  • Materials used were a 2x4x8, a 1x4x8, nails, wood glue, wood filler, and spray paint.
    We ripped the boards to get two 2x2x8's for the legs and four 1x2x8's for the rest.
    If you are going to do something like this, you MUST GLUE and nail every piece on or else it will creak and be wobbly! The wood glue is super important.
    We used wood filler on all the nail holes to make it look better.
    This stand was for the 4.5 gallon Berkey water system. It could also be a plant stand.
    We hope you enjoyed watching us make our Berkey water filter stand. Thanks for watching!

    I have to say, I'm absolutely blown away by your creativity! Not only can you invision something inexpensively, you can build it! And Ashley is a terrific help-mate.

    Really enjoyed that build. So glad I have been watching your older videos while waiting for new posts. I usually find myself building stuff either for myself, the Wife or our home. Later

    Push sticks 1000 times push sticks. This should be your project before any other table saw work. And your helper (haven't watched enough to know your relationship) is in the exact right spot to catch a flying piece of wood. Use push sticks and let them fall onto the ground/ outfeed support of some kind.
    Otherwise, cool design I like it.

    You are so talented in creating woodworks on the fly.... The color looks great and ties in with the painting on the wall! 😀

      Thank you, Tara! The color was so ugly when it was first sprayed on but luckily it dried way better, haha! Yea it does match it perfectly!, but it's actually crewel embroidered (we like string art, lol).

    What are the final dimensions?

  • @daemonlee6259
    @daemonlee6259 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    does it wobble at all? I would have thought that you needed more support at the bottom.

    • @diyfferent
      @diyfferent  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      No, it doesn't wobble. We glued all joints before nailing and the glue is what really keeps it all sturdy.

  • @123samify

    I tried this and failed miserably. I tried to use a hammer and finish nails instead of a nail gun and couldn’t get the nails through so I used screws and that split my small pieces in half. When I finished, the stand looked super warped and wobbly. You made it look very easy.

    • @diyfferent
      @diyfferent  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry! Keep an eye out for a kitchen stool to use for a Berkey stand.

  • @adjones723
    @adjones723 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Water sounds like it’s filtering way too quick. Did you prime the filters when you put them in?

    • @diyfferent
      @diyfferent  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, we primed them. The newer the filters are, the faster the water filters through them. If you don't prime them, water would have a hard time going through them.

    Not sure why you didn't like the color, Ash? Isn't that your front door color at this place? If you've still got this, maybe a can of appliance black would do the trick.

      Cool, because of you, I just bought and received my Berkey. Our water here is hard and tastes terrible. I used to have very good water where I lived before. Hoping for a good glass of water and to stop buying bottled water.

    • @JamesCouch777
      @JamesCouch777 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@susanadams290 we bought a berkey because our water tasted so bad. We had it tested and there was nothing bad in it. It tasted much better from the berkey but not as good as bottled water but we use it for cooking and other places we need clean water.
