the budget for each of my previous watches haha. But only recently out of college so maybe someday I can actually shop for that kind of watch

I'm not a watch freak. But it's interesting. I like the looks and mechanical-ness of watches. Also I'm blown away by the crazy movements and designs..
Also I'm blown away by the price of some watches. An expensive watch to me is over a hundred bucks...
Great podcast guys, glad to see one dedicated to watches. Looking forward to catching up with the series.
I love this new podcast.
My first watch was a Larus Mickey!! Stretchy Stainless bracelet FTW!!
Off to a great start. I remember I think back in 2015ish I ran into Matt at Fontana during a car show, and made a comment about your Kermit.. and you looked at me like wtf you're talking about. I could tell you weren't a watch guy then. Glad to see you going down the rabbit hole.

Jonathan Edwards episode 2 the camera gets better!
If you love cars, how can you not love watches? This was a great podcast Matt! Id like to hear more about watch "polishing." How does one even??
We have a "maintenance and care" episode coming up!
As a car and watch enthusiast I'm glad I found this. I have noticed Matt's Rolex's in the one take videos and I assumed he was a fellow watch enthusiast. If I ever met him in person, I would ask him about his watches before I would even start talking cars.
Great show. My friend has a Weiss Executive watch. Out of his extensive collection, it is one of my favorites.
Great podcast. Looking forward to more. Any teasers on future topics?
The Speedy is the best of the lot!
I like this. will continue to watch.. and listen
love your watch collection Matt

Great first episode!
Much love from PKA
I don't know if you have fixed it in later podcasts but mount the main camera on the floor so it doesn't shake.
This first episode was awesome. So many awesome watches. Also I'm glad I'm not the only one with a Mickey mouse watch. Going to binge watch the rest of the episodes.
what years were those Komandirskies made?
Some sweet timepieces
very interesting stuff guys! As others have suggested, lighting/focus on that watch cam is the only gripe, but otherwise i'm looking forward to this podcast
never mind the focus got better lol
Where did you get the brown leather watch pouches?
Whats the name of that Komandirskie watch? The beige one
That spot on Joe Rogan was right on! I am a new sub!
WOW. My favourite car guy and now my favourite watch guy :O
I like Matt's Russian watch a lot. I need to start looking into some of those.
read this forums.watchuseek.com/f54/vostok-amphibia-analysis-design-methodology-491757.html and go on meranom.com to get one.
They are the coolest watches. The history on the case is fascinating.
You guys are a charming pair
Wow, Ralph Laurlen with a JLC movement!!! What has the world come to :) . .....I mean it looks good, has a super great movement, and supposedly built well....but I keep on wondering if you get at T shirt with it as well :)
You can tell he was just getting his feet wet when he referred to the bezel as the dial and the dial as the face lol
Great show! I have another favorite channel where the host diassembles, cleans, and reassembles movements. All of the different types of greases that are applied to different parts depending on their function. Absolutely mesmerizing. But that goes hand in hand with my love of working on cars.
We're going to have Cameron take some things apart really soon!
Surprised a speedy is featured right away. I remember Matt saying he wasn’t an omega guy.
Awesome stuff guys. Really enjoyed it! Maybe zoom out the microscope just the slightest bit to show the entire dial and case in the shot? Other than that, this was really entertaining
Yeah we figured that out for the next eps thanks for watching!
Returning to the first one after watching all you podcasts. Great work!
Matt presented his own RL worldtimer in the video. That is quite a large watch with about 45mm diameter. Do you know the lug-to-lug measurement of the RL worldtimer? I'm interested in it but it might bee too long for me:(
Too bad they didn't send you a Tudor, I'd like to hear your opinion on them.
I would like to buy bee line coffee but the roaster I buy from is a small local company and roasts the coffee the morning I buy it.
Love this so far but that watch camera is in dire need of an upgrade.
Great video ❤️❤️
Cost me $130 today on The Russian Death to Spies and a Nato Strap FIRST FREAKIN VIEW lol. Great so far guys!!!!
Just started watching here at #1. Very enjoyable. Best watch I have ever owned is an Ironman. Looking forward to future episodes as I start to window shop for my first mechanical watch (sub $100).
Lorus is made by seiko.
This is great
I'm a chiropractor too!
it's pretty cool to have a watch with your last name on it, i would love one with mine, but what are the chances of a watch with the name Heuer on it?
Tag Heuer?
I want a watch that is nothing but a moon phase indicator
That's not a bad idea for a special edition Speedmaster
Good start guys. If you have time maybe make an episode about big watch making countries? Make a china episode a russia episode a japan episode etc. Just an idea.
good idea! add it to the list for down the road.
But...... you said in a piece with C&C that you don't want to wear someone else's story, you buy new watches and create your own story. So here in this episode, you say you have made purchases from C&C..... Which is it? Do you ONLY buy new or do you buy used as well? Just curious.
Watch camera should be a bit more away from the watch, we should see about qt inch arround it , would be much better.
Yeah, we make that adjustment going forward thanks!
WatchAndListenPodcast I saw all 4, exatctly what i meant, keep up the good work.
that's a lovely podcast matt, but - watch - close - up - camera - needs to be super quality, that's just a thing you have to do with watches
LOL! "The Hodinkee crowd is now satisfied." Just need to mention that one of these watches is too big and then they'll be completely satiated.
This podcast is going to ruin any financial security I might have had.
Gotta scream "focus you fuck" to get the camera to focus
Use a dslr w a macro lense and hdmi out w an elgato capture card instead of that shitty webcam you’re using for the close ups right now (just a suggestion)
But Matt, have you got any Tiffany men's wristwatches?! (Like, oh, I don't know... from your dad! LOL)
No, they aren't really my style, but Tiffany is the only NYC retailer for Patek so I'm trying to abuse that discount if possible!
Vacheron CONSTANTINE? PADDOCK!?
Jaeger LeCULTOR???
Kill me now..
At least Mercier came out right lol
FYI Let's keep it real here guys when talking vintage watches (especially Rolex) refinished dials are worthless & render the watch the same.
PS please please please stop butchering Jaeger-LeCoultre name (go online there are plenty of sound bites how to properly pronounce it)
The real time camera test is a beautiful disaster.
"it wasn't a big house, like 1500 sq ft"
😅 Yea that's so small
Get a better camera homie

I'm definitely unsubscribing and NEVER buying a weiss. PEACE !!!!
There’s at least one guy in this vid that isn’t really required...
And he talks Way too fucking much
Most podcast avoid affiliations with sellers it can give podcast more independence. It's good to see a new watch podcast.
