I’ve seen enough detective shows (especially Victorian ones) to know exactly this type of character. Friendly to the police and authorities, sarcastic, hears about being possibly involved in a crime and questions the police or pays little mind to it, yet even if they’re a jerk (this character isn’t) they tend to be innocent.
This one fits most of those boxes, but has his own boxes as well

Elias is very much inspired by LaCroix from Forever Knight. Although there is the tiniest glimmer of goodness in him. Don't be fooled. He'd be all too happy to show you how sinister he can be.

I apologize as I was and still am fairly new to this.
In the Audio the listener is playing the Detective, but because this was part of a series, I thought it would help the larger story to let you hear things that the detective character would not have heard.
I hope that you will stick with me as I try to improve and either way I am grateful that you took the time to listen and provide feedback.
