So far, we’ve climbed up to 12,000 feet on Kilimanjaro, chased zebra down the trail, bushwhacked across the savannah, and ridden through remote Maasai villages. It's been wild, it’s been life changing and we’ve found ourselves challenged in myriad unexpected ways.
One way that we haven’t yet been that challenged is the technicality of the terrain, but that’s about to change. Today’s stage is rough, rugged and unmanicured - raw and difficult in ways that even the most technical of purpose built mountain bike trails can’t hope to rival. One might say this stage brings us back to the roots of mountain biking -- which is to say, using your bike to get somewhere it has no business being.

It's one thing to be incredible bike riders with mad skills, endurance athletes, adept mechanics, and nutrition experts but to also be engaging personalities and compelling story tellers using emotional music and professional editing is quite another. That this channel has all those things come together to produce something like this is extraordinary. It's amazing what exceptional film makers you have become. Thank you for taking us along on the ride.
Best race ever. ♥♥♥ Really enjoyed reliving it through your videos. And it was all Lo's idea in the end? What a genius. :)
One of her better ideas for sure! haha
No words that can match this series. Lo - you are right - you are not a good rider, you are a *fantastic* rider. Big OMG to the crew who set and marked the course. After seeing the goats, cattle, donkeys, … I will never whine about Canada geese on the bike path again.
You four are incredible - there’s a really good chance I would not finish that race. I’m 64 and hope I can be like you when I grow up!
When the rock garden absolutely refuses to stop lol 😬
Absolutely the most incredibly moving thing you've done. Thank you for taking us along for the ride. The teamwork, the insanely strong riding from everyone, the reflection, the adventure. Just wow!!!
Lo is the MVP!
That drone shot really put things in perspective!
I'm just a dirty (clean?) roadie who hasn't even owned a MTB since 2004, but in my estimation, a good bit of that terrain would have been challenging even on motorbikes. Kudos to all four of you for making it through that under your own power, and thank you for sharing it with all of us random strangers on the internet!
As someone who has dabbled a bit with dirt bikes (but never got very good at it), I would take a mountain bike on this over a motorcycle any day!!
The way all these different video angles taken from 4 different cameras into a pretty seamless video is impressive as he...! Great video and great ride overall! You guys are GREAT!
I'm speechless. The tech ability necessary is just off the charts. Shout out to Lo! She killed it.
Getting to spend 5 days mountain biking in the shadows of Kilimanjaro is a dream and I can hear it in all of your voices how much your time spent in Tanzania has changed all of you. Tanzania is a magical place, thank you for sharing your amazing adventure. Bonus I love, love, love your Team Kit. ❤
All of you are Amazing!! Thanks for sharing your journey with us!
What is amazing in this race? Yes, there was a race, mixed couples, in fact! A true testament to Syd and Mack and their professionalism not only supporting each other as couples do but supporting their newly formed teammate. Sure, we have seen the 4 of them race together as a team and do the same. However, this also goes to show what good friends they are. What I like best was yes there were overall times shown, but at the end of the day, end of 5 days of epic views, wild beast, and unruly terrain it wasn't about a race, it was them Lo, Joe, Syd, and Macky exploring, and setting off into a complete unknown race for a cause, something more then themselves and overall finish didn't matter at the end. Together, everyone involved in the race will have stories to share once they get home, but together, they all formed a bond that will forever last a lifetime. Thank you so much for this journey, a different race of sorts. I think at the end, even though this was a race, it was a good mental (if you could call it that) break from the grueling grinding of training and usuall races we normally andnyou both compete it in.
I hope the four of you were able to get some relaxation in afterward before normal training resumed.
Just really get this whole trip at all…normally this is my favourite TH-cam channel !
Great job! Since my ankle is broken, I am binge watching all your videos. And I am doing all rides thru you guys. Thank you for the great rides. Lo, you are awesome!
Heal up fast!

Absolutely amazing!! Thank y'all so much for sharing this journey. That food looked sooooo goood.
