- This was, without a doubt, some of the most fun I've had behind the wheel of a car. Even in the rain, it was a blast to push from corner to corner and feel the pull of torque from the turbo. The power band is smooth, it sounds amazing, and it's the perfect size. This BMW E30 review was one we've been waiting a long time to film. Hope you guys enjoyed the video! :D

Just picked up an E30 for a build on my channel last Friday.
I was 18 years old when I drove my first e30 325i. I had driven a few performance cars at that time but this one really stood out as the most enjoyable for me. Since then it's been more than 20 years and I have driven many more cars since then BUT I always remember ripping around in that black E30. Wonderful drivers car. Simple but enjoyable and effective.
I remember when these were brand new cars. There was such a HUGE difference between these and the small Japanese cars you could get (mostly.) Such a _planted,_ solid feel, so much _pull,_ beautiful style. Such class. You really nailed it again with your appreciation of this beauty for what it is.
So cool seing a BMW with fat tires for once!

Homie that steering wheel isn't aftermarket its a M-Tech 1 steering wheel that they put on 325is e30's stock or as an option. Love the cinematography, a 3rd gen RX7 would be a cool video

Very clean car, I like it. The gauges are the only thing I do not like, but I guess you have to put them somewhere.
Anyways, I just wanted to say how well you guys are doing. I'm a subscriber for not too long, I think since the E36 M3 video, but you can clearly see the quality of the content increasing. I mean, the GT3RS video was just nuts. I hope you will soon get the attention you deserve. I lack the words, but in german I would say, dass ihr ein kumpelhaftes Petrolicious seid.

in my opinion the diesel turbo is a little bit of an overkill for 10 psi. but overall there is nothing greater than a car that's built by the owners and. Love reviews like this keep them coming

Marcus , that's not an aftermarket steering wheel , it might not be stock per say but it's an OEM Mtech 1 wheel.

I have no doubt that they are light.
the m20 is built to handle boost. it's a low compression straight six with a design stemming from a turbo charged plane motor. not to mention the m30 (a 3.5 liter m20 with a timing chain) came factory turboed
Put the ZHP shortened and weighted shift knob on that little sucker. You will love it I promise. I have two 89 e30s one vert, and an ix. Look into the ix model, the 4 wheel drive system is incredible. Mine has lots of nice mods and goes pretty well.
BMW e30 325ix just put a zhp know and dssr in it.

I'm in Canada and own an e34 540 Sport 6 speed, I don't know if anyone else with an e34 like that or an M5 has approached you for a video but I'd make the drive from Manitoba to BC in the spring to do an episode, Matt Farah reviewed one but he didn't really push it hard at all.
Haha, his car is like the german version of my celica supra, re-built stock engine w/ arp studs, holset from a diesel, msd ignition, megasuirt ecu, even down to the 10psi. Awesome!

The perfect home built E30? Gotta be close. And whilst we all love a V8 in a small package I really do think it would detract from the essential character of this perfectly formed and balanced small RWD. This and a turbo Miata/MX5 NA would be close to the perfect garage on UK roads.

Just a small heads up, it does not have an aftermarket steering wheel, these came standard in some or most 325i's and definately standard in the 325iS EVO I and EVO II.
evo is for the E30 m3 and the most famous evo II was a 2.5 4cyl with 238bhp

I never considered 2,800 lbs to be light for a 2 door 90's car. I think that's definitely going towards the heavier side in my opinion. I only say this because I have a 86 VW that weighs 2,200 lbs.
