great video man, just have a question about second node, can i connect it via ethernet cable if i have another ethernet cable from the wall on the second floor? instead of usiing the 5g wifi network to create the mesh?

      @JKChavez  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

yes, you can use a lan cable as the mesh backhaul for the second node.

ano po mas maganda s kanila dalawa.
Asus ROG Rapture GT6 Black AX10000 2-pack Triband Mesh Router
    vs
ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 Pro Tri-Band WiFi 6 Extendable Gaming Router, 10G & 2.5G Ports, ASUS RangeBoost Plus, Triple-level Game Acceleration
thank you po s answer. planning to buy kasi.

parehas okay, personal opinion ko, yung ax11000 pro, since quad core processor and ung additional 10gig port para sa NAS ko po..
only problem is need ko pa ng isang triband router para sa aimesh para better speed sa ibang parts ng bahay, pede din naman kahit hindi triband kunin kong isa since may lan cable naman sa each floor ng house para pedeng wired backhaul for ai mesh then full speed pa din on all location..
while sa gt6 2 pack na agad sya na triband, buy 1 pack then mas malaki na agad coverage kahit wireless backhaul for aimesh good speed pa din on other location of the house, if you have less than 20 devices and hindi mo naman need ng additional 10gig port sulit na si gt6

question. I have an ROG Rapture GT-AXE16000 & 2 ROG Rapture GT6s. I have a large area to cover. I was told by ASUS Tech support before I bought them that they will work together. Well I was given the AXE16000 but I bought the 2 GT6s for the extended space. I told them I planned on using the AXE16000 as my main router and the 2 ROG GT6s as 2 nodes or what ever you want to call them. They told me they will work. Today when I called tech support they told me you cannot use them this way. Both devices under their specs say AiMesh capable.
Are you familiar with these? If so do you know if they will work like I am hoping they will? If they do where do you recommend I go for quality support to get help setting them up. ASUS customer tech support is terrible. I read my serial number to the guy 10 times and I swear they were just not listening.
Also for your info. I plan to have my AXE16000 connected to my ISP modem. My ISP does not have a built in router/wifi. So I will not need to put anything on their equipment in bridge mode. So the AXE16000 will be my router and I will have the 2 GT6s spread out far away on other side of building. My AXE16000 is next to and connected to a 16 port gigabit switch. I have Ethernet ran in the walls all the way out to where both GT6s are located. So the internet will be supplied from my AXE16000 through Cat6 to my GT6s so they will not be receiving WiFi signal from AXE16000 to the GT6s but instead they will be directly connected via Ethernet.
I am hoping I can have the 2 GT6s receive wired internet and then broadcast WiFi from there to devices on that side of building.
Will this work and how do I go about doing this?
Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi, this would be a great setup, I have not tested the gt-axe16000, but asus mesh network should work. I have tried several asus router from rt series, zen, rog and tuf series, they work with one another, that is what i really like about asus AImesh, it is compatible with all ASUS aimesh router.
using lan cable as a backhaul for the mesh would be the best setup, I have the same setup, currently running blue cave as my main aimesh router, and 3 ac5u v2 as ai mesh node, all connected to an un managed 8 port switch. ( I have the rt-ax11000 but havent configure it yet)..
you are in the right direction, making that axe16000 as your main while the the 2 gt6s as ai mesh node..
let me know if you have trouble on the setup.. :)

@@JKChavez thanks for your reply. The only problem is I am not sure how to set it up. I am decent with networking equipment but not expert. These reps from Asus are terrible. I have tried so many times to ask them about what I want to do.
I guess they think that AiMesh means that in order for these to work the way I want that the 2 devices that will be considered Nodes and the AXE16000 being the Router. They seem to think that the 2 nodes need to be receiving their signal via wireless signal and then they broadcast wirelessly as a mesh.
They seem to cannot grasp the concept that other systems I have used like Eero, Orbi and so forth. They could have just one device be the router and the other 2 or 3 nodes or how ever many you have can be sent their signals via directly connected through Ethernet from router all the way to each node.
This helps for more than one reason. 1. If the nodes are to far away from the router to receive their wireless signal, so then the wire helps get the signal directly through direct connection and then the nodes can broadcast wirelessly via WiFi from there.
      2. Or if they are close enough to receive wireless signal from router, but the many walls and other interference materials in a building can weaken signals of wireless connections between routers and nodes making the signals unstable.
This is where my building layout situation is. From my experience using eero or orbi in my building. One of my potential nodes will just barely be in range of my router if I used no direct connection of Ethernet from router to each node. So that node will struggle. The second nodes location will be to far away.
This is why direct connections to each node is important. This way each node gets 100% wired internet connection so then they can broadcast WiFi from there.
The reason I want to switch to these Asus devices. Is I am tired of the other brands controlling my 2.4, 5, or 6GHz signals automatically. Plus the AXE has quad band or 4 potential network names that I can use. Well the 2 GT6s only have 3. But I am not sure how this works. If they are connected to the AXE do they all 3 share one choice. Or can each device have their main 3 network names created (AXE 4 network names) or will they all be considered one system and only have 3 network names made (and devices that are in range of the AXE have that potential 4th network name created)
Thanks for your help JKChavez. I really appreciate it.

With smart connect 3 devices will broadcast 1 ssid and the router will be the one assigning on what wireless frequency they will allocate your connected device, while if you disable smart connect all three will still be considered as one system, with 3 same names\ssid for all locations, but for the axe16000 it should broadcast an additional network, the 6ghz network (This should be the outcome, for i have tried mixing dual band and triband router of asus).

Hi Tim, with all honesty i don't have a console to test it, for the features on a computer, I'm just playing CS go and Dota 2, everything works great even with the stock configuration, even my qos prioritize work from home.

Hi. Thanks for your test. Which router to buy?
    1x XT12 Pro,
    1x Rapture GT6,
    2x XT8,
    Rog GT AX11000 Pro
Thank you in advance for your answer

    • @JKChavez
      @JKChavez  ปีที่แล้ว +2

Hi, if you have a large house to cover i would suggest the xt12 pro over the GT6. since xt12 have better processor than the GT6, but another option is you can go with the GT AX11000 Pro first, and if you think it is not enough for range, add the XT8 or GT6 which ever is cheaper as a mesh node..

This is already a router, but you still need source of internet, like a modem from your ISP..

QoS will always impact speeds when doing speeds tests, I have it disabled by default on my ASUS ROG Router as my clients will connect to the best channel possible if you go in configure your channels, default is not always optimized the best out of the box. With QoS enabled you'll only see have of your actual ISP connection speeds, ping will always be dependent on server distance and number of connections to that DNS, run a speed test with an alternate DNS, Google, Cloudflare etc... I can maintain above my ISP speeds when tweaking my router settings 😊
