      1. Skinny jeans
      2.) Yezzy 500 blush
      3.) Fear of God Mocs
      4.) longline t-shirt.

I used to wear polo shirts a lot. Even for short errands. Don’t wear them as much anymore and have learned to appreciate a nice-fitting dark v-neck t-shirt (no graphics or logos).

Totally get the ALD thing, I have sold clothes multiple times when my mates who aren't so into fashion start to adopt items as they become more trendy. I have fallen out of love with sneakers after being a big collector in the past I just wear boots now and no longer like wearing logos. I think both of those are me getting older and wanting a more understated and timeless style!

Common Projects look nice, but personally I can't really justify spending that much on plain white sneakers. I'm happy with my Reebok club C 85s, any of my other sneaker purchases are going to be statement pieces.

Ill still always support Cdg play. Why? I’ve had their t shirts for 5 years and they still hold up. The crew neck never gets loose or loses it’s shape and the seams last through wash and wash and wash. Sure they get some flavk for being a meme but it’s one of the best quality t shirt I’ve ever owned and they just fit and flow perfect on my body.

Can totally relate to the ALD story 😅, happens often for me.
One item I’m currently getting the same feeling over is white t-shirts. I feel like for a while super minimalist solid color (especially plain white) t-shirts have been very popular and, on me, I’m just starting to find them too simple. I’m starting to like more dressed-up summer style like linen shirts and overshirts. Curious if it’s just me or if we’ll see a general trend of summer style getting a bit less casual.

    • @HarryHas

Being nearly 50 with over half that time working in the menswear business, starting straight in high end menswear back in 1990 I loved CDG, Giorgio Armani, Nino Cerruti, Ermenogildo Zegna when these were really high end and still made in Italy with the exception of Zegna which was made in Switzerland if memory serves me well. My issue is the quality is just not there anymore, yes I still wear some things when I can afford to as I had to retire on health grounds 10 years ago so buying high end clothing just doesn’t happen yet I’ve found that buying Armani and Boss Jeans still last for the most part and are really the only ones that fit me properly, Boss Polos, CDG Shirt tess, things like that. I don’t think I’ve paid full price for more than 5 items from these ranges in the last 20 years and when I have it’s because there was a certain colour Boss polo I wanted for my holiday, a pair of Adidas GTR Manchester being born and bread and remembering the originals from the 70s as a kid, missed out on the other two Manchester ones though and the Manchester neighbourhoods like the Ardwick and Newton Heath, the latter I did really want as I’m from the next door neighbourhood of Miles Platting but I refuse point blank to queue up in the middle of the night for anything, especially as I’m Registered Disabled. These days though I seem to not buy much at all, unless I come across something that’s heavily discounted because I tend to wear just bog standard tees as I’m usually out with my camera gear so don’t see the point, I don’t go out hardly ever now socialising due to health but I guess once I get over certain issues I’m going through I will once again. Don’t get me wrong, I still like to take care of my appearance, I still feel good if I look good, we’ll if my clothes do anyway.

Been noticing the decline of common projects in the IG accounts I follow, somehow replaced by New Balance sneakers in terms of post appearance. However I can see common projects resurfacing in the next few years since its never really completely irrelevant.

I wore a black cdg t to the doctors recently and everyone commented on how much they loved it. Florida is a little behind when it comes to fashion, and right now it's the hottest thing since sliced bread. I'd probably still wear it occasionally, however I don't plan on buying any more CDG.

That's why you should stay with and keep the classic and ageless styles and not getting what is trendy at the moment (and you'll save a lot of money for sure). Specially when you get older, you'll have a better understanding what suits you and what's not. I recommend to read or listen to this book called The Appearance of Power: How masculinity is expressed through aesthetics by Tanner Guzy. Highly recommended.

About two years ago, when I got a very good promotion at work, I stopped wearing my printed t-shirts and chose plain polos instead. For me it's anything slim-fit. Once I wore a pair of baggy jeans and roomy t-shirts, that was it. I feel constricted any time I have to wear anything that "sticks" to my body (I had to wear a very tight turtleneck for a short film recently and it was so distracting). I love wearing baggy/oversized stuff now and the way I dress is a lot more comfort-oriented. I figured, since it's "my style, my rules", I might as well be comfortable as much as possible... I'm neurodiverse as well and I have way less sensory overload now.

Graphic tees for me. I just don't care to wear them. I found plain t shirts that most people buy in bulk for their company and the quality and fit is perfect for me.
Hats unfortunately. For myself, hats look better on myself with longer hair. I imagine I fit in the smaller head category and like to wear my hair shorter these days... So no hats for me as of late.
I can't think of any companies that I dont wear as I never really wore brands or were faithful to a brand. I'm faithful to new balance shoes so if I fall out of love them, I'll tell ya Harry 😄

The one thing I can say I’ve fallen out of love with is Air Jordan 1s. I used to save all my money as a kid trying to get every color way. Until one day I got sick of them and sold them all. Yeah sockless look too back in 2 yrs ago I love to carry sockless look but now i think socks can uplift my overall look and pop color socks are sick 🤩🤩🤩
I think you should make a video on how to style pop color socks 😁

ALD is basically the new Supreme at this point. Maybe there isn't anything wrong about the brand's ethos, but the spirit is just kinda ruined. So many ALD 'fans' just half ass their effort to actually wear and appreciate the clothes. Thus, make the community look bad towards enthusiasts and it just makes it harder for us to support the brand.

    • @HarryHas

I bought a pair of Givenchy urban knots sneakers 6-7 years ago. Same price as Common Projects . I deserve a label at those prices. I’m being honest. 🤣🤣I don’t want to spend that amount of money on a pair of shoes that look like you could have purchased them from Uniqlo.
I’ve been over Comme Des Garçons for around 5 years especially after watching the documentary on the designer. She’s a bit dark and permanently depressed.

I stopped wearing clothing with big brand logos, I still have a few pieces with them but I've been more conscious about what I buy. Like I'd rather invest in higher quality pieces without their brand name plastered all over my body than pay for a companies free advertisement.

Why are people so afraid to admit that they're influenced by the internet and what the forums and fashion blogs are saying? this is why you don't wear half the clothes you want to wear anymore, it's not because you've fell out of love with them, it's because you're told that they are not cool anymore.

    • @HarryHas
      @HarryHas  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I have said multiple times in videos that hype changes your outlook on things. I also have to disagree, most of the items on this list, if not all of them, are still considered ‘cool.’ It depends who you ask. If you never moved on from things, fashion would become very dull.

It's not even the fact that ALD blew up, but rather that it has become part of the hype culture and people just hop on it for clout... If it was a popular brand it wouldn't be an issue imo

  • @nottsforest69

I think my skinny is really slim nowadays. There is always that sweet spot between too baggy and too slim depending on the style. If you can wear converse with your pants without looking like a clown, I think you have the right fit. 🤪