That drone pull-out shot riding in the tracks of animals with Kilimanjaro in the background was unbelievable. An absolutely fantastic series guys, loved every minute. Well done 👏👏👏
That looks SOOOOOOO hard. I'm pretty ok with chunk but that's just rediculous.
So impressed that you all rode as much of it as you did!!!!
Awesome video and series...very well put together.
As always....thanks for bringing us along!!!!!
Amazing!!!! All of it just looked amazing, so cool! Congrats!
Boy that terrain was absolutely brutal - you all nailed it. Team work makes the dream work. Well done guys from DownUnder New Zealand.
Thank you for taking me along on the adventure to a place I will probably never be able to experience. 🥰 I’m glad you all made it through safe!
Ya know Syd, if this biking/TH-cam thing ever falls apart, you might give being a cowgirl a shot. Handling them cattle like a pro.
"scoot"
The whole series was amazing 😁
This literally gave me anxiety watching you all skipping across those rocks. They’re so unforgiving. Amazing effort everyone. 👍
That was the most amazing video I've ever seen y'all do. I felt like I was riding with yall. Toward the end of this video I got a massive cramp in my right leg!! Talk about virtual reality!! 😂 Great job to all of you for surviving that gnarly beast. Much respect!! ✌️Out. 👊💪👍
Lo just killed it.
Lo has been killing it.🤜
What an amazing race, great series, compelling storytelling... thanks for taking us along!
What an exceptional series and 🤯on these sections that look totally unridable to me and you guys just rode them, what a skills!
I'm amazed that you guys didn't rip your casings to shreds blasting through that super techy stuff.

Punishing stage....I'm amazed that you and your bike survived
I like pain as much as the next guy. But that was nuts.
It's part of the challenge!
You guys are best buds on bikes and that makes me so happy
One of the BEST, you FOUR are AMAZING 🎉
Binged all 5 episodes. Great stuff
Awesome! Thanks for watching :)
If I could give multiple thumbs up I would. What an amazing trip/race. To experience Africa in such a unique way is tremendous. WOW!
Is it just me or has Syd been a total badass throughout this event?
She is always a total badass. But she leveled up her badassery for this. New level unlocked - untouchable ❤️
That was hard! Just looking at it!! You guys did awesome!!
Congrats to all four of you. What an incredible adventure. Thanks for bringing us along!
Thank You, Thank You, THANK YOU! For all the work of filming, editing and publishing this truly excellent content! And of course, for always being awesome.👍🏼👍🏼
You guys Rock in this last stage, literally 🤙🤙🤙
Being from that part of the world (Kenya), and a swahili speaker - and hearing Syd and Mack (Lo & Joe too) saying - "Mambo?" or "Habari"(which means ... how are you?) was quite special. The rock gardens were soo well done on this series - and what a treat to see you guys experiencing my neck of the woods. The drone shot was epic. ... . What a sustainable way to tour !! -- "Asante Sana - na Karibu tena" ( thanks very much and welcome back. ) ...
Asante sana for watching ;) such a beautiful part of the world!
Love you guys… thanks for towing us along the way with your amazing footage and kindness. ❤

The drone shot at around 31:00 gave me the chills. Wow.
I am exhausted just watching, looks so difficult. Lo is so impressive great job you guys, thank you for sharing!
I am so incredibly impressed by all 4 of you. That was nuts to watch. As viewers, I think we're getting about 0.5-1% of the epicness you guys experienced. Well done.
Wow! Another amazing video series. I am very glad you did it so I don't have to.
Amazing experience!🙌🫶🙏🤘
Hi, love to hear your take on the Ari bikes and how they handled such a punishing trip. Make a great video on the work it takes to bring them back to race form…
Right!! They sure dud put them through the test out there for sure
Every time I saw wilderbeast or zebras or gazelles etc. I thought are they running because they see movement or is a lion chasing them. LOL OMG The African terrian around the volcano is just dangerous to walk or ride wow I don't know how you race in that stuff but you did it ....incredible guys just incredible I loved the series. :) :)
Outstanding!!👏👏👏
That technical section was so crazy, had to watch video a second time.
