You're a true gem, GPS! Stay shining & healthy!
I really appreciate your videos. I got an AAS in Network Admin and then was able to find an internship that lead to full-time work. I did help desk for a little over 2 years and then an opportunity for advancement opened up. I am now a windows admin but my supervisor told me he wants me to learn lots of the things that you talk about, and subsequently that I am interested in. So, with any luck, I'll be taking training that will provide the skills needed to eventually work my way into cloud.
Spot on GPS! I tend to call it layers. You have to understand and be able to stack and apply the layers to accomplish what is required. It is tempting to take shortcuts and skip some of the more important layers like networking or Linux, but this will make your life and your employer's life difficult. I have found that practice and more practice in your weak areas is the best approach. Again, specifically speaking for myself coming from a background of reading animal books from O'Reilly. You are correct on how now, the learning barrier is much lower due to having chatGPT/LLMs that are capable of describing any concept on demand.
The problem begins when the cloud engineers in your company prepared a template for deploying cloud apps and now you, a back-end dev, have to do devops involving Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, Ansible Tower, MQL, Jinja and a bunch of other tools. I enjoy knowing multiple technologies but this industry has forgotten that there is such a thing as specialization.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I’m working on my AAS currently after having a degree in something else.
I'm starting my azure cloud resume challenge and going through 104 learning path. I have been looking at your learning path too. I just feel like I'm taking too long to do everything.
Thank you! I'm been trying to create my own study guide but didn't really know what I needed.
Appreciate Your engagement and way of sharing yours experience. Keep rocking like this
I appreciate you. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for sharing your journey and knowledge with us.
yep, basically my main excuse is the "learning all the things" even though I already have the networking thing but afraid to learn the other stuffs.
Thank You So Much, Ma'am. Appreciate it.
Hi GPS , had an interesting question. Can I use doing gigs on freelance as a way of gaining experience after completing the tutorials and personal projects ?
of course
Very realistic and practical advice!
It felt like this was a personal video for me since it is precisely where I'm at! ...and will certainly follow your roadmap.
Thanks for keeping things real.

Thank you for making these videos. 🙏
Thanks for very useful video, as a system and network guy looking into cloud
Thank you GPS...love you for what you do
Subscribed for your genuineness 😇
Thank you for all that you share and do. :)
Great advice! I've been an IT tech for many years, looking to become a sys admin, which certs would you recommend me ? I thought about doing these: Azure Administrator Associate + Microsoft Hybrid Server, Network+ or CCNA, Linux+
Thanks for being genuine. See you next video.
Thanks @GPS
This Is very Insightful Thanks GPS
Hey GPS you should do a EDC (Every Day Carry) video. I'm sure many of us would be interested to know what you use daily
interesting, like tech edc?
@@MadeByGPS Yep!
When you say cloud abstract and azure function is computing model with abstractions in it.
Does the word abstraction means unique service?
abstract as in you don't know what it entails on a deeper level.
Have you got any AZ-800 videos or plans to do help around it
you're the best!
Meanwhile, I’m over here struggling to just pass ITF+ 🤦🏻♀️ talk about a fail.
😁😁😁

It is not a discipline. No so-called “* engineers” will have the same duties in different organizations. If on goes around with the title “systems *” one should understand how any system works and integrates with any other system.
