I agree with you. At the end of the day anyone who wants a particular sneaker should be able to get it without paying x amount over retail in the aftermarket, in an ideal world. Releasing a sneaker in big numbers is bad for resellers but good for people who just wanna be able to buy and wear their sneakers
But if they can’t sell through the product and have too much supply and not enough demand the businesses stock will continue to fall as it is now. This isn’t a mom and pop shot. They have stock holders to keep happy too. It’s a crazy balancing act.

Love the energy your dad and you got in your videos but I absolutely disagree with him about limiting shoes. The rise that Nike had was artificial, it was due to hype, it was a fad that is finally starting to change, it was inevitable, and it'll happen to every clothing brand company out there; they get exposure, they get hype, they get the money, then the people move on to the next thing and the value that the company was getting comfortable with decreases and it's seen as a loss rather than what it actually is: a market correction.
But idt Nike cares because the hype is enough to have people come get the next shoe that comes out that is exclusive. They might not hit on a shoe and then the next shoe, no matter if it’s exclusive or not, people will impulsively pursue that next shoe. Nike gets their bread and then they don’t care about aftermarket technically. imho
They are killing a market but it’s definitely aftermarket. We gotta remember Nike isn’t making grade A shoes no more. The main thing is they want everyone to wear their shoes. Their marketing plan isn’t fully for sneakerheads

As a pretty new sneakerhead, I'm all for there being so many pairs being released. And I also agree that being limited would be the best course for value. Personally I buy shoes to wear. Would I love for what I buy to be limited and as a result, more valuable? Absolutely. But I know I'm not getting pairs that are limited, for the most part. I hit on the Kobe Halos and Reverse Grinches last year. Probably the most limited release I've actually gotten. So for me it's a slippery slope or double edged sword. I've come to terms with the fact that I'll probably never own alot of absolute classic, must own pairs. So being able to possibly cop retros at retail is the best I'm probably going to get. As an aside, I'm DEFINITELY going for the Shadow Lows and the Elkins Trav's. With so many not currently feeling the Trav's it might be my only chance to have one in my collection. And I genuinely like the Trav's.

I actually scored a pair of the Space Jam 11s. Theyre clean and i love em- but they got one really bad flaw: they SQUEAK, like the fricken boots from Spongebob. Ive tried the baby powder and even thr WD40 trick under the insole, and they shut up the squeaking for like 5 minutes of walking before it comes back. I wanna wear em out but the squeaking is driving me nuts.

Nah I don't agree. It's a new age. More people deserve access to the shoe. I was thankfully able to cop a pair in person which has been nearly impossible now for the past several years with many annoying stories about missed drops, random drop cancelations, lies about 1 million stock when it was only 100k, late shipments etc etc. It's been awful seeing really nice stuff drop like lost and found Chicago 1s, unc blue 1s, unc toes, Mochas, unc 3s, Turbo blue 1s all drop etc and not being able to touch them at all. You know how infuriating that is??? The constant Ls on Travis dunks, Travis low 1s, OG lows powder blue, military black 4s, sb pine green 4s sold out sold out sold out sold out. It's annoying man. Happy to see the shoes spread to the masses for the culture. And it's still not as easy or limited as you were saying. It sold out everywhere. Only sizes sitting would be toddler sizes. The problem with the military blue 4’s isn’t the market or the hype it was all due to the lack luster materials used for such an iconic colorway. If they had the better insole, softer leather for the upper and maybe an extra pair of laces this shoe would have been respected more regardless of the amount in stock.
I got only 1 pair of the military blue 4’s. I like the 17’s but the price is steep. But I’m gonna try for the JBalvin’s. I passed on the cream pair and got the Jordan 3 crafts. I’m wanting this black pair. If I don’t get any W’s. I’m investing in a sole premise bag for vacation!
The white cement 3s sat for a while after release, and their numbers weren't nearly as huge as the military blue 4s, so I do think these will sit on shelves well after the release date, which means everyone who wants a pair can probably double up with no issues. I want 'em, 'cause they OG, but blue isn't a huge colour in my wardrobe atm, so matching good fits with them will be difficult. I've had my Wizards 3s for more than a year now and I've put them on maybe 3 times lol

They rather flood the market and kill off the resellers rather than making it limited and resellers up the prices 10 fold and cripple a guy that's just trying to own the shoe. I got my shit handed to me over playoff 8s they were more limited and ended up cost me a crap ton of money because of my size and resell prices. I paid like $350 for them
When it all comes down to it, TH-camrs have access to these shoes before it gets to the masses! If they make them limited, only TH-camrs will have these shoes! TH-camrs are resellers and they know that if these shoes are more accessible, theres no money to be made off them from back dooring! Think about it, every TH-camr is always talking about how much are they worth on the after market. If it’s to accessible, they won’t touch them, there for they sit! Nike doesn’t care, they figured if they raise the price an mass produce them, they make their money regardless because the masses will buy them at Nikes retail price!
