I love the idea of photo copying the spread to test layouts! It allows you to experiment and make lots of errors without consequnce. I'll have to give it a try. Thanks!
I just got a techo a6 to try out for the rest of this year before I decide what to purchase next year and your video has been SO helpful! I love how functional it is, but it's so cute and colorful as well. Very happy to have come across this. Thank you!
Yes! When I first bought my Hobonichi in November last year, I wanted to start using the layout before the new year, so I photocopied a spread and I got to play around with it and trial how I wanted to use it. Have fun! 😊
I have purchased a 2024 planner I don't usually decorate or embellish my planners. I color code, and add bright circle stickers or highlight important dates. I have been practicing how you use highlighters and outline headers. I did use you tip on copying pages of a notebook of Kdramas that I watch. Practicing on a copy page, total game changer 🙌.
Aaw, thank you. I wasn’t going to do it for this video, but I just couldn’t leave it out - such a habit now when I edit my videos 😆My brain likes to be able to read the names as well, especially with my Australian accent, some words may be hard to catch the name. So glad you appreciate the labels ☺️
This was really helpful!!! Often times I don’t complete a task and go back on pages searching for the task I didn’t complete. The flags are a great idea! Thanks so much for sharing! ❤
me too ... flipping back to pages to find those missing tasks takes valuable time. this will also be a great way to flag any important events that you may want to journal about. Glad you found the video helpful and thank you for letting me know 🥰
Photocopying your setup was so clever! I'm not sure I would do photocopying, but I could definitely sketch out some ideas. It's good to get in some habits.I enjoy some of the bujo type things you do in your daily planning (like migration). I'm using a daily planner for the first time as a law student (life got wild as you can imagine). This has really helped me envision how I might use my HON A6, thank you so much for that.
Another example of your creativity Marianne. I listen and watch your videos and think why didn’t I think of that. I love how artistic and colourful your pages are. Just a question though, do you have a schedule that you follow, daily, weekly, monthly when you set your pages in all your planners up. I would love to see a video on how you stay on top of the planning preparations for each of your planners. ❤❤❤
Aaw, so glad you liked the video Donna. Pretty much my schedule is Monday I set my new weeks in weeklies (so you get to watch some of them live Sunday for my North American viewers). New months I set the weekend before it starts and dailies I like to do them as I go so I have something to look forward to and it’s my time of self-care and unplugging. But I can do a video outlining my planning schedule ☺️
I LOVED THIS!!!! So glad to stumble across your channel! Subscribed immediately lol! I have the same planner in the same cover. Great idea to photocopy pages to get the habit down, and even help the excitement to jump in a new planner! I would totally do that if I had thought of it or seen this before I ordered a steeply discounted 2023 hobonichi on our “black Friday” lol I’ll use the rest of the pages as note pages for work so it won’t go to waste as I’ll use December and the last days of November in the discounted hobo. Thanks so much for all the ideas!!!
Oh I was very tempted too to buy a 2023 version just so I can get started using my Hobonichi planner, so you're not alone there ☺. I'm so happy you're here and hope you enjoy my videos and make sure to say hello in the comments section too ☺
I love this so much and you’ve given me a lot of ideas. This year I had the same A6 Techo in a Moterm cover which I liked so much I turned into a planner/wallet setup. I wasn’t sure if I was going to do the same next year though because I didn’t think I was fully using the planner. I think I’m going to now as you’ve given me ideas and inspiration! ❤ quick question-do you find that the Pilot G2 leaves smudges on the Techo paper?
I will be doing a pen swatch test soon, but I think most ink will sit on top of the Tomoe river paper because it is fountain pen friendly (which means it won’t bleed through to the other side) and Pilot G-2 is a gel Pen, you might need to use a ball point pen so it doesn’t smudge (especially if you’re a lefty). But will test some pens on the tomoe paper and see which will be the best to use. And yay, so glad you got some ideas from the video 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Do you or does anyone know of a in-depth video on how to photocopy and set up the pages to print? I got a hobonichi a6 original for the first time and want to make a copied one to practice with until January. I have an iPad with procreate and copier/printer already but I'm not sure how to get the pages the right size in procreate. Do you scan to your iPad, resize in procreate, then print? Thanks!
Hi Rebecca. When I used my Hobonichi, I used different types of pen depending on my mood or if I had to highlight over it. Gel pen I sued Pilot G-2 in 0.5 and for fountain pens I used either Pilot Metropolitan, Explorer or A1 Majohn EF Capless fountain pen. Hope that helps.
I just couldn’t wait under month and a bit to try out the 2024 pages 😆. I have an Epson Ecotank 2750 - I’ve got an Amazon affiliate link in the description.

Yes, so glad I did that as now when writing on the actual pages, I have a better idea of layouts I like. Thank you for your comment ☺️

Photo copying helps not wait so long for the new year to start 😄
I just adore how you write every name, of everything ❤️ Thank you!

@@MarianeCresp a lot! ❤️❤️❤️
Oh yay the G2 pen 😆 a classic
I also want to try out the Pilot Vanishing Point fountain pen, but I want to save that for the Hobonichi Cousin’s daily journaling 😀

Congrats on being a law student … yes, you’re gonna have some busy study schedule, I’m sure. Have fun planning your schedule ☺️

What Pen are you using for A 6 ?
