PLEASE HELP Ok I've been trying to get the feliun ft012 RC boat ...hows this compare... the FT012 I've tried ordering it twice and never showed up... looking for something same size and speed ... would you suggest this one or another ?
1. Needs to be used on flat water. Any wind or chop and it dives. 2. It lets water in. The hole in the grommet for the rudder is too big. 3. The receiver is not waterproof in anyway. I had to put my receiver in the sun for one day for it to dry out. 4. The servo is not waterproof. My servo stopped. Took it apart and it started working but is not reliable. 5. The prop is plastic and will snap or fatigue pretty quickly. Mine lasted 10 battery packs only. It comes with one spare, but if you change to metal like stainless steel or beryllium copper then you also need to change the ‘dog’ before the prop. Overall it’s a great cheap introduction to boats, but if you love it you will need a better boat or you will need to: 1. Use a waterproof servo or 2. Waterproof the servo and receiver yourself using balloons and silicon and conformal coat etc 3. Change to a metal dog and prop 4. Get a few batteries because it’s hilarious to drive!!
When I was a little kid in the mid 90s, I loved all things RC. I had an RC Harley davidson motorcycle, one or two RC trucks and cars... and I always wanted a boat or chopper. The problem was, back in the 90s, the technology was garbage. The batteries went by quickly, and the range sucked. A lot of times the thing would not respond well to your controls. It was wonky. It's cool to see how far the tech has come in only 20 somethin years. Amazing battery life, rechargeable USB ports, and response and range.
I was same way I had rc cars trucks I had an rc plane but I never flew it because once I finally got the thing together electronics installed my big foot sister came along and accidentally stepped on wing and broke it in half 150 bucks down the drain and I never got another plane again then about 3 years ago I decided to get back into the hobby I’m 4 RC’s in now I have a scale rock crawler, rally car, rock crawler monster truck and a basher I drive like a maniac doing jumps I have a drone but it’s toy grade with a camera I’m thinking of getting a boat if I can figure out where to store it in closet lol
@Sheldon I had one of those my grandma got it out Sears catalog for Xmas it had one button on the control it was wireless but range was like 50 feet u press button and it would only turn in one direction in reverse I drove it all over the house the batteries lasted a week lol back then everything was simple electronics wasn’t power hungry like they are now
just bought it .. based on the first 8 minutes and the title. I always wanted a brushless boat and watched many of your reviews ... but I finally now I feel like this one is for me.

TOTALLY AWESOME boat!! LOVED the way Abby puts it through the wringer!! She had it knife-edging on those sharp turns, if I may apply that term for a MARVELOUS boat!! Thanks Saylors for the FUN in the SUN and a first class review!! 💟👍😘
I saw the vid on the FT012, and thought I would give it a try. I Found one on BANGGOOD, still under $100.00. It came yesterday, we charged it up, greased the drive components. This is my first RC boat. My granddaughter and I put it in the water, and it performed flawlessly. It tipped over and my granddaughter righted it , no problem. My granddaughter really loves it, and I may have to get another one Thanks for Ya'll's straight up reviews. I think I will subscribe. Ken Top Gun Transfer
Great boat! Mine does very good with the range, it crossed a pretty big pond without losing connection. There is one issue. When you turn sharp corners at high speeds, it flips over and capsizes. But it's great with wide turns! I only have one question. Where do i buy spare batteries for the boat? Like a few extra batteries because the battery life on the boats batteries are short, and i want to play with the boat for longer. I have looked everywhere but i cannot find one for the boat. Thanks
Don’t rock the dock Nate LoL, cool boat I wish I lived back in the country some times I had a pond but that would to fast the wasn’t that big great job guys 👍👍
Absolutely Nice and honest review..this is one my of dream rc toy back when I was a kid until now but I need Prioritize my family daily needs, for now I enjoy watching.
Great boat. Bought on basis of your review. One complaint about it though. Receiver antenna is horizontal and for me this killed range. 20m away at most and it lost connection. I modded it, so the receiver antenna comes out the top of the receiver case. The antenna still fits below the boat cover when closed and range is now awesome. Love this boat.
