  • I'm back from a hiking trip and it made me think about my experience with chest binding (weirdly enough :D). So I decided to talk about it.

Oh you got Jamie's book!!!! That's so nice. I was watching his channel when I saw you in the suggestions. How cute lol. My tip is DONT try to squish it on when you are damp. Its just so bad. There's trans tape. A company that has special oil to get the tape off and different sizes and colours.
Binders are expensive on every website. Im very bad, I dont take the binder off until it gets washed. 🙄😒

Hey man! welcome :) wow how cool that my video was recommended. I saw your other comments too. Always nice to come across another (older) transman, everyone with their own story 😊. I saw that you are from Australia. I've never been there, but it's on my list of countries I'd like to visit sometime. Take care man!

Thanks Daan. You too @@Daan_SpieardBtw, the suggestion was the story about transitioning when you're older, that's what caught my eye.

And I thought that it's just an excuse I tell myself, because I have a similar issue with binding! I hold myself back from doing all sorts of sports, festivals and camping stress me out, even if I would like it. Getting top surgery on the 20 of March, so I'm super stocked! What a coincidence that I'm reading Jamies book right now as well, haha.
    Greetings from Switzerland!

The zip ones might be better for people just starting out. They aren't too tight on the chest

What a truly awesome video. ❤ More people should see your videos and get a real understanding of the struggles and what someone endures when born the wrong gender. It might help to open people's minds and hearts more leading to better emotional understanding/intelligence and at a time when perhaps it's needed most. ❤

If you want to, there are places to donate your binders for others who can't afford them. I don't have any exact places to recommend, but a quick look on the internet would show places around you or places to send them to 👍 They will clean them so they're ready for a new owner 😊
The pinching and non-breathable part of binding was hard to deal with. I used to tuck toilet paper under my breasts because I was too big to bind (sweating, rashes, infections). I used 3 sports bras on top of each other, I was still too big. Binding while being a bit on the hefty side has a bunch of other weird issues like having them bunch in weird places or roll up/squeeze in the wrong areas.
An issue I had with binding is that I have asthma, and it seemed like trying to bind set off my asthma a LOT more than normal.
I got a reduction, but the doctor didn't get what I was going for and left me fairly large. So a few years later I went in for complete top surgery (same doctor) and they acted offended that I didn't like their work or something. I would have liked a better surgeon, but it was close to home (1 hour drive).
The last scene at the end was so sad 🫣🤭

Hey, thanks for the tip, I will have a look. Sounds great to give them to someone who can't afford them.
What a story! Can imagine the difficulties. 3 sports bra, must have been sooo warm and uncomfortable.

I notice your beard and mustache are coming in. It looks promising. I guess you didn't bother to shave while camping, but are you keeping them?

Not sure, I think it's not fully grown in yet to keep it so, probably will shave it in a day or 2 :)
