Nice video, man. I really wish MS would come up with more distinct names for their Azure products. Thanks for your other video on Azure AD vs Azure AD DS as well.
It begs the question why Microsoft doesn't consolidate the feature set of these two solutions and offer only one AD sync agent that does it all. Hopefully that's in development. Thanks for the continuing good content :-)
Hi i have the Microsoft 365 Business basic and i want to connect my on-premise to Azure AD connect. My question = is Azure AD connect free, do i have to pay for anything ?
Get a 365 Developer account and you can keep extending it after every 90 days as long as you're active using it. You get 25 free E5 licenses and access to Azure AD which gives you free AD Connect and Cloud Sync.
Hi, that was interesting explanation. But, you say if object writeback isn't supported in cloud sync so SSPR isn't supported too. But in reality, Password Writeback using cloud sync menu is available. So, which one is correct?
Device and group writeback is not supported with cloud sync, but password writeback is. Not sure if that changed since the video was published. Here is a feature comparison. learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/hybrid/cloud-sync/what-is-cloud-sync#comparison-between-azure-ad-connect-and-cloud-sync

Straight to the point compared to an hour long video i just watched lol
Thanks man. The last few minutes really cleared the differences up for me. Even MS's site on Cloud Sync didn't break down as well.

I thought the same.
and what about now?
Incredible summary. Well done.
Thanks for watching
I understood that the Connect was going to be phased out. Clearly the AD Cloud Sync is not the replacement product. Thoughts?
I think it's a newer product and we will likely see some improvements in functionality in the future.
Really useful video Travis. Concise and to the point. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Great explanation.
thanks Travis.

If you don't have an az104 course a to z you should create one. I'll be one of your 1st buyers 😅
I have one that covers a significant part of it. www.udemy.com/course/hybrid-identity-and-azure-active-directory/?referralCode=7F62C4C6FD05C73ACCC3
Thanks Travis :)
