Blasts are awesome to watch. I have driven a cat 775 haul truck for 2 years now. I get to see blasts from time to time but maybe half this size. We crushed 1.2 million tons this year.
I know nothing about quarrying; what I found extraordinary was the amount of control achieved. So neat! The rock looked ready-graded. 68 tons of explosive, eh? Very efficient. The video is fascinating to watch, although I'm not too keen on the music - I'd rather have heard voices, radios, etc. Thanks for the upload; and yes, the earth did move for me... ;-)
Very big bang :) nicely done .. wonder how much 68 tonn of dynamite cost!! :) (and the work drilling :) ....guess stone still sell good.. what is it used for this high quality rock?
Bremanger stone, known by the name Bestone®, is highly suitable for the construction of roads, for use in concrete mortar, railroad construction and hydraulics.
@@taunteratwill1787 I like the small ones with chicken gravy. They make you a little constipated, but if you sprinkle extra virgin olive oil, on them little small ones, you can poop them out a little easier.
Very nice thank you I to come a real one I just saw a maybe 50ibs worth one ,lol. I was 200 yards maybe they called it a huge one .Thanks All that hard work just to make more work ,well done.
Now it this takes a week to get ready and a minute to blast … How long we'll be done with the Alps, Pyrenees, Himalayas, Andes and Rocky Mountains (plus a few Kilimandjaros and Fujis) so that the art is completely flat and makes driving and , most importantly, mountain climbing, easier and more affordable ?
What is it with you Tubers? You film some potentially interesting event at the amateur level in low def and then what, you get John Williams to score this pedestrian contribution?
Did you notice the text at the beginning "high quality rock"!? OK they don't quality for what? It seems its alrady cracked when tha blast goes. Instant pavement for roads?
"quality" of rock generally refers to how hard it is -- if it isn't hard enough they can't use it for construction. Yes, there are cracks in the rocks but the blast breaks it into smaller pieces that can be handled and crushed into the smaller sizes needed for constitution.
The bench face and surface are likely just fractured near the exposed portions from previous blasts, and rock quality would be irrelevant to your point in that case.
Did we Americans assist in making this video? I thought we were the only ones who would put intrusive pitiful music where real sounds should be! We are rather disappointed in your apparent taste but wish you the best of luck.
Absolutely epic, what a bench blow. Good vid.
Why is there a Northern Irishman commentating on a Norwegian quarry blast ?
Elegant salve, Johnny. Bra video.
Very neatly done -- the detonations were delayed to cast the fractured rock for easiest removal.
Excellent work. Very uniform product, but could you please explain how delayed explosion helps removal?
Very impressive, loved the delay action
Music is terrible.
Couldn't you leave the blast sound only ?
This pseudo dramatic elevator music gets on my nerves.
vincent7520 we will do that just for you, Vincent...
exactly
vincent7520 Bello
agreed, the music was irritating af
Yep, I muted the sound as soon as the music started. So no idea if there was any narration.

Impressive blast , great videography!
You could also blow up 136 mosques in the air with the same amount of explosives, how Nice and Cool will that look like, it will look fucking Cool..

What is the material used for?
The last time I saw explosive heaving action this good is when my girlfriend finished off a pint of Johnny Walker Red by herself.
whoever edited this video did a great job
Does Slartybartfast know you're blowing up his fjords? He won awards for those you know!
The loader guys were like “dude! I just this place cleaned up!”
And then came the earthquakes 😡🤬😡😠
68 tons for 360kt that's like a 5+ blast ratio
Is that not on the high side. Did they want oversize for some reason ?
Some excellent filmwork here. Incredible demolition.
They have some experience! That’s a great shot, little wasted energy and looks like great gradation
can you tell me the gravity of this rock
what was the reading on the earthquake machines. beautiful blast. Thanks for a very good video.
How do you know the yield? You must have very large weighing scales!
What kind of drill rigs did you use ?
I WANT TO KNOW WHAT THOSE "valuable" ROCKS ARE USED FOR.
stucco
How much cost its taken
Yeah, that's nothing special we have blasts like that every week in Australian coal mines.
how many specific charge?
Did you mean destruction blast ? :)
Very big bang :) nicely done .. wonder how much 68 tonn of dynamite cost!! :) (and the work drilling :) ....guess stone still sell good.. what is it used for this high quality rock?

glad to work there
High Quality Rock Explained??????? Not.
thats one way to remove a mountain.
Nathan Dean Nukes is much better option to destroy everything in it path.

Nathan Dean Lots of mountains in Norway, and I mean LOTS.
Paul Simon What did you do with Art?
I wonder how long it'll take them to clear that up till the next blast??
Russell Anderson depends on the dumper and excavator size
That looked like a cast blast so the drills get to work drilling the next pattern right next to that shot. Same day.
Whats the blasting for?
how and what are these rocks used for?
MultiSkyman1
For little rocky gardens and rock puzzles. In times of famine the small ones are eaten.
To feed the needy , dude is that even a question ? Google is your friend !
Everything from masonry to roads to countertop to... you get the point. Look around, there is stone all around you.
Patrick Turner not sure about countertops on this blast , almost guarantee that

Ammonium nitrate. ...(sodium bisulphate and pure nitrate salt...oil and fuel...ANFO
Shouldn’t the title be “how gravel is made?”
Roughly 50,000 solo dumptrucks worth of rock.

what the hell is it for. what they building
They should have took out the rest of the bench...But, it gives a a good back up I guess.
what is the rock for?
For a rock concert.
@@michielvantwist ah, The Rolling Stones?
@@jwdickinson643 Eh no, for 'The Stone Roses'
@@michielvantwist did The Rolling Stones merge with Guns an’ Roses? 🤪🤪😁😁🤣🤣🤣🤣

+nuthin like gettin yer rocks off eh......
Why? I mean, what was the goal?
Stone to crush for road surfacing, concrete aggregate, railway track ballast, and one on yr toe for stupid question, search the net.

I like how they blame him HE’S NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT MAKES DECISIONS!!! Stop blaming him and blame your LOCAL Mayors congressman governors.
awesome!!!
NICE heaving action!!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Childsplay, should have seen my blast this morning. This after the Tacobell yesterday!
"High quality rock" in what sens? Must be the mineral content and not solidity.
I was expecting a bigger blast.
Yes, what is a high quality valuable rock?
TNT 68t is 2.85 x 10^11J, it's same about Fat Man/300, M5.3 earthquake.
Sorry that's just not correct. 5.3 earthquake is far far more powerful.
That’s a lot of Rock....
What was the freaking purpose of it?
Just having a blast.
so what is the deal are they mining something or what ?
i doubt the just blew it up for the fun of it .

maybe only 360204 ton .. huh ? :-)
more items for scale next time
That was a work of art....
That was one big blast
Amazing
"Great fragmentation" of "high quality" rock. To me it seems to be heavily cracked before the blast.
The bench face and surface are likely just fractured near the exposed portions from previous blasts, and rock quality would be irrelevant to your point in that case.
Face would have been cracked from back break from previous blasts. Behind it will be solid
That was a popcorn fart
Awesome!
looks like a cake slice, just perfect.
One use of these rocks is for conceete aggregates.
Your car came from rocks.
Been doing this in Minecraft.
i dont know muck bout mining but all i know is that ''ITS LIT''
I have some rocks in my backyard that you can have for free.....
The music... Just a wee bit excessive. Almost humorous.
