On the subject of speed...I'm a 3d artist who uses Cinema 4d. I watch them put out release after release every year and add all of these fancy new toys (most of which I'll never use) but I would trade all of those gimmicks for the software to be sped up significantly. And they did do that last year. They made the software at least 50% faster. But it needs to be 10 times faster. I wish software developers would feel less pressure to introduce all of these new fluffy tools and just focus on making the software more stable and faster. FL Studio could stand for some stability fixes. I'm glad it has a good backup system because its very much needed with all of the crashes I get during a work session.
If you’re having stuttering issues on Mac and it’s an M series chip, please go to the preferences in FL and disable hardware acceleration if the option is available. This is most likely a Mac problem and not an FL problem. I have other apps on my Mac that cause stuttering and this fixes it. This usually has to do with open GL.
I'm afraid your stuttering problem just isn't present with most people it's a little much to call the new update "disappointing" just because you have a mac issue 😭
I had a similar thought I use windows and have no issues with stutter I have issues with knowledge. And no one is teaching how to use it as a recording artist only a producer stand point
Been using FL studio for over 20 years. Nothing disappointing about it. Always getting better. Go ahead and go to band lab. I'm sure we'll see you coming back to FL for the next (free) update.
I've been using FL pirated since v1.2.7 , bought it at version 3.1 and had free updates ever since. In comparison, the other DAW software I use (Reaper, Live, Cubase and Reason) and have to keep up-to-date cost an arm and a leg and even their updates are 'meh' at some times. So, I have no problem at all coping with a lousy FL update every now and then... it has been the best value for money bar none.

I’m glad I wasn’t the only one having that problem. I noticed it in the last update before 24. I could work for 45 minutes to an hour, and I would have to restart. You’re right; it is unusable right now.

Same, no problems here. Using Mac Studio 2022, Sonoma 14.4.1 and sweet as. But did notice the GUI (radio) buttons was a little bit more fiddly. But could be me and different mouse.

It freezes when opening a file sometimes, then I have to force quit and reopen the same file Ive got an M2 Max 16 inch with 64gb ram and 2tb storage It cant be my machine No freezing errors when clicking stuff. its smooth when it works Still frustrating

It shows a high level of transparency which I really appreciate, especially seeing how easily influencers and content creators can be bought to sell a bogus product. I'm Team FL until the wheels fall off, so we should be able to give our honest opinion because we want it to be the best it can be.
Me personally I just really want a collaboration mode/multiplayer mode. With so many producers collaborating online all across the world I think figuring out a way to collaborate and share ideas easier is really what we need and I think would change/impact the whole of music in a very powerful and positive way.

I've been following you for like 10 years and this is the first time I disagree with you. The 24 is going to be easier to track, especially new producers. I think it is good to keep in mind that we have the luck of having new producers almost everyday and they need an easy way to start. It sounds weird coming from an experienced producer like you saying ''stuff that an average producer would not really get into''. I mean, we all focus on different things, especially when learning. I don't see how FL having ''extra stuff'' which you say is for electronic music producer is a bad thing, as if an electronic producer couldn't also do jazz and rock using the same tools because they are there. FL 24 was not what I expected but it is fine as an update but I think you are so much better as a content creator that you could've focus on the new stuff that we can actually use because it is there regardless.
CLAP support is multi-threaded, VST3 is single-threaded meaning each plugin only uses 1 core. FabFilter has setup CLAP support to run on multiple cores, CLAP is a huge breakthrough.
You have something funky on your computer, I made a test on an 2012 mac mini under catalina and this stuff recovered a 2nd life on how things work perfectly in it ...
Its not supposed to be a major update. They specified that, from now on they're just going to name the version after the year it comes out. "That makes it easier for you to know if you're updated."