Congratulations you four, what an amasing feat!!!😊
A face branch is a necessary accessory when mountain biking, gives you 10% more speed XD you guys did amazing in this stage! GO GO GO!
I have ridden some nasty trails in 40 years of XC but that was next level nasty.
I love my Fanttik air inflator no more co2 cartridges on my rides, thanks for showing it in action. As always great video and what an awesome adventure this trip has been for you guys.
i have used my Fanntik on rides and been able to help my fellow riders!!
Crying like a baby at the end!!! These videos were incredible!! Congratulations on your courage and exceptional riding ! Congratulations also for the quality of the videos and very cool editing! You guys are awesome !!!!
I was crying editing it too!! xoxo thanks for watching!
This series has been epic! So glad you guys shared this experience with us! This last video reminds me a lot of the terrain at Marji, and you guys rocked it! You will kill it in September! 🤙
What an amazing adventure, and +1 for no stitches or helicopter rides!
Enjoy all of your videos. But this stage race video is definitely my favorite!!!
I absolutely loved watching these videos. It looked truly amazing and a lot of fun, but also a lot of hard work👏👏
What a cool experience! A gorgeous country for sure. My father is on his way there in three weeks to the southern part of the country to set up a print shop on an 5000 acre farm. I very well may have to visit myself. Love watching your adventures, keep it up!
Just a very cool vibe to this trip.
I’m a little sad to see it come to an end.
What a wild adventure! Thank you for showing us the journey!
what magic!
Awesome, awesome, AWESOME!!
This looks so incredibly mentally taxing on top of the physical challenge! You four are absolute monsters, way to be awesome ❤
You won a belt buckle a sash and a war club or was that a human femur😮. Awesome stuff. Congrats to all!
Such an epic adventure! Thank you for letting us see the world through your eyes.
Omg Lo. I would have tossed my bike, broke my own derailleur, swore for 10 min, left it, and hiked out.
Hahahaha
Thank you for sharing ❤
So amazing videos lovet
Great series. Amazing work everyone. Thanks for sharing.
You guys should please consider doing the Cape Epic or Wines 2 Whales (XC Marathon Stage racing) in South Africa.
Where's the trail?...over in that field of boulders..with a side of thorns up your nose....ALRIGHT!!...that trail was for trials riders....holy smokes that looked tough.
Way to go guys!Amazing race!
Not my kind of riding but epic adventure and glad you enjoyed Africa 🎉 Maybe kap sani 2 sea if you ever this way again
Congratulations on completing the race! That looks like such an incredible trip. I would love to be able to do a ride like this in my future!
Beautiful series. Mad respect for all the extra work it takes to takes us along the ride on these extremely challenging adventures. It’s already hard enough with the burden of making an epic story for us. Thanks 🫶
So good! The whole series. Such interesting riding terrain that seems quite taxing?😂
Really enjoyed this series, unbelievable country and race!!
Really nice outro, with the music and best sequences from the last 5 episodes. You should definetely try to continuje to do something like that for future outro of stage races. It gave me really good vibes !
Thanks! :)
Congratulations , awesome job to both teams. You definitely tested your bike's on those stages!
What an awesome adventure way cool!
Thanks for sharing your adventure. Tanzania is beautiful! But some of that terrain is horrific for riding. I think the race organizers need to rethink some of that course. It’s a “hike-a-bike fest” 😂
Great work, what an amazing ride. Today’s vid is perfect for my fav MB word: janky!
Loved this series especially the music!
This was an epic adventure! Loved every minute of it!
It’s interesting that in 100 years, historians will look at video series like these to see how people lived in 2024
One of your best videos! Loved it!
AMAZING!! Thankyou 🇰🇾
This was amazing 😍🤩 Thank you guys so much for sharing this journey 💪🏾💯🤙🏾
