    Nothing worked! for two days, but then I tried the pressure trick one but with my knee (more pressure, weight), all the surface, both sides. Then connected to the charger and power button for 30 seconds, and magically it turned on! The battery was at 0% despite being connected before hen I had tried almost everything already! This video saved my phone, for now!

    My 3a XL's screen went to a pixelated mess, and was unresponsive. I couldn't boot in safe mode, or do a reset. The hard squeeze technique fixed the problem immediately! Much appreciated. Google was telling me i'd have to send it to a repair shop, and might not be covered with a warranty.

    Heads up: DO NOT DO THE STUCK POWER BUTTON TRICK. I did that when my phone was still responsive, but still with a permanent black screen. When the phone is on, this actually triggers the Emergency Call feature, and long story short, this process ended in an accidental 911 call. Not trying to bash this video maker, I'm sure something must have changed software-wise since 2019, but just wanted to make sure nobody else has this embarrassing incident like I did

    @worldoftech: Be aware! Fast tapping the power button like mentioned at about 2:05 actually calls 911 on my phone (I think it is a setting you can turn on or off)! I still didn't have my screen back, but the call connected and I had to explain that I accidentally called 911. I even ha to have her hang up, because I had no way of stopping the call.

    • @TheLanceAdams
      @TheLanceAdams 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Likely the screen went bad. I have a Pixel 3 that has been fine since purchase (new) at launch, it suddenly had a total black screen in September 2021 and I haven't seen anything on it since -- except for while charging I can sometimes get it to display a green light on the screen. I can hold power button and feel it vibrate, I can also feel a vibration if I touch the fingerprint sensor or long-press in the bottom-left where the 'back' button would be.

    Thank you so much! I took my phone to the local phone repair store, it was stuck in a boot loop and they couldn't solve the issue. I was advised to drive an hour away because it was a software issue. I chose to google first and came across your video. I followed all of the steps with the exception of the freezer and was able to complete factory reset. I will lose some things, but it is so much better than having to replace the phone in which case they would have been lost anyway and I would have been out unnecessary funds on top of it.

I held the power button, tried the power button and up volume, power button and down volume to no avail. Then I took the case off and cleaned the sensors like you stated here (doubting that such a silly problem would stop the phone from turning on) and then held down the power button and the Google Logo magically appeared! I TRULY hate giving this a thumbs down, but alas, I must be in the 30% of those that are not successful. I did every step, including the freezer, and I do not have a black screen, but I have a screen that is non responsive and I cannot move up or down, nor bring down the settings window.
    When I reboot I feel the haptic vibration and to activate any app or icon I must push it once to center on it and twice to activate it. I have tried recovery and reset modes, but cannot get beyond boot mode. So far I have not been able to do a factory reset since I can never get beyond whatever is on the main (showing) screen. I may resort to removing the battery and seeing if that works.

    I felt like a moron pressing my phone hard, but this worked. Thanks. I dropped it hard and it turned black but the phone would buzz and the fingerprint scanner worked. Looks like it may have disconnected the ribbon connection

    Had a boot loop. Cleaned the sensors. Holding the power button didn't work but rapidly pressing it gave me a "no command" error. After holding the power button again it botted up.

    I'm not sure which part of this worked, but it did! Thanks! I don't have a phone repair center anywhere near me, so this was great!