I’m actually super happy with FL24. But I totally understand where you’re coming from as well. I actually think this update was more about pushing out FL Cloud the way it is now so they can build on it going forward. I also don’t seem to have any CPU issues but I am rocking the top of the line i9 so if it is struggling on lower end machines, I can see that being a huge pain point.
Plenty of producers have used earlier verisons of FL and had plenty of success regardless if there's a newer version or not, find what version works for you and use it💯
I got a new MacBook M3 Pro with the latest macOS and can't record in FL on it anymore because of the high buffer length it needs. Even this new machine can't handle it. Thinking about switching to the new Logic Pro.
here's one another thing FL can do is to make it easy to automate things, lock patterns into place, to assign tracks directly to the mixer and putting any pattern in those tracks directly just overwrite the pattern's assigned master channel directly to the track assigned master channel. Also, make it easier to cut tracks, chop it up easily without having to change the brush or whatever that is
Studio owner here I run a recording studio (24/7) never had a issue with FL in all my 10 years as a owner. After this 2024 update I’ve been getting crashes where I have to restart the computer for it to go back to normal or Sometimes a certain plugin won’t work so I have to restart the computer for it to work again. I don’t understand what’s happening I don’t run on cracks I’m using a M1 Mac I have friends having the same issues as well. FL doing these useless updates for no reason and nothing is getting done
CUBASE has been my answer! non stop, continuous work flow... I am a FL Studio owner, and I love it! but I have to go with CUBASE.. even trying to use it as VSTi/rewire, but in my experience, even REASON has been better for that. CUBASE with VST's for the WIN!
Posts on the IL forum regularly come with the statement. "It's 2024". The release name assures the world that IL do know what year it is. Skipping major version integers is something they received no push back on, when they skipped 13. For me, FL Studio has had abundant utility for years, sufficient even. Like you, there's always been some pining for Ableton's audio warping, in the back of my mind. Such a fun and effortless mode of working with samples.
Cakewalk by BandLab GOAT for those who take the time to learn it... only downside is its windows only. But learning to use different DAWS is actully GOAT GOAT.
I honestly still say Fl is still the best because it’s pay once and lifetime upgrades. As for bringing ableton people. I’m nervous about that because I don’t want them to think about subscription stuff. Probably the only thing I’d say from ableton would be the live looping capabilities you see and that’s it .

Getting loads of crackling and juddering on playback on 24 even though cpu at 16%. I'm not even using any samples and checked all audio settings but still happening. Really annoying.
Whenever i take something to Edison/Regions/Detect Pitch Regions, it crashes. I did notice that while downloading FL Studio 2k24, it says about having the updated OS system for a mac, maybe thats why we are having problems cause we are not updated to the most recent OS.
i’ve been having issues on mine too, i just got a new macbook pro, it’s taking over 15 minutes to fetch my files to open a project it or click anything, it doesn’t obey the file paths i set either it keeps crashing and searching the entire laptop instead just searching my external drive. i’m on macOS sanoma, it’s a brand new laptop so i don’t have the previous versions of fl on there, idk what to do my fl is unusable rn.
When you said native instruments and everyone else....hit me hard. Hell yeah I bought my first maschine and I was disappointed I couldn't use in FL for chopping up samples using slicex and hit the pads. 😢😢😢 Native instruments need to come together and make this possible😂😮my first maschine and I should done my research on it better even tho I had already. Would love using my maschine mikro MK3 without the need to use two daws. Or going back and forth arranging a project into the software maschine 2 and out of FL Studio. It's kinda time consuming for me
A lot of these "fl studio 24 is bad" are just people outing themselves for needing to be overly stimulated and how 'brain rot' they are. Not every update has to be the next big thing. Sure some things like the mastering features might need tweaking but that's how updates work. Imagine

Bandlab is a sleeper! I would also like a few more adjustments for audio recording in FL studio (I play guitar and have a drum maschine now) it crashes a lot on my mac mini m1 (16gb ram)
They did not even mention this is a game changing update or anything they just changed the numbering from now on it will be year based and gave updates as usual and there is half more year left for them to have more updates. I think the jump from 21 to 24 caused all this Disappointment i feel because nothing changed otherwise
It's called fl 24 to correlate to the year. So if you're using fl 24 and it's 2026 then you know you can upgrade to fl 26. They said in a video that this was basically 21.3
The only real problem I have so far on 2024 is NI Maschine does not work in it. FL and NI don't have a clue why not at this point. I think they rushed to release because all the other daw released updates this week or last week. I use PC.
The reason I can't quit 2 software I love the most for music and art, Blender and FL Studio are the same in graphic ❤, why every things for me is much easier and faster
I downloaded it can’t use cloud and it’s buggy. To be honest I’ve shifted away from Fl, you can’t even do mono output unless I’m tripping and missing something.
The one and only probe I have with fl studio 24 all plug in version is that edsidon don't receive any signal to record from my audio device. Fl 21 do with same settings. Any one help pls???????

