Michigan-born and now Nashville-based, Billy Strings is a GRAMMY Award-winning singer, songwriter and musician, who arrived on the scene as “one of string music’s most dynamic young stars” (Rolling Stone). Out September 24 via Rounder Records, Renewal was produced by Jonathan Wilson (Conor Oberst, Roger Waters, Father John Misty) and solidifies Strings’ position as a singular artist-one who honors the history of the music that inspires him, while continually pushing it forward. With the record’s sixteen tracks, Strings shares a more personal and honest perspective through his songwriting, while incorporating his wide range of influences with elements of bluegrass, classic rock, metal, psychedelic music and more.

At the risk of being labeled the loonie of the century, at age 83 I say that the subject of this song made his choice. Who am I to tell him he is wrong? His pain was immense. At any time, we make a choice as to how we will relieve our pain.

@@alshoney3 I'm not quite at the same line as you, age wise, but I'm passed the "legal" age of retirement. Still have my health and, I think (heh), most of my mind. So I agree.
I never try to advise because most of life has to be directly experienced, but if there's one thing I'd say to the young I'd say don't get so caught up in your awful that you think there's no way thru. Stick to it....because what you may lose as time goes by gets made up for in oh so many ways unfathomable to you at the time. Hold on to the joy and let go of everything else. Do this and it will see you thru.
But what do I know? I'm just skatin' along out here heading god only knows where.....and he/she/it ain't tellin'....just leadin' the way....me I just try my best to listen and follow....