Very cool Nick! We don't recall having range issues with ours, so maybe they changed the way they mounted it or something in newer production models? Sounds like you found an easy fix though. Conker season is here be careful I got conked on the head this morning🤕 have you tried switching the tyres on the lasernut with the tenacity it's awesome 👍
Got this boat. Would like to know more about how to maintain it. I recently lost the top cover and it sank in the pond. it is hard to run without it. wish i could find parts for it.
Josh S Awesome. Sorry, I’m a novice here. This will be my first RC boat. I found this “Blomiky 2 Pack 11.1V 1500mAh 35C Lipo Battery.” Would this be okay to use with it?
@@TayEvansMusic Probably, since the battery that comes with the boat is an 11.1v 1500mah also. You definitely want the voltage to be the same, and since it's also 1500mah it's probably around the same size. But when I buy products like this and I'm not sure if an extra battery or component will work is wait until the original comes in the mail, then go to my local hobby shop and get the spares there. That can be a bit more expensive, but it's less expensive in time and money than getting the wrong thing and having to return it, and it supports your LHS!
Also want to say I love your videos, guys! You're the reason I scooped up a UDI0908! Now I'm hooked- already looking at a "next boat" - SR80 PRO? Or SR85 Catamaran? 🤔 Would love to hear thoughts
Great feature rich speedboat at good RTR price. Question please: Have you run across a choice RTR RC cabin cruiser with lights? I enjoy operating a scale cabin cruiser with lights during twilight. All I can find are wooden kits that you could add an RC system to. I found a good sized yacht on Amazon, but it ran about $250. Please let me know if you find something for about half that $. Thanks, I love the approach you and your wife take to video production. Always fun!
Hello to you both, I have been enjoying boat week. Could you explain how the boat self rights itself? Is it the shape of the hull? What does the remote do, is it the torque of the motor? Thanks for posting such fun videos!
Scott is right, but yeah as long as you got one in stock it should be less than a month. Fingers crossed!! I know youll love this boat though. Let us know what you think after your first run!
Question for you! I bought two of these boats, one for myself and one for my son, and we LOVE them. Have you found a source for spare batteries or do you know what type of battery connectors those are on the boat/batteries? They look similar to an HXT 4mm plug but they aren’t. As it stands it seems as though I’m gonna have to solder new connections onto the boat so I can use batteries with a more standard XT60 connector. I’d just buy an adapter to go from whatever this plug is to a more readily available XT60 but I can’t identify what type of connector this is that comes stock on the boat & batteries.
I was wondering does connecting the battery simply turn it on or is there an on/off switch on the boat. The boat I have is similar to this one. The instruction booklet mentions turn on the controller then the boat, then lock the cover just like this boat, then lock the last cover, put it in the water and it should connect to the controller. I enjoy this video.
I really wish they rated these boats I tried to get a ft11 or ft12 but after these videos become old it's hard to find the boats.... I'm kinda bumbed I never get questions answered.... I would really like to know how the feliun ft compare to this.... why not have a speed sensor installed or use a radar gun and speed run it... I'll keep trying to get a feliun I guess.
I have the ft-11 and this looks like it as very similar electronics. The weak point on the ft-11/12 is the prop shaft coupler. I’d order a few extras when you get the boat. I like the coupler on this one a lot better but the ft series has better battery options.
Buy a Volantex 792-4 rtr instead. I started with a feilun ft12. Nice boat and quick, but very choppy. The electronics burned down (recently) and I was looking for an ft11. But indeed it has been sold out. Therefore, I bought the volantex (similar price). And tbh it has a smoother ride, more silent and you can put a 4s lipo in. It comes with a 3s lipo, but the esc can handle 4s. Thus, quicker than the ft11/12 in the end. Be aware to buy a rtr set up. The volantex can be bought on Banggood only as ‘standalone’ boat. Also, there a lot of clips on TH-cam about the volantex. Good luck!