I've been off FL since 2020 when I got MPC. Before that I used FL for 15 plus years. In comparison FL is like a cartoon. MPC is the movie they made of that cartoon with human characters. IMO
@@busyworksbeats I think it's the having a dedicated piece of hardware while creating that made creating feel more engaging. Then I learned the term "No Quantize" amongst MPC users. Made me stop using Quantize all together. You're natural rhythm as long as it's not causing gap pauses or dramatic delays to the next notes through the loop sounded better to me. I feel that natural rhythm causes you to create a sound nobody has. Just some things I noticed when switching. Took some time to catch the work flow but I definitely make better pockets of loops than when I was on FL.
@@thebl8nlyblatantnetwork You definitely can but you might as well use MPC software. It just loads the MPC as an instrument. MPC transpose functions are also disabled. No play start stop record.
I think the leak of the chord generator kind of diluted the excitement of FL 24. If that leak never happened, content creators would be calling FL the top DAW hands down... I mean its already is but HEY. 🤷♂

When you open Parametric EQ 2 the heat map is no longer turned on by default. You have to turn it on for every instance.😭

I can agree with you. FL Studio 24 will not let me use the piano roll because I'm in the trial version. That is why I am staying on FL Studio 21.

i’ve been having issues on mine too, i just got a new macbook pro, it’s taking over 15 minutes to fetch my files to open a project it or click anything, it doesn’t obey the file paths i set either it keeps crashing and searching the entire laptop instead just searching my external drive. i’m on macOS sanoma, it’s a brand new laptop so i don’t have the previous versions of fl on there, idk what to do my fl is unusable rn.
Totally agree. Can’t enjoy the new updates due to increase crashes and stalling when saving projects
When you said native instruments and everyone else....hit me hard. Hell yeah I bought my first maschine and I was disappointed I couldn't use in FL for chopping up samples using slicex and hit the pads. 😢😢😢 Native instruments need to come together and make this possible😂😮my first maschine and I should done my research on it better even tho I had already. Would love using my maschine mikro MK3 without the need to use two daws. Or going back and forth arranging a project into the software maschine 2 and out of FL Studio. It's kinda time consuming for me
Fl studio has built its legend on efficiency and stability version 24 is completely bugged there is neither efficiency nor stability on Windows

A lot of these "fl studio 24 is bad" are just people outing themselves for needing to be overly stimulated and how 'brain rot' they are. Not every update has to be the next big thing. Sure some things like the mastering features might need tweaking but that's how updates work. Imagine
No issues on FL 24 on windows. My drum packs and some vsts didn’t migrate to 24. I had to do it manually.
Yeah it’s like that on my windows station as well I had to change my folder destination as well due to Dropbox/onecloud error and instability and it’s wierd now
Bandlab is a sleeper! I would also like a few more adjustments for audio recording in FL studio (I play guitar and have a drum maschine now) it crashes a lot on my mac mini m1 (16gb ram)
They did not even mention this is a game changing update or anything they just changed the numbering from now on it will be year based and gave updates as usual and there is half more year left for them to have more updates. I think the jump from 21 to 24 caused all this Disappointment i feel because nothing changed otherwise

It's called fl 24 to correlate to the year. So if you're using fl 24 and it's 2026 then you know you can upgrade to fl 26. They said in a video that this was basically 21.3
The only real problem I have so far on 2024 is NI Maschine does not work in it. FL and NI don't have a clue why not at this point. I think they rushed to release because all the other daw released updates this week or last week. I use PC.

The reason I can't quit 2 software I love the most for music and art, Blender and FL Studio are the same in graphic ❤, why every things for me is much easier and faster

I downloaded it can’t use cloud and it’s buggy. To be honest I’ve shifted away from Fl, you can’t even do mono output unless I’m tripping and missing something.
The one and only probe I have with fl studio 24 all plug in version is that edsidon don't receive any signal to record from my audio device. Fl 21 do with same settings. Any one help pls???????
I think the fl cloud is pretty cpu heavy, everytime when opening fl studio fl cloud is opening and loading as well

Fl20 and 21 still hold their weight wonderfully, no reason to switch up imo
You testing FL24 on M chips? if so which one? or what are your specs (just curious, not saying your machine isnt strong)

I've been off FL since 2020 when I got MPC.
Before that I used FL for 15 plus years.
In comparison FL is like a cartoon.
MPC is the movie they made of that cartoon with human characters. IMO

@@busyworksbeats I think it's the having a dedicated piece of hardware while creating that made creating feel more engaging. Then I learned the term "No Quantize" amongst MPC users. Made me stop using Quantize all together. You're natural rhythm as long as it's not causing gap pauses or dramatic delays to the next notes through the loop sounded better to me. I feel that natural rhythm causes you to create a sound nobody has. Just some things I noticed when switching. Took some time to catch the work flow but I definitely make better pockets of loops than when I was on FL.

@@thebl8nlyblatantnetwork You definitely can but you might as well use MPC software. It just loads the MPC as an instrument. MPC transpose functions are also disabled. No play start stop record.

I think the leak of the chord generator kind of diluted the excitement of FL 24. If that leak never happened, content creators would be calling FL the top DAW hands down... I mean its already is but HEY. 🤷♂
