Finding out this is about suicide took it from evil to sadness. Be like the owl for your friends, the life, the eyes, and the silent protector in the darkness. Love people not things. Use things, not people.
Bela Fleck? Leftover Salmon? Grateful Dead? String Cheese? Punch Brothers? Progressive Bluegrass is diverse and has been around for a while. But yeah, Billy Strings is amazing and I'm glad he's around making awesome music and keeping the flame burning
@@thealaskapicker8628 You're right about all these other other musicians, but the Greatful Dead ist dead, after all. I love hearing Billy Strings in 2022 (the tickets for his live show are in my drawer, waiting for his live show later this year 😀)
I've been listening to Billy Strings (& The Stringers) since they started and they have grown consistently into a top notch bluegrass unit...it's been amazing to behold....
Finally! No longer have to sift thru yube tube videos to catch this song! Saw this live in August and was captivated. Been blasting and pickin it ever since. God bless everyone

I love the combination of bluegrass and punk/metal power chord work. Very cool. I’ve heard it done before but seldom this well. Elmer? Maybe they did it but Billy is a better songwriter.
Man, Billy, I sure am glad you came along, and you just get better and better. I can't wait to get my hands on my copy of Renewal when you guys send it to me. Jam on.
A good song. Consider, though, the chorus: "Well it’s a dark time I do believe A cold winds a blowin' at my door Incredible light I'm gonna find Where I don’t have to worry anymore" Despite the song’s instrumental mirth, the chorus comes from the final text messages a friend sent before committing suicide. Woof!! How's that for being hit right between the eyes in the middle of your enjoyment? Such it has been for one Billy Strings. It's a wonder he doesn't scream. John~ American Net'Zen
At the risk of being labeled the loonie of the century, at age 83 I say that the subject of this song made his choice. Who am I to tell him he is wrong? His pain was immense. At any time, we make a choice as to how we will relieve our pain.
@@alshoney3 I'm not in disagreement though would point out that your perspective as an aged person is rational. If you're maybe twenty at most it's less so overall. In any case I daresay growing old is not for the weak-minded, is it? 😉 And so it goes.

i grew up with him, went to the same school as him. i know his family and friends, so im wonderig who you are talking about. yes weve had some friends overdose and die but none meant to commit suicide that i know of, so im really wondering who the hell youre talking about.
They recorded this jam in one take. Legends
That's incredible to think about!
Highly doubtful.. I've seen it live and it's not as crisp as this
Well..you only get 1 take every night..and with the ever evolving set lists..Never know?whats coming..BEST BAND ROLLING
@@markmuth2498 that's what Billy said during the Renewal release livestream
100% accurate. Not only was it a live jam, it was the first take.
That fiddle really tyes the room together man

Oh brother, does that make this song hit so much harder.
Amen brother
Beautifully said my friend.
Finding out the words mean what they’re talking about is really wild.
Epic vibes🤙
If Meet Me at the Creek and Turmoil and Tinfoil had a child, it would be this song.
That's what immediately came to mind when I first heard this song
dont forget Red Rocking Chair which in my opinion, is the predecessor to Meet me at the Creek.
Agree mate
PROGRESSIVE BLUEGRASS a.k.a. Billy Strings music…
A darn way of life for those blessed to have this virtuoso’s guitar and voice in their ears!

Gee, I've seen that somewinterlandwhere before ; )
Not really.
BlueGRASS meets the Dead. Good Ole Americana. It's good to be alive in 25. Thank yall from deep in the heart.

What an epic song. They need to tour with Gangstagrass.
It just keeps getting better and better.
For those Who Say that perfection doesnt exist ....that Guy is the greatest .... Billy is more present in my life than Covid.. 😂🤘🏻 Never stop !
Haha! Go on Billy Strings!🤪
The thing I appreciate the most about this video is that the leaf subtly blows in the breeze.
Billy is the El Camino of music. Is it metal or is it Bluegrass?
And the answer is YES!
I'm sure my friend, he has that way about him, which I think makes him great...
Prog Bluegrass? Country metal? Fuck yeah!😂👍
Real good gitarr play and Banjo in the beginning country music❤❤❤🎉😊
Wow this is surprisingly proggy! Reminds me of Dixie Dregs :)
A masterpiece, pure and simple.
My favorite song off the album. Hints of turmoil and tinfoil and meet me at the creek in there.
So hyped on this band. This track is ethereal

"Hide And Seek"
A twisted game of hide and seek
The stench of darkness and defeat
Another day without relief
Leaves me broken
Curtains falling all around
Echoes up from underground
Screaming out without a sound
Leaves me breathless
Well it's a dark time I do believe
A cold winds a blowin' at my door
Incredible light I'm gonna find
Where I don't have to worry anymore
A feast for eyes deprived of peace
Internal pressure no release
Pain eternal my disease
Neverending
Paralyzed and drowned in thought
All the things that I have lost
My salvation can't be bought
Drains me empty
Well it's a dark time I do believe
A cold winds a blowin' at my door
Incredible light I'm gonna find
Where I don't have to worry anymore
I wasn't ready to believe
Constant failure to achieve
Nothing hidden up my sleeve
I remember
Well it's a dark time I do believe
A cold winds a blowin' at my door
Incredible light I'm gonna find
Where I don't have to worry anymore
It's a dark time I do believe
A cold winds a blowin' at my door
Incredible light I'm gonna find
Where I don't have to worry anymore
Going to see him in st. A tomorrow. Cant wait. The goats on the rise
To be honest, I hadn't heard about Billy Strings before I saw him on Jimmy Kimmel yesterday.. And now Im hooked!
I come form a long line of bluegrass musicians, nothing compares to the way Billy does it fr
I saw him do this song for the first time on the Grammy Awards Show and I was hooked.
Legends in the making! One love.
Incredible work, boys
This album lights my world on fire! 🔥🔥🔥🔥😍
Holy cow. New fan for life

What a fucking banger this is 🔥
I can't understand the " failing" thing, I think he" s great!!!
Is Billy Strings the successor to Tony Rice? No one could ever replace Tony, but this young man definitely has some chops.
I like this alot.
We can't wait to see Billy in Asheville next month in Asheville North Carolina, October 29th, my second show, my husbands first!
If there is such a thing as magic. It's there at the Billy live shows ❤
Did Mastodon help write this one?
🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥
Haven't heard anything i don't like from these guys
Shout out to all my guitar friend who learned how to play this by watching concert footage

everything’s gonna be different now….
❤️
Makes me mad that there is an ad in the literal middle of the song. I’m trying to listen to bluegrass not the oreilly jingle.
Man, Billy, I sure am glad you came along, and you just get better and better. I can't wait to get my hands on my copy of Renewal when you guys send it to me. Jam on.
Man...
Can't uploads for music be set so ads don't play in the middle only start or end?

@Hrogthar my point being that billy himself as well as fans would likely prefer that and it's a setting whoever handles the page can change.
@@lacyfins9627 It's a fair point for sure, but if you want to solve the issue for you altogether it's just an option.