Hey guy!! Just subbed. And recently got into boating, I have a deerh120 that's pretty quick. I was wondering if you would honestly recommend this boat as my second one? You showed it had about a spoon ful of water, is that enough to damage some parts?
This would make an awesome second boat! A spoonful of water is very normal for most RC boats as we've learned through the years. I think it would be very worth your time to check out this boat too before you make your purchase - th-cam.com/video/C7oe7Sjy9VE/w-d-xo.html
It does look nice. I'd like to see it race an FT012. I think it would be close. But I don't think they do the Ft012 anymore (uk anyway) I'm not being biased but the Ft looks more stable .
I'm one of those guys that has been out of the hobby for almost 30 years and have just got back into it in the last year. I've been checking out a bunch of rc youtubers and you guys are by far some of the nicest ones I've seen. I do have a question about lipo batteries. I'm on a tight budget with everything going on and need advice on where to start with lipo batteries. I've never used them and am very unsure about using them. I only have NIMH batteries. I appreciate any advice you can give and thank you for all the great videos and advice about rc cars
@@Athiril thank you. Just got home from work and am currently looking at different lipos and chargers on different websites taking notes and comparing different brands. My rc cars all can handle 2 or 3s so I'm looking at probably just starting with 2s for now. Thanks again. Any and all help is greatly appreciated
Just me maybe , but I don’t like black or dark grey body’s on boats as they are difficult to see at a distance in the water. I have bought extra outer hatches for some of my boats and painted them iridescent green or orange!
With that many flips and submarine dives, your bound to get a bit of water. Keep it a float and upright - probably less but that would be boring right?. My UDI 906 has been a blast . They do make inexpensive, quality RC's.
What type connects are on the battery?? Can those batteries be charged like a normal Lipo not just using the balance connector to charge?. The charger that comes with it takes too long to charge
Hey guys I have a question I going finally try to get a charger for my Rc’s because the only ones I have is the ones that come with the Rc’s I wanting to get back in to Playing with my Rc’s but don’t have a lot of money to put in to one I seen a I max b6 80 vote balance charger do y’all know if that is a pretty good one it’s only $25 bucks?
Welcome to our channel Suzie! Very happy to have you! 💯🥳 You know, I think you'd be surprised. Even a pretty small RC boat could tow a kayak. It would be slow, but it'd pull you right along 💪😎⚓
I have the Volantex atomic, I simply glued a pice of scrap plastic on TOP of the rudder, trimmed to same dimensions of the rudder. So when it flips (quite rare, maybe if I run on a 4s ) I can simply steer the boat into shore on its roof with my upside down rudder.) My shaft broke now so need to get another. This works OK though. Rob
Does anyone know if the rubber nose protector on the UDI908 is "optional" ? And does it just protect or ?? Didn't have it on for the maiden voyage- boat was quite squirrelly, then did a 10 min long submarine impression.
@@TheRcSaylors it was soooo strange. About 7 min in after a series of sharp turns it dove nose down! Stayed under water (and out of range) for OVER 10 MIN ! Then just magically reappeared! The battery in mine clips into a bracket mounted on the plastic hull with a fixed location so I don't think its that 🤔
I'll bet it lost signal when it went under water and just went full throttle! Ours will dart under water randomly too, but they usually just pop right back up. Glad you got yours back!
I think if you are going full throttle on choppy water it dives, loses signal immediately, maintains full throttle until it realised it’s lost signal and then goes back to neutral and the tx starts beeping. In that time the boat could easily go a few feet under water, even more without the rubber nose cone. Mine went down so quickly with the cone off that it hit the rocks at the bottom and did some damage. So now I always leave the cone on! Put it on and never take it off

This would make an awesome second boat! A spoonful of water is very normal for most RC boats as we've learned through the years. I think it would be very worth your time to check out this boat too before you make your purchase - th-cam.com/video/C7oe7Sjy9VE/w-d-xo.html
Hey guys! Great video. Is there any difference between the udi908 and the udi010? They look identical other than the color.
