    Do you think an ABP on a 4090 will clear the VRM heat sink trim above the top slot on the Classified or the Dark I can’t find any information

    • @GregorysBrain
      @GregorysBrain  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I highly doubt it would, but that's why the secondary x16 slot can now be run in full PCIe 5.0 x16.

    so i got the z690 dark kingpin because i got a great deal.....then i bought a 13900k. Have the 13900k on the dark kingpin and its cool. works great but i'm thinking of gettting the z790 classified and pick up a 12900k to mess around with on the z690 dk. Your classified video almost got me ready to pull the trigger!!

    Can you do ram tuning and overclocking on this board

    In your personal experience, If you install all 3x m.2 drives, does the GPU drop to 8x PCIe 4.0 from 16x ?

    • @GregorysBrain
      @GregorysBrain  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nope. The first M.2 NVMe will draw 4x lanes from the CPU directly, and the second two will draw their lanes from PCH. So, you'll always get full throughput with your PCIe x16 lanes given that you're running a single card. If you run two then it'll have to reallocate the lanes to bi x16 or x8/x8.

      @@GregorysBrain thanks for the quick reply 👍. Great to know before I perform my install today. Did you flash to 1.10 with your 13900KS or did you hold off?

    Please show more of that classified board. There are nearly no video reviews out there atm. Do you know when these will be available in europe?

    • @GregorysBrain
      @GregorysBrain  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'll be throwing it on the bench this week to do some initial testing. Plenty of Classified content coming soon. Unfortunately, I'm not sure of the availability in Europe.

    What case are you thinking you'll utilize for your Classified?

    • @GregorysBrain
      @GregorysBrain  ปีที่แล้ว

      BeQuiet is sending me their 900 Dark Base Rev.2 Orange. Should work out nicely. Both the 13900K and RTX A4500 will be cooled by EK Water Blocks and a 360mm and 420mm radiators.

    Absolutely beautiful mobo, but that price of $799 is a tough 1. Did you end up building anything yet?

    • @GregorysBrain
      @GregorysBrain  ปีที่แล้ว

      This board will be used for XOC. My Classified will be going into a case along with a 13900K, 64GB (4x16GB) G.Skill Trident Z5s 7000CL31 (already dialed in), Nvidia RTX A5000 with EK Pro Waterblock, 1x Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus 2TB, 2x Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus 4TB, and an EVGA Supernova 1600T2. The build is currently on a test bench. Just waiting on a new case and a few more water cooling components.

    Ps2 port is a great feature. I have not bought boards before because they didn't have Ps2 ports for keyboard.

      Most definitely will once it's on the bench. 😎 I'll use my 9mm F1.7 Leica, which can focus at a 3" focal distance. There is plenty of content coming with both the Z790 Classified and Dark K|NGP|N.

    • @GregorysBrain
      @GregorysBrain  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh, and the Classified build is going to be a killer workstation. I'm using the Z790 Classified, i9 13900K, 2x16GB G.Skill Trident Z5s 6600CL34, Nvidia RTX A4500, and BeQuiet Dark Power Pro 1500w Titanium PSU. Unfortunately, the Dark Base 700 that BeQuiet sent me is too small for the board and radiators, so they're sending me their full tower 900 Dark Base Rev.2, which should be here in a couple of weeks.

    The Dark Z790 doesn't support PCI Gen 5 NVME.... NO THANKS!!
    Gimme Asus Z790 Apex instead. Much better overclocking results (cpu/memory) and better onboard features on the ASUS Apex 💪💪

      If you're an XOCer, which you're clearly not, then you simply don't need NVMe as we use SATA SSDs. Best of luck to you. We've broken our fair share of records, but don't dismiss a purpose built product based on I/O.
