Great breakdown thanks! I just bootlegged a remix of this with a stem separator, and one thing to note is the division of body and brain bass that’s I guess are part of the main synth. The body bass is a syncopated hit either side of the kick (a common trance/techno trick), and the brain bass is an octave higher and part of the synth pattern. Also the main synth is programmed like a 303 relying on accents and slides giving the sound its signature. Another wierd thing is how 3/4 of the way through the swing is all wac, especially on the synth, maybe a happy accident / midi sync error?
@@suryadnb yes you can. The Arturia Arp vst sounds sick but you can do it with any synth that has saw waves basically. It's mostly about the right processing t
@@bobmoegrabi I get that. But it doesn't bring me closer to figuring out how to actually build my patch and process it. My question was never "Is it possible" but "how do I go about recreating it"
That "UFO sound" is very likely manually modulated self oscillating filter, processed through delay and deep hall reverb. Producer must had used some classic monosynth like Korg MS-20 or Roland SH-101.
The lead synth is an Arp Odyssey MK3 (black + orange). In a studio photo from that time, one can also see another Arp Odyssey MK2 (white). The UFO FX modulation is very regular. I'd say, it's most likely LFO modulated. But I don't know which synth and how exactly that works. Heckmann has a wall of Roland System 100M modules. There is a gear list on the inside of the CD Album cover with Amphetamine.

„Little synthline“ 😂unleashes the most badass sawtooth hurrikane in history😅
Damn, was hoping for a breakdown on how to recreate that lead.

Thomas Heckmann said that he used an Arp Odyssey MK3 for the lead.
@@drydessert4198 Sure. But my question is: can I reproduce a very similar sounding patch with soft synths?
