Me too, after a 30 year break and finding a 60th Anniversary D-Day kit set in a charity shop for £5 unopened. Just putting my brushes, paints, etc. together again first, before I start building again.

The 190 build was cool on its own, but the diorama really puts it over the top.

I use to build dioramas in my early twenties,loved it. Won some best of shows in the late eighties and nineties.

Splendid display lots of time and energy put into this great job. Love the tunes.
Looks very good. I like it.
What I do for painting figures is: (I use Vallejo acrylics)
1: prime in 3 stages
A: full coverage black primer.
B: spray gray primer from above at 40-45 degrees
C: spray white primer from directly above
2: base coat
3: mix shades and highlights 50% paint & glaze medium and apply accordingly
4: seal with gloss coat
5: wash with thinned oils
6: retouch highlights and add weathering as desired (e.g. Oil, dirt, grass, blood)
7: seal with ultra matte
8: apply satin clear to skin and gloss to eyes and any clean metal (satin to dirty/heavily scratched metal)
One more tip to share. With moss, I found moss texture paint; or mix ultra fine sand of fine glass powder (the ready made moss textured paint uses glass) in two-three tones. It looks super real. That's how I achieved the real moss look on my stone walls (see my Facebook store for images).
And using the readymade grass mats isn't cheating. I call that working smarter, not harder. 😉😂 I say, if you can afford it, go for it. The one you used looked really good.

I know this is an older video of your's, but as a miniature painter by profession, yes I am in fact a commission painter, I can say that your miniature painting is pretty good.
Your mix of oil and acrylic paints is very good and the faces are plenty good enough. You don't need to go painting their eyes at this scale. Especially when your focus is the overall diorama.

For me, a diorama should not only be believable, but should also tell a story. You do both very well. Thank you for the video.