Was looking to get a Boat, This looks like this might be it!!!
Sick boat
👍😁😎⚓️
Seen it before! Cool boat.
Awsome shot and nice boat 😆
It does look nice. I'd like to see it race an FT012. I think it would be close. But I don't think they do the Ft012 anymore (uk anyway) I'm not being biased but the Ft looks more stable .
You should adapt this hull to the crocodile. Super speed crocodile!
I love this boat!!!! And I can guess....its an alligator head boat🤫 or maybe shark fin🤔😁 great content ✌
Dennis Nothstein hobbyking sell inexpensive lipos, just make sure to get the right size and connector type. Banggood have plenty too etc.
Where can you get extra batteries? Site didn't link to any like they normally do. :(
Just me maybe , but I don’t like black or dark grey body’s on boats as they are difficult to see at a distance in the water. I have bought extra outer hatches for some of my boats and painted them iridescent green or orange!
I’m late tonight was doing update on my phone always awesome vids my friends 😎😎😎⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️
Where is the best place to get batteries for RC boats? I have the H100.
Looks like a lot of fun, any slow cruises I can stick a gopro underneath? 🤔
Altair Aa102 rc boat
Flips over and had to swim to get it. The Boat stopped connecting with the remote after 5 uses.
Love the color! Incredible price!
With that many flips and submarine dives, your bound to get a bit of water. Keep it a float and upright - probably less but that would be boring right?. My UDI 906 has been a blast . They do make inexpensive, quality RC's.
that little boat is quick, great review
Thanks Island, hope you are safe and well! 👍😁😎⚓
@@TheRcSaylors all good,hope the same for y'all.
What type connects are on the battery??
Can those batteries be charged like a normal Lipo not just using the balance connector to charge?. The charger that comes with it takes too long to charge
XT 60 connector
Yes you can use a hobby grade charger to charge it in less than one hour instead of taking 6 hours
Can somebody tell me the name of the first song which was played in this video? Would really appreciate folks, I really like that one.
Nice, it doubles a Sub :D
What if changing ESC and motor? Self-righting doesn’t work anymore? I did and the self righting doesn’t work. Is it expected?
Are you flicking the throttle forward reverse forward reverse like it says in the manual?
Hey guys I have a question I going finally try to get a charger for my Rc’s because the only ones I have is the ones that come with the Rc’s I wanting to get back in to Playing with my Rc’s but don’t have a lot of money to put in to one I seen a I max b6 80 vote balance charger do y’all know if that is a pretty good one it’s only $25 bucks?
Is there any new ones this size now days?
Very nice boat.
New subscriber here. How many Ric boats will it take to tow an inflatable kayak (Intex Explorer k2 maybe) 😉?
Welcome to our channel Suzie! Very happy to have you! 💯🥳
You know, I think you'd be surprised. Even a pretty small RC boat could tow a kayak. It would be slow, but it'd pull you right along 💪😎⚓
I want to see some jet boats.. I like playing in rivers and up and down small rapids more than flat water..
We have actually featured a jet boat or two on our channel before! They are a blast! 😁👍😎⚓
We have a winner 🔥👍✌️
Cool little boat for sure
Absolutely! Love this boat, definitely staying in our collection 😁👍😎⚓
“Foam pulled” = “Mischief managed”
i JUST BOUGHT THE BLACKJACK 42 and looking for a good recovery boat for when my cat flips.

Does anyone know if the rubber nose protector on the UDI908 is "optional" ? And does it just protect or ??
Didn't have it on for the maiden voyage- boat was quite squirrelly, then did a 10 min long submarine impression.
It is just optional, yes. Very odd that yours was going underwater. Could the battery be off balance or something?
Put it on and never take it off
Do you think it would be ok to run in brackish water or even like a saltwater inlet?
100% yes, but spray it off with a hose or run it in fresh water for 30 seconds or more before putting it away after a salt water run 😁👍😎⚓
Thank you!
