They just win one time, and you see it in the Endgame. Scarlett Witch almost took him out! He "Rained Fire" down on his own army in Endgame because she was f**king him up.
He wasn't afraid of what he might do with the stones after...he flat out said that after he corrected the Universe, he had no need for them. And others would only want it out of temptation. So he destroyed them.
I always thought Thanos destroyed the stones so that what he did could never be undone, not that he was scared of temptation.
He stated the temptation would b too great.. (to use them) do a rewatch..
He knew he was likely the one that could bring them Back in the Concentrated "Stone" Form, hence why his Alternate Reality-version says "that... Is justice Served".
It also gives him the moment to actually Fear his own Death from seeing it happen in the other timeline.
I believe this is the moment New Thanos changed his Mission... "The 1 in 14 million Chance"

there are only 3 times when thonos got scared :
1) when tony has the stones.
2) when scarlet witch beats him like a dog .
3) when captain marvel resists his blows in endgame
other than that , fighting captain cap in endgame and being chest sliced by thor did'nt even make his facial expressions change . he felt pain though

I could be wrong but, another thing with Tony and Thanos is that as soon as he realized he didn't have the stones he immediately looked at Tony. Maybe it was because he was the person who was closest to the stones or maybe he did expect that him of all people would have them.

I think when it comes to galactus, he'd be far to big to effectively put in the MCU without looking comical, I think his portrayal in the Fantastic 4 was a lot better than most give credit for, the giant swirling vortex of destruction looks quite intimidating. But that's just my opinion.

What are you talking about? Scarlett literally has the powers of the mind stone, Thanos is a formidable opponent and a force to be reckoned with but he does not has any mystic powers. So it's obvious that Scarlett can overpower him using her sorcery. Tony can't beat Thanos, with whatever. Every battle they had, he lost. In IW, he beat him fair and square with only his bare hands when he stabbed Tony with his own Blade. Remember, the win lose ratio is 14 million to one for the Avengers. They just win one time, and you see it in the Endgame. When Tony steals the stones, he does that by doing exactly what strange tells him to and stealing them and snapping isn't considered fairly beating him.

I think Thanos is afraid of people who misuse the word "decimate"
Wanda should be on this list as 1) She is the only person to make Thanos call for help during battle(MCU, Not Comics), 2) Due to him calling for help he fired his ship which killed alot of the Avengers side of the army but also killed alot of his own army, 3) She successfully held her own on a 1v1 with Thanos in Endgame until his blitz, 4) She destroyed the mind stone(which is almost impossible to destroy an infinity stone) while simultaneously holding back Thanos at the same time when he had 5 infinity stones in his gauntlet so I'd say that scared him inside as he never thought anyone could rival him at that power level, especially with one hand
