Having stayed in plenty of hotels with a noisy staff, I would love to stay in a hotel with a staff that just hovers above the floor and floats down the stairs.
Also, most hotel rooms would benefit from having a mist covering the carpet.

People give Luigi stick for falling for these schemes, but let's not forget: this isn't the first time Mario's been framed by a conniving third party while on holiday.

With the whole art deco feel of the hotel and the spooky bellhop, I'm getting heavy Tower of Terror vibes from this. In fact, Luigi really wants to think twice about getting in that elevator...

Ghosts are normally seen as bad because they violate the mind when they possess people, but these ghosts don't even do that. In fact, the "worst" thing they do to their enemies is to immortalize and preserve them for all of eternity as a beautiful painting!
Meanwhile, the living folks *are* running around possessing people, killing animals, wrecking up the place, destroying dead souls by beating them with their friends' corpses, and "collecting" sentient beings to imprison them and study them!
This Sniper Luigi prequel really is different from the other games in the other ones
This is actually the sequel. His crippling PTSD has, in his mind, him fighting all the ghosts of the men he killed in the war.

I am surprised that Luke did not make Luigi stand in the middle of his hotel room, had him listen for any noises and then just walk down to the reception, demanding another room.

As someone who used to put those ghirardelli squares on pillows (at a different Disney resort), they are not mint. They're also typically an extra cost.

...Does anybody else wonder what Bowser's doing while all this is going on? For some reason, I just picture him sprawled on the couch, halfheartedly binge-watching some Mushroom Kingdom soap opera while he waits for his favorite neighbors to get back from their holiday -- he seems like the type who really doesn't know what to do with himself when he can't invite Peach over for the weekend.

That's hilarious Luke, actually my wife has a device that makes white noise so she can sleep in other places. It's essentially a fan that doesn't blow air. You should look into one. They're very handy.

That hotel must be fancy if it has a toilet. Neither Mario's house nor Peach's castle have toilets (although they do have pipes, for some reason).

it sounds very similar to a Goldie Lookin' Chain (GLC) song and something tells me I've heard a mention in some manor of them before on the channel or streams
I'm not disapproving of OxBox for this by the way I enjoy GLC for their comedic music although it is NOT PG at all, it's very much 18+ so, not on brand for these lovable lot!
It's probably not a large portion of people's cup of tea either, but as a spontaneous sing along moment goes, I had fun!

The GLC song is itself a parody of a song called Spirit in the Sky which is a pretty well known rock and roll song about dying and going to heaven so they my have been referencing that instead o the GLC parody.
The original line is "When I die and they lay me to rest, I'm gonna go to the place that's the best."
I think it was used in one of the Guardians of the Galaxy trailers.
