I played this through recently as part of playing the whole series. I was surprised how slow the PAL DC version felt, so I played the USA version which is much smoother and a little bit faster. Loved it. My favourite in the series is Runabout 2 on PS1.
@@RacingGameArchive possible on a chipped PAL DC, or using a region free disc. But worth getting a GDEMU for DC to load games from SD card. You don't need any extras like fans and holders and new PDU, just get a GDEMU.
@@mattsephton Thanks! I like to collect on the games as well so try to play my own discs. DC racing games starting to get a bit bigger now, haha. Even if its pretty darn small still.
@@RacingGameArchive yeah, I collect physical too. I'm just lazy and fancied a quicker, quieter, less hassle setup. It also allows you to play Atoniswave exclusive arcade racers. There's also a rear SD card reader available, that doesn't replace the disc drive. It's not quite as compatible, a bit of a faff, but it's what I used before upgrading to the GDEMU.
Felt slow? PAL games on the Dreamcast have 60Hz support too aside from about 3 or so. Though I understand how those locked at 50Hz feel slower, the PS2 was a major offender for the 50Hz lock.
I will never get to see how to finish Scenario B Special Mission 2 under the time limit, everybody seems just fine with doing the base 6 - 6 missions of either sides as a "playthrough"...

The getaway, mafia... Pero el runabout esté me quedó marcado
in which emulator do you play this? i tried nulldc and redream and they dont work with the game. only flycast plays it for me but it has terrible slowdowns... it makes it almost unplayable

I havn't played the american version, I gotta import it one day. DO you need to have a US DC to get better speed or is it possible to use a PAL DC?

@@Samura1gamer I'm using a half cheap vga > HDMI that upscales to 1080p, guess the digital input makes it easier to upscale :)
