Thank you for a most detailed and helpful review of this Tapo camera. I understand and appreciate all the work that you have put into the production. Greetings from UK.
Hi, thanks very much for your feedback. Indeed, this is my longest video review on this channel. I hope it will help more people to obtain a better idea of what this camera is capable of.
Very interesting camera. The quality is very good for a security camera, night vision is excellent. The pan & tilt is a must have for this type of camera because the field of view is normal and not extra wide like on a dash cam.
Yes, it is only around 15-20 fps. I think this is done to reduce the size of video files, as well as a pretty low bitrate, which is about 1000kbps, while my Canon DSLR's bitrate is about 60000kbps for fullHD resolution.
Very good review. by the way, they have another model up c212 which has wifi and Rj45 connection and costs 32 euros. does it keep recording on the SD card when the wifi is switched off? i am guessing no
Hi, thanks for your feedback! I noticed there was a C212, but it was in the white color gamut; the black one was only C211. Otherwise, I would probably have chosen the C212. And to answer your question: yes, the camera will record everything to the microSD card even when there's no internet, and then you can access it later either simply via Wi-Fi or by checking the card itself.
Hi, thanks for your feedback! I think you basically need to repeat the same steps as setting it up on the first smartphone (install the app, login) except you don't need to add the camera, because it should be already added in your account. Hope this helps!
Hi, good question! The answer is yes, the camera records everything even without internet access. Later, you can easily access the videos either via Wi-Fi or directly from the microSD card itself. Hope this helps!
Hi, you don't need to be connected to the same WiFi network to remotely view and control the camera, as this is the primary purpose of a remote security WiFi camera. Once you've downloaded the app to your phone, logged in, and added your camera to the app, you can control it from any network, such as your mobile network or any other WiFi network in the world. My guess is that the reason why you're not able to control it from another network may be because the router that you have connected the camera to has an issue with internet access or no internet access. In this case, it will be limited to only one network and can be controlled from there. Hope this helps!
@@PulsarTECH Thanks for the response. I tried it this morning and it worked fine on my mobile data. I think the issue is my slow wifi around evening. Great video BTW 👍
Hi, just follow all the steps exactly as in the video. Make sure to disable any VPN connection during the setup if there are any. Also there might be a mistake in the Wi-Fi SSID password possibly. Other than that, it should connect as shown in the video. Hope it will work!

I'm buying one. Thank you. This is the review that I'm looking for.
Glad I could help. Thanks for your feedback!
Thanks for reviewing the app as well👍
You're very welcome!
Night mode is impressive😮 can see clearly almost everything.
Indeed, it is quite capable!
The continuous recording as well as motion detection option is excellent especially because one can choose manual the time of the day and week.
Good point!
Wow, aside from the intro music montage, this is the best video review of this security camera!
Thanks! 😃
Great camera. The app is excellent.😊
I think so too!

Hey, is there any way to enhance the audio? I can't hear conversation clearly from 1.5 meters distance

What about microphone? Do you hear clearly recorded sounds?
Very good and helful video.
Glad you liked it
Is there anyway to turn off the IR LED as there was in previous models?
You know, I would like to know that too but I couldn't find an option to turn them off. Let me know if you find.
Can you download the app on more than one phone??
Of course, there's an option to share the camera, so you can share it with others.
Is this gonna work even if I’m in a different country?
Yes, as long as your camera is connected to the router with an internet access, you can access it from anywhere in the world via the app.
Does the camera continuously record videos on the SD Card if it got disconnected from the internet/router?
Hi, good question! The answer is yes, the camera records everything even without internet access. Later, you can easily access the videos either via Wi-Fi or directly from the microSD card itself. Hope this helps!
How do you use remote viewing away from home? I'm only able to use it when I'm connected to the same wifi

@@motiv glad it worked! There's definitely a more noticeable delay when on mobile data. Thanks for your feedback.
Can we upload recording directly to cloud instead of sd card?
Hi, yes you can, but you will need a subscription with a Tp-Link Cloud I believe. I don't think you can upload to just any cloud backup.
@@PulsarTECH yes i will buy tplink subscription.
@@Sakuib right on, let me know how it goes!

Is there surveillance? Is it free?
Hi, not sure what you mean by surveillance? It's a security camera or surveillance camera, whatever you prefer unless you mean something else.
Thank you , mine will be delivered tomorrow. Hope it’s as good as it looks and performs as you have kindly shown.

It requires a long wire to operate, that's really annoying...
