Cheers Marc Glad you enjoyed it. As you say, great history. I've really enjoyed putting these ones together. Still plenty more parts to come on this story.
Hi Paul, That is 3/4 mile post.Another excellent video . Maybe there was a spring point to direct runaways into the pit .B.R. used have spring points in yards and some inclines.
Hi there. Just watched your video. The item you puzzled over was the signalling device. B = be ready, G = go and S=stop.. This rung a bell in the winding house. I remember this working and have pictures of the Sheep pasture top winder. Was a beam engine then the motion of an ex Midland Railway (freight) loco and just a few months before it closed they put in an electric winder. But you knew that! Was there on the last day of operation. Could send you pictures of I had your email. Cheers
Hi Richard. Fantastic, great to hear from you. That must have been great to see. I got to learn about the signaling device up at the Middleton Top Engine House. I'm just editing the section from Middleton to Hopton and Harboro at the moment. My email is paolocoopio@gmail.com 🙂
That's a heck of a walk up that hillside 😊
It sure was. Couldn't believe it.
Excellent video Paul. That is some massive engineering.
👍 impressive isn't it. And this is just the start
Walked up that incline many a time even fell off my bike going down. We are very lucky to have all that history 👍
Oh no I hope you wasn't badly injured. It's quite a drop isn't it.
You're right though, I take it for granted sometimes but we're so, so lucky
@@WobblyRunner it was many years ago 1995 as I remember 👍
Thats an amazing story. I'll have to have a look on line about it all. Thanks Paul, once again, great video, great history. Cheers cobber.
Cheers Marc

👍🙂
I believe from watching the old videos you're correct. The point was set by default into the pit and had to be manually pulled to divert the wagons
Great video keep up the great work.
Cheers Chris. Glad you enjoyed it 👍
